Bi-partisan congressional effort for Holocaust survivors to receive special health care funds

Right now—when millions of Americans, young and old alike, have no healthcare insurance or otherwise have insurance that hardly pays their medical bills—two members of Congress from Florida, Reps. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D) and Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R), have introduced a bill that will provide privileged taxpayer-financed healthcare for Jewish “Holocaust survivors” living in America, who are estimated to be 127,000 in number.
Their legislation, H.R. 2786, titled the “Holocaust Survivors Assistance Act of 2011,” would “amend the Older Americans Act of 1965 to provide social service agencies with the resources to provide services to meet the unique needs of Holocaust survivors to age in place with dignity, comfort, security and quality of life.”
What this high-sounding rhetoric means is that, according to The Jerusalem Post ofAug. 5, “Holocaust survivors in the U.S. will receive federal funds designed to help them age at home, rather than having to move to an institution.”
The Jewish Telegraph Agency stated onAug. 3, “The bill would give Holocaust survivors preference in obtaining aging services.”The Jewish Federations of North America said the bill “strengthens agencies that support Holocaust survivors who wish to age in place rather than move into institutionalized care, which can often lead to retraumatization for these victims of terror and torture.”
The bill asserts: “As victims of terror and torture, these survivors have special needs to age in place in their communities. Institutionalized settings have a disproportionate adverse effect on Holocaust survivors, as these environments reintroduce the sights, sounds and routines of institutionalization that are reminiscent of experiences during the Holocaust.”
In other words, alleged Holocaust survivors shouldn’t have to stay in hospitals or nursing homes because such places supposedly remind them of concentration camps.

No disrespect to the Holocaust survivors, but this funding needs to come from Germany and its people not the US folks. We are cutting many valuable programs and now we think we can fund this cause, I don't think so. However, we do have the best government money can buy.

There are many people that need the same thing; Why is it good for just Jewish holocaust survivors and not other survivors African American for one. Why don't they get there health care from the people that created their situation, the Germans? Blacks get nothing so why should the Jews?

"Why don't they get there health care from the people that created it," or from their own Nation that the US still has to support. Which I am okay with, but lets get real here.
That being said, it is a right wing rag, so it's probably not the whole story. And it is a way for the pukes to create a wedge issue for the Jews. They figure it worked in New York, why not the rest of the nation. It's more likely a story leaked to spread hate and bigotry.

I posted a link to the bill and you can go read it for yourself.
The only place you are most likely to read stories like this is in Israeli news sites, on sites like the JTA or on "right wing rags."
Usually the mainstream US news sites would rather not bring attention to the fact that some people in this country may be entitled to recieve benefits while most American citizens are not.

ironically enough my mother prosecutes "hate crime" for DOJ. No one wants to hear the stories I've had to listen to, but interestingly she successfully prosecuted the nations first case of slavery a few years ago.

All you need to know on this article is that the Southern Poverty Law Center lists the AmericanFreePress as a hate group that loves to stir up racial tensions.
No, I haven't read the bill but I'd wager it is not at all what this article portrays it to be.

I'm calling out your post as distraction. I challenge you to point out the hate here in this article.
Furthermore, the Southern Poverty Law Center is a group that does NOTHING BUT stir up racial tensions. They are in the business of profiting (rather handsomely) from the perceived belief of hate being everywhere.
For instance, the SPLC believes in a conspiracy theory about white Christians who are allegedly plotting the overthrow of the government. There is nothing sillier than that, but they propogate this dangerous theory with little or no evidence and profit from this conspiracy theory. The SPLC has even gone so far as to sic Homeland Security and local law enforcement on anyone who doesn't agree with their far left collectivist views.
That's the trick. Organizations like the SPLC and the ADL project what they are doing onto others. If you want to look at the real haters, one needs to look no further than those groups.

Just for the record any further charges of "hate." Basically the jist is that anything that the SPLC disagrees with can be classified as "hate" including pointing out the outrageousness of H.R. 2786: Holocaust Survivors Assistance Act of 2011.
SPLC Admits Defining ‘Hate’ Is Purely Subjective
http://www.americanfreepress.net/html/splc_hate_253.html
by Dave Gahary
In the last decade, AFP has frequently reported on well-funded U.S. and international organizations that are set up for the sole purpose of smearing decent patriotic Americans and others as “haters” and “racists,” simply because they do not agree with these groups’ liberal outlook. The danger here is that these so-called “civil right groups” often work closely with law enforcement agencies, using paid informants to infiltrate meetings and spy on people. Detailed information is collected and kept in files or turned over to police to help facilitate lawsuits and prosecutions— even prison sentences.
AFP had the chance recently to interview Mark Potok, the spokesperson for Morris Dees’s Southern Poverty Law Center, a multi-million-dollar operation that sees itself as America’s premier civil rights organization, but more broadly exists to pigeonhole Americans into subjective categories of “hate.”
Potok, director of the Southern Poverty Law Center’s (SPLC) “Intelligence Project,” tasked with monitoring “hate groups” and “extremists,” freely admitted to AFP that the method SPLC staffers use for determining “hate” is not at all a science.
When asked if there is a definition on the SPLC’s Internet site that explains the parameters or metrics used to determine “hate,” Potok had a short reply: “Not really.” Potok was then asked if this kind of approach to classify “hate” is subjective, and he replied in the affirmative. “Yes, there’s some art as well as some science in it.”
This admission from the editor of the quarterly magazine Intelligence Report, the “nation’s preeminent periodical monitoring the radical right in the U.S.,” could be seen as alarming. A subjective, therefore inaccurate “hate” judgment from Potok and company at the SPLC could ruin someone’s life or even become a jail sentence, especially since the magazine is sent free to law enforcement agencies.
According to what Potok told AFP, the SPLC “train[s] anywhere between 2,000 and 8,000 police officers a year . . . in everything from hate crimes training to, much more typically, training in hate groups and
domestic terrorism.”Even more alarming, someone can be classified as “hateful” even if they’ve never committed any crimes nor seem poised to do so in the future, but simply for expressing their “politically incorrect” opinion.
“The listings are not based on criminality or violence or any kind of estimate we’re making as to the potential of violence or criminal actions . . . [but] based strictly on ideology,” continued Potok.
Amazingly, Potok explained why “hate” is not defined by the SPLC.
“Part of the reason we don’t publish a definition . . . this is our opinion, this is our evaluation based, we think, on objective factors,” said Potok. He says this, even after admitting that the process is clearly subjective.

You progressives miss the point. There shouldn't need to be a "special" exception such as this written in to our laws. This should be the minimum standard of care provided to all citizens in a country that spends almost 2 trillion dollars a year on healthcare. Instead of being envious of the holocaust survivors, you should be saying, "damn right and make it apply to everyone!"
Open your eyes and minds.

the majority of our lawmakers are Zionists, that is why on Sesame St "Israel is our friend"...remember Zionism does not equal Judaism. They just run Israel in the name of the Jews like our gov't acts in the name of all Americans, hence the protests here and there.
