Expanding deserts, falling water tables, pollutants driving people from their homes.

The Earth Policy Institute has an article and on alternet regarding environmental refugees. We saw the forced removal of a city sector after Katrina. The largest movement of population in U.S. history. These kinds of movements are becoming common in some parts of the world and will increase two things collide, degrading environment and growing populations.

    • here in the mountains we are relatively free from natural disasters, but man made ones loom in regard to water pollution created by mining and fracking. The pine beetle is dessimating the forests. But every year I live here I am glad I don't live in the plains or on the coasts.
