We need to ensure that all funds are funneled only to those with no means to rebuild on their own: the middle class and poor. Let the rich eat their damn cake.

Hey, did anyone happen to notice how my comment to tlbuffin was removed, via the censorship Posse, Ah, yes, yet another demonstration of currents "democratic" "policies" towards freedom of expression, you can say anything you want, but if you say anything, and I mean anything, that can be interpreted in the loosest terms possible as a criticism of any conservative sociopathic asshole, such a comment is always removed, regardless of how true the statement is, apparently the language police, cannot understand the inherent contradiction of censorship, that is counter to a democratic process, and that it inevitably is a symptom of repression and tyranny, so if someone justifiably, kicks a well deserving conservative in the balls, they step right up there to defend them, and yet those same young liberal geniuses, wonder why there Civil liberties are being destroyed, Jesus H. fucking Christ! ops! there I go again saying bad words! guess I'll get flagged again, Christ, are we all supposed to express Ourselves like we are talking on Sesame Street? we are adults here, not fucking children, and were not in fucking church, stop being the aiders and abettors of fascism! in this vid, current is William H Macy.

The poor people payed for Katrina, why not? The oil companies gouged us and the insurance companies refused to pay us, and the federal government couldn't be bothered. FEMA sent down trailers not safe to live in. Irene wasn't half as bad, but you whine twice as much. Entire towns in Mississippi were wiped off the map, they don't exist anymore. You want FEMA money because you didn't have electricty for two days?

Michelle Bachmann knows who is responsible, but can she hold him accountable?
"Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann told Floridians Sunday that Hurricane Irene and the earthquake felt along much of the East Coast last week were messages from God to warn "politicians" to start heeding divine guidance"
Since God made the mess to get her attention, does that mean God wants her to clean it up, or is she going to make God do it since he's responsible?

Clean-up can be done by the people to a point. I went to Homestead FL after hurricane Andrew and the piles of debris have to be taken away by front end loaders and dump trucks. Not very many homeowners have access to these pieces of machinery.
Then comes the rebuilding. We all have homeowners insurance that we were told by our agent was all we needed. Then the adjusters come and give everyone the bad news. Normal insurance only covers water damage that comes in via roof or windows not flooding. Of course they claim all water damage is flooding. They will pay to have a tree that has fallen on your house to be taken off of the house. They will not pay to have it removed from the property or even carried to the curb. The list goes on as to what the insurance policy will not cover. Is it the homeowner's fault when the agent told them that this is all they needed?
Some of the money from FEMA goes to temporary housing, some money is grants to people, much of the FEMA money is actually loans that need to be repaid. No matter how the money is handed out it all goes into the local economies to be used for clean-up and rebuilding. This creates jobs that people pay taxes on. They also buy things with this money and the sellers of these goods and services pay taxes on this. The money does not just go into a hole in the desert.
