It’s not a Mosque, It’s not a Cultural Center—It’s a sign of the Times Part 2

Park 51 as it stands today
Almost a year ago I spent several hours protesting the bigotry, willful misinformation started by hate group, supported by the Tea Party and the Republicans against the construction of a muslim ( Multicultural, Interfaith http://park51.org ) cultural center several blocks away from what is now called Ground zero.
As you all know this simple edifice, not much different from another in the city, became a wedge used by all mentioned above to spread hate, suspicion, intolerance. Their main goal was not to show Respect ( Muslims also died when the towers came down) to the fallen, it wasn't to prevent hate or future clashes at the site. It was to discredit the President and cause as much damage as possible to the Democrats during the mid-term elections.
They succeeded and power shifted in the House. We allowed a small faction to put some candidates in office, the very same, who continuously obstruct every small measure President Barack Obama attempts to relieve unemployment, save Social Security or give American a decent medical insurance program.
This was not about preventing the cultural center from being constructed, I have returned almost a year to the day, there were no outraged Tea Party members, no Republicans, no opposing 9-11 family members, no abusive freedom tower construction workers not even a lone bigot. WHY?
If this was such an important issue they would still be there protesting against Muslim evil. It appears the circus just moved somewhere else, so much for sticking to their guns.
It's simple the cameras are gone and what they wanted to accomplish during mid-term elections worked-0ut beautifully---You see folks they won. I blame Republicans, The Tea Party, Conservatives, The media, Independents but above all DEMOCRATS, the ones who couldn't be bothered to vote on something so seemingly insignificant as mid-term elections. Let me ask you if you were of that mindset now as you desperately shout "Mr.President we need jobs" do you still think voting on mid-term elections trivial?

Our great country allows FREEDOM of speech and religion. Freedom comes with the responsibility of respecting it and maintaining it with great discipline. If religion is the interference, lets keep it away and far away from ground zero !!

If you think this was about RELIGION you missed the point. All religions have peace, love and tolerance at their core, if you practice yours accordingly you would not care if a Multicultural center went up near growing zero. Visit the link for Park 51 on the link above.

So they still haven't built it. I knew it would be a moot point, all the protesting against it. So it's legal to be built there, they've got their permits, it's a free county, all agreed. But before it can be built, you have to find someone to build it for you. And what New York Union shop construction workers that lived through 9/11 do they suppose is going to that?

It has always been legal to build the cultural center there. The only hold-up is some cash-flow issues not having anything to do with the protest.
There were some freedom tower workers who trolled the area insulting people as they drove off, these idiots missed the whole point and in doing so are actually paling into what the terrorists hope to do.
Plain simple any Union that refuses to work the site or interferes should be disbanded.

It was a mosque, and the Muslim-in-chief- thought we needed a mosque at ground zero. Little surprise since Mr. Hussein spent his formative years studying at a Madrasa in Indonesia.

With the anniversary of 9/11 approaching this is a very apropos piece. BTW thanks for part one.
We are going to remember the 3000+ that died tomorrow, but we will not remember the failures that led to this remembrance. The intelligence blunders that continually happen because everyone has their own little empire to protect, regardless of how many Presidents tell the intelligence community to share information. We will not be remembering the illegitimate wars we were led into based on hate and revenge, especially Iraq which had nothing to do with this attack. We will not be remembering the fact that these people mostly came from Saudia Arabia, taught under the most extreme of Islams factions, paid for by a son of a Saudi Prince, and a former American allie. We will not be remembering that terrorism is another word for criminal activity, it just sounds better.
What we will be remembering is that Muslims attached this country. That Islam is not Christianity and that they allow for multiple wives and that they allow underage girls to be married off. We will not remember that the only reason that Mormons took this out of their religion, that they got s message from God, was because they were told they would not be granted statehood in the 1890s. We will only remember the lose and the hatred.

Worst still in the weeks leading to the 10th anniversary there's hardly any mention of how we were ( in whatever measure) responsible for getting here---I doubt that in the weeks following the anniversary it will be brought up.

9/11 will become part of American folklore, just like "Remember the Maine", or "Remember the Alamo", or our involvement in the Philippines. The reasons behind these are always forgotten, but they are used as an excuse for American intervention. The Maine incident led to TR and his Rough Ridders, and the eventual annexation of Cuba from Spain, The Same thin happened in the Philippines which led to Mark Twain establishing the Anti-Imperialist League in 1898. The Alamo, and the "Republic of Texas" was just an excuse for the annexation of territory from Mexico, territory that was in American politicians sight since the days of Aaron Burr trying to forge a new country of Franklin west of the Appalachians, in what is now Kentucky.
We are never taught the back story that led to these things happening, just the "blind siding" that happened and the resultant wars.

Hmmm 13 wives and one of them was 9 when they "consummated"....
Wtf was that guy a member of the LDS?
Fukc em both cults if you ask me...
I mean I get Christianity, the prophet/leader was an anarchist, heretic, who hung out with ill people and prostitutes... He was a saint, and Jews who do they follow? What was it Moses or Ezekiel? Either-way, he wasn't a polygamous pedo...
But let's not call things out with the accepted facts about them....
And please tell me how Jesus personally approved of slavery by using the word servant, that one is always cute....

All religious text were manipulated to represent a particular group's ethos and affected by the social norms of the era when the change took place.
You say "Either-way, he wasn't a polygamous pedo..." in reference to the prophet Mohamed. Let me play Devil's Advocate--- The Pope is said to be Jesus representative on Earth, a long line of Popes turned a blind eye to the incalculable cases of priest molesting boys and girls, so does that mean that Jesus approves of pedophilia? Lets take it a step further and say that the Christian G_d does. You see the slippery slope of such arguments?

Great article. Just as people finally awoke to the importance of Supreme Court Justice selection when Bush was handed the Presidency by a panel of conservatives after Gore won the popular vote, the non-voting public will have to take ownership of the obstructionism and terrible compromises their absence at the polls has cost us.

is their not an argument to be made that hearts and minds are at stake in this mess we have gotten ourselves into.as well as religion wether we like it or not is unfortunately not excluded from the variables in our wars.
wether you are a racist or not, muslim or not, in national terms their is aus and a them.and they define success differently than we do.shouldnt we be cognisent of how our enemy works?
cuz if we only beat them on our terms, not theirs, they still win.dont build a symbol of what they view as a justification for jihadism any place near the site of previous jihadist endevours.as that is literaly the coming to fruition of what the terrorist tyrants tell their ill informed followers will happen.
"destroy the monuments of the infidel and a mosk will take its place.this is we will spread islam, inshallah"
building anything that proliferates islam at the location where the jihadis cleared ground fot that purpose, reads to them as gods will.an affirmation of jihadism for the next batch.
the burden of proof is then met.just like it is when we invade their lands when the bin laden types have been saying the crusaders are coming to kill you, pick up arms and fight first.it has nothing to do with wether or not islam is a good religion or what ever.it doesnt even really matter that islam is a religion.any more than it matters what design or colors are on a flag in a game of capture the flag.red, blue, doesnt matter as long as you carry out the strategy to success.the entire block could be turned into cell phone and fast food stores all owned by muslims.to the enemy, wich isnt islam but the jihadist, that would be another square inch of the world islamophied through thier effortsandvia gods will.
we didnt make islam a part of this.they highjacked it and used it.it isnt our fault.they could have made it about aab nationalism, or created an entirely new political idealogy to spread.but they chose to exploit an already existing one highjacking it and using it to attack others.that is the burden of muslims to negate.it is their identity.as far as our policy goes it should be serve liberty above all.not for some at the expense of many.
liberty for all of us by doing everything we can to insure every benchmark of success defined by those who seek to destroy us is removed.like building what they want as a result of what they destroyed (wich is how it will read in jihadi land).
the liberty for muslims to adress their own issues with out our value system medling, even in over compensating for them.
the very liberty that would makes this zoning issue trite if jahadism is viewed as successfull.cuz that muslim center wont be rudely relocated by the jihadis, but crudely blown up.

I remember some troll telling me when this was going on "the Muslims are coming to get you. They're coming to get you! I'm telling you, when you figure it out, it'll be too late!!!"
He actually wasn't kidding around. He came off quite sincere.

Divide and conquer, instill hopelessness and fear in the people, offer up a scapegoat for all of society's ills, demonize all of the "others", and convince the voters that "some" in the country ought not to be voting. It all sounds disturbingly familiar.
Great post, Jackhole - and, no, there is no such a thing as a 'trivial' election.
