These are the people Plato and Socrates thought so little of ; business absorbed citizens who cared for argument solely as a MEANS to an end,.....a "charge' if you will, to blast the common mass of people in a certain direction.Sophists, they called them. ( and most were MOSTLY C and D grade scholars even ' back in the day'.
times REALLY DONT change. Same old, same old.

Spring semester 1970. Organic Chemistry. "F".
In every school I've ever attended, that letter indicates Failure. There is no evidence that course was ever made up. How do you confer the degree of Bachelor of Science with a failure in ..."science"? Oh, wait; I forgot. It is Texas.

If Rick Perry wants to breed with animals he should go to Florida. Seems to be a lot of that going on down there.

Hookay, we all know George Bush wasn't particularly bright. Anyone who ever got a GWB calendar for Christmas knows how bloody inarticulate he was. But, he still SOMEHOW managed to get an MBA from Yale. Yeah, he was a legacy, but an MBA from an Ivy League School ... there must have been SOME synapses firing.
Rick Perry couldn't even manage a 2.0 GPA (2.0!!!!) for a BACHELOR's in ANIMAL HUSBANDRY from Texas A&M. Not to piss on Texas A&M, I know they play good football, but it's probably about the 200th best school in the U.S.
It's TERRIFYING that this guy is the frontrunner of the Republican Party. He actually makes Quayle and Bush look like genuises.

"No wonder they call him “Bush without the brains.” Bush doesn't have brains either. Anyway, it doesn't surprise me he did well in animal breeding. It would be the only thing he would be good at. He's a Bush clone.....all the way from his schooling to being governor. One more thing...stupidity is a virtue where they come from.

"Professors and students at the law school reacted cautiously to Mr. Obama's selection. ''For better or for worse, people will view it as historically significant,'' said Prof. Randall Kennedy, who teaches contracts and race relations law. ''But I hope it won't overwhelm this individual student's achievement.''Change in Selection System
Mr. Obama was elected after a meeting of the review's 80 editors that convened Sunday and lasted until early this morning, a participant said.
Until the 1970's the editors were picked on the basis of grades, and the president of the Law Review was the student with the highest academic rank. Among these were Elliot L. Richardson, the former Attorney General, and Irwin Griswold, a dean of the Harvard Law School and Solicitor General under Presidents Lyndon B. Johnson and Richard M. Nixon.
That system came under attack in the 1970's and was replaced by a program in which about half the editors are chosen for their grades and the other half are chosen by fellow students after a special writing competition. The new system, disputed when it began, was meant to help insure that minority students became editors of The Law Review."

Well, Mr. Crab, I guess my point goes beyond spelling in that if you are going to start questioning people's academics you should have your own house in order, doncha think? I guess my point sailed right over your head.
-
Joeydee44
-
-
crabbyoldguy
-
Joeydee44:
Your stance of me having my house in order is a pretty conservative view. Should this approach be applied to voting? for example: If you don't have a college degree you're not eligible to vote, to protest, to immigrate, etc ? Or if your "creds" don't match that of a politician then you have no opinion and any thing that comes from you is irrelevant. So no I don't have to be an alumni of Harvard to question the who, what, and why of a politician or to ponder the question of why a good story writer could become president of the Harvard law review.

Well we can be sure that Obama graduated from Harvard with a J.D. magna cum laude in 1991. Most schools that are not prestigious tend to not hand out honors for GPA's that are lower than 3.5, so betting that Obama received good grades during his time in Harvard is probably a very secure bet. Kinda like betting that I will still be breathing five minutes from now.
