http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=irx_QXsJiaoThe Tea Party is a sick entity. If you are willing to let someone die when you have the ability to help them, you are the one with the problem.

I think we can all agree somethings should be covered but then where do you draw the line? We should also note that we make ourselves through our choices. Some people eat well while others eat garbage and don't take care of themselves so where do you draw t he line? Also I know Ron Paul is extreme but at least you can say he is the most honest guy on the hill! Auditing the fed and ending militarism while balancing the budget sounds like enough in four years! Oh and did I mention derivatives regulation and states rights? Ron Paul 2012!!

WOW! The TROLLS have turned up en mass here today! Is it me, or do others here HEAR the "background noise" as they sing out, "LET 'EM DIE!!!!".
I hope they don't find themselves in dire straits and need assistance medically!
What they cry out for may very well come back to bite them in their hypothetical, metaphorical or any other kind of arses they may have in a sling and need emergency health needs taken care of IMMEDIATELY and will be asked, "Do you have medical insurance? We can't help you if you don't".

And this is why we need the mandate for people who have the means to buy health insurance. But to let someone die because they don't have health insurance? This attitude does not surprise me. It happens every day to the uninsured in this country. Contrary to what the Republicans want the country to believe not everyone is not takencare of by the government when they get sick. Ask all of us who are in debt because we don't have medical insurance ($14,000.00 plus for my eight day stay two years ago) or those of us who have to try and find free or cost medical programs. Ask the young man who died from an infected tooth if the supposid "government welfare state" took care of him. Good post Avior. +^d

I didn't watch that useless debate because if you changed heads of each of these people you would not know the difference. All of them are spouting platitudes, and misinformation. I did however see the clip of Ron Paul and heard those fools cheering about letting a man die. Reminds me of the days in our history when people had picnics and brought the kids to the weekly hanging. Sounds extreme but there is not much difference. This is a sad state of affairs.

The entire field is a disgrace. I was not surprised however at what Ron Paul said. At the last debate he said he'd take free school lunches away from poor kids because it is not the responsibility of government. It's not that big of a stretch to watching a sick man die because he has no insurance. I thank Wolf Blitzer for the question, but I already knew Paul was a fool. He does not deserve to even visit the White House on a guided tour.

Thank God Ron Paul does not speak for the majority of us. I take comfort in the fact that on the very next day a group of people saved a motorcyclist from dying by literally lifting up the car under which he was trapped. That is how I like to view my fellow citizens. Ron Paul is certifiably insane. He makes me ashamed of Texas, but I also know that he does not represent my state, only a small portion of small-minded bigoted individuals, who care only about themselves and the almighty dollar.

No what TPM so eloquently omitted (much the like FOXNEWS), was that he went on to say that he never had to turn anyone away.
Groups within the community came into play and helped one another take care of each other in situations like this, that he had personally seen...
His statement was basically that;
The government has no right to DEMAND someone pay for a medical insurance, and that you're selling the American people short to suggest they're so calloused that they don't come together and help one another without "Big Brother" demanding bullshit......
There are church groups, and secular groups, charities that constantly help people out, but this is deliberately misleading & people don't even want to acknowledge that..... Or that that's what he said....
Ever here of the "Ronald McDonald House" that takes care of children's families that have to be unexpectedly out of town due to emergency medical situations involving their children? And that's just organization of MANY that the government doesn't run....
Some people need to quit being TROLLS and using the same tactics the other fascists (republicans) are using...
Ron Paul is the closest thing to a saint that has ever run for office, you're doing yourselves a great disservice not seeing that....

Nice picture, I love graphical expression of emotions. Ok Buckeye_Bill let's get to business.
The sad truth is, there is no argument that our rich and greedy homeland has room for homelessness, poverty, lack of healthcare, corrupt judicial system. My homeland is a country that sends it's sons to war and does not provide basic care for those that return alive, country where a 101 year old senior is evicted from her home, country where judge gets kickbacks for sending preteens and teens to prison, country where so many talk about freedom and liberty but none that actually have it.
Our two party government system is beyond broken. There is no excuse for one party pointing a finger at the other, and swap places every four years. Make no mistake; Democrats are just as guilty as Republicans. Regardless of party affiliation members of exclusive enrichment club - our government "leaders" make decisions like in a chess game where you and I are not even pawns.
Now, we can share personal life experiences that shaped individualized point of view, or we can start thinking out of box.

Of course Democrats have never had absurd reactions or made absurd statements regarding political situations. Unlike the little pirannahs on this site who only need a small piece of fresh meat to indulge themselves, I look at the big picture.
The person who yelled out the person should die was wrong. The people who agreed were wrong. However, in a political envoronment with ordinary people (not politicians who have to be PC wary) I'm not going to blow it out of context. I believe the people who responded are really more about personal responsibility than anyone dying.
I agreed with Paul's response on personal responsibility. A person can't be refused medical attention. If a person chooses not to purchase insurance (don't forget the question Paul was asked) he should receive medical attention then have his wages garnished until his financial obligation to the medical providers are satisfied.

Ron Paul said they would have to die. At least Obama's healthcare gives these people healthcare. The death panals that the same people, that made this up, are now saying let them die. Sick and BS.

there you go again, typical of the progressive liberal leftylibs to make up quotes and shit when on the losing end of an argument. never said that nor ever believed that, neither have most on the right. those are just more misleading and untrue quotes perpetuated by the left wing media and those who choose to believe their biased and unfounded rhetoric.

Progressives Contributing to World Starvation and Poverty or "Cornholing the Future"
isnt a submission from you wich serves to demonize more than inform?
" Blame Obama, not Bush, for the mess we are in"
what was that about unfounded rhetoric?
who better to determine what is rhtoric than the guy who tilted his article this "Consevatives More Loving, Caring, Honest, and Charitable than Liberals"

this place is also subject to unhealthy biased and often untrue political rhetoric. as long as one is open to self analysis, honesty and discourse without aggressively adhering to ones belief system there are some positive views to glean. but i only come here for the food and a few laughs anyway.
