It's way past time for this debate. It's time to end the drug war, save money, save lives, save our sanity.
We have 25% of the worlds prison population, and we are 5% of the worlds population. That statistic is just insane. We are supposed to be a nation that values our liberties. The thing we do the best is take them away.

Keep trying to be heard Avior. I have been trying to call attention to this for years but it's like pissing up a rope. EdJoy is right, they make alot of money keeping it illegal. The fact that industrial marijuana ( the stuff that won't get you high) is illegal is just criminal.

It is not marijuana. It is the power to incarcerate "undesirable" people for a popular substance. It is the money that big pharma will lose when people discover that marijuana has beneficial properties without the terrifying side effects.
These two reasons are the truth behind the prohibition.

I did some research and found that between 1997 and 2005 the number of marijuana related deaths compared to 17 FDA approved drugs were astounding.
For the FDA approved drugs, total deaths were 11,687, 10,008 being the primary cause of death.
For marijuana, total deaths were 279, 0 being the primary cause of death.
