Not sure why so many big microbreweries are continuing to bottle their beverages, but glad that I've seen some good ones coming out in cans...
Don't wanna take glass to the beach, lake, pool, etc. Even if it isn't against the rules for that particular area, it is rude and inconsiderate.

Wow, they are all piss beers...
I'm surprised though that they have lost so much market, I know a lot of college students who drink Bud like it is the nectar of the gods... though it is probably because they cannot afford a decent beer.

My all time fave was a mild brewed by Bank's brewery in the UK. It had the tag line on the label "Unspoilt by Progress"

I haven't bought any of those types of beer for over 20 years (before I found real beer and not flavored water). The only time I would drink any of these was after a softball game and that's what the designated player brought for the aftergame party. I figure if I am only going to drink one or two bears, I should buy something with real taste. Yuengling's Black and Tan is a nice start!
What you all should do is find a bunch of friends....Send someone out that has knowledge of obscure/micro brews or imports. Buy a case of each one and split the bottles (and the costs) equally so you have a nice case or so different beers to try. Do that every so often and see what is really out there. You just might find a new favorite beer.

I have fond memories of my grandfather drinking PBR.
When I was a kid, literally, Michelob was considered the expensive/good beer. Now I've found rye.

I'm drinking a Spaten right now. Just for a change in pace. Earlier it was Shipyard IPA. All good. Why drink Bud?

Yeah, corporate America still wants you to believe it's cool to drink swill. Once you start buying into the Redneck Kool-Aid plan the rest of the indoctrination is so much easier...

How about calling it "8 beers Lazloman never drank", instead? Ok, once or twice I bought Michelob, but that was back in college when it was still cool and I was probably drunk already, from a "quality" beer, like "Mickey's Fine Malt Liquor" or maybe T-Birds (my favorite bar in college) would have a special on a bucket of "Little Kings". Oh boy, those were heady days, man!

Anything mashed with lots of crystal malt and heavily hopped with Cascade or Hallertau. There are too many variants to name.
I've become too much of a craft brew snob.

I switched from Cascade to Northern Brewer It has an Alpha Acid of 7.5 and can be used as both a boil and bittering hops.

Yep. Northern Brewer is a perfect bittering hop for American-style ales. But Cascade makes an excellent aroma hop, and really imparts a great flavor when used to dry hop.
Damn! Now you have me wanting to brew a batch.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brown_ale[ The term "brown ale" was revived at the end of the 19th century when London brewer Mann introduced a beer with that name. However, the style only became widely brewed in the 1920s. The brown ales of this period were considerably stronger than most modern English versions. In 1926, Manns Brown Ale had a gravity of 1.043º and an ABV of around 4%.[4] Whitbread Double Brown was even stronger, 1.054º and more than 5% ABV.[5] The introduction of these beers coincided with a big increase in demand for bottled beer in the UK. ]

I will go out on a limb here, and say that I think Budweiser ( the central product ), is OK for a mild light beer. - Not really an "American" product anymore . . .

Well,....its not exactly MY fave -here are two reviews I think a reasonably fair -
[ from http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/29/65 } ]
this - LAMAGS ( New York City, New York )
C / 2.83 rDev +12.4%
look: 2.5 | smell: 2 | taste: 3 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3
We've all drank it, and I'm sure, had mixed feelings. In my opinion its not as bad as everyone says. For a macro lager made for mass consumption it has more flavor than one should expect. Typical appearance for a lager and a distinct pretzel flavor. The mouth-feel is crisp and refreshing which is it's best quality. I'm not arguing that its a great beer, just good for what it is.and this -Beer Mail this user about their beer review and beer ratings of Budweiser FUNKPhD ( Houston, Texas )
D+ / 2.42 rDev -2.5%
look: 3 | smell: 1.5 | taste: 2.5 | feel: 2.5 | overall: 3Personally, I've helped polish off several cases of Budweiser, and I must admit, if this was the only beer left in the world, I would still help polish off some more.
The appearance of Bud is about what you'd expect, golden with bubbles and some head. Honestly, I've never really cared for the smell of Budweiser. It kind of reminds me of funk, but not overwhelmingly so. Depending on how long the beer has been in the holding vessel, the taste can be any where from acceptable to bad. If its fresh, expect the lager taste of malt and hop.
All in all, I feel that Budweiser deserves its spot in the convenient store cooler. When you're kicking it with your buds and need something readily available to get wasted on, Budweiser would be a solid choice.

Those WERE all shitty beers. Best I ever had was from a microbrewery on the Snake River run by al elderly Basque gentleman, aptly called " Snake River Beer ". Brewed in small numbered batches..delicious brew...went out of business when the brewer decided he had enough to last him a life time. Sad day.
