OK, I have a serious question, I'm not trying to be funny. But I don't understand what these protestors' political goals are, what is their message. Even after watching Olberman's piece on it last night (don't tell anyone I watched Olberman, please, especially not him), I still don't understand what they are trying to accomplish, his guest on the subject didn't seem to know either, other than just saying they are pissed off, and who isn't. I mean the original Tea Party demonstrations had a very succinct message, cut spending, shrink government. What is the message of these people? And, just as a side point, what makes them think Wall Street cares what they think. Like I say, not making fun, I'm serious, I want to know.

voted up . my only concern is where are all these people going to pee and poop? what about trash? are the protesters creating basic infrastructure to ensure their actions don't impede or disrupt city services?

Well I saw a bunch of cops arresting protesters but not one image of violence toward anyone. If I had seen cops with night sticks beating people I would have had to concur with the brutality line. Correct me if I am wrong and if you can prove it to me, this group is directed from the far left and communist parties.
I despise the crooks on wall street. The cops were not doing anything but their jobs. Hand cuffs being too tight and a cut finger are not brutality. - 8 months ago

How about video-ing you without your permission and having you declared a domestic terrorist ..? They tried to do this in the '60s and '70s and it is still not constitutional . We have the right to public assembly without being labeled terrorists .

9/20/ 11 Legal Representation retained
Posted on September 20, 2011 by kellyh
Following this mornings arrests, the General Assembly reached consensus on legal representation. Wylie Stecklow Law www.wylielaw.com has been retained to ensure the right of the collective to assemble at Liberty Plaza via the courts.Last night a concentrated effort went into turning Liberty Plaza into a smaller version of Tahrir Square, in preparation for a long term occupation. Tarps and tents were brought in to provide shelter from rain. Around 7am this morning, a senior member of the NYPD woke the camp and announced that the tarps would need to be taken down immediately. The collective decided rather than taking the tarps down they would be held up by hand. Police reacted disproportionately, tearing the tarps from the hands of those holding them up. 6 arrests were made.
The General Assemby convened this afternoon to evaluate proposal by Sam Cohen of Wylie Stecklow to act as legal representative. The proposed action was to seek injunctive relief through federal court, to ensure the Expressive Association of the collective as guaranteed by the First Amendment.
Mr. Cohen’s research indicates that tents may be set up for less than 30 days without permit or permission according to administrative code section. Mr. Cohen asked for permission to speak to police on behalf of the collective. Wylie Law will ask for an emergency motion and seek a preliminary stay to prevent police from making any further attempts to remove tarps or force the collective from the park. The collective would enter into a contract as their client and they would act as representative on a pro bono basis. The general assembly reached consensus and the proposal was implemented immediately.
****UPDATE, 10:20pm*****
During the Evening GA it was announced that a new Legal Work Group was formed. The National Lawyers Guild, NYCLU and ACLU are interested in working with us. The GA came to consensus that more legal input is desirable and that the filing of injunction can be delayed until tomorrow after the whole legal team and all related parties have met, decided on the best strategy and bring it back to GA for approval.

In North Alabama nothing has been reported on the tv news, the radio, or the newspapers about this action. I did hear a blurb about this on NPR/APR which is a public radio station. This action is being disregarded by the bought off media. Time to invite al Jezzera to broadcast this action around the world.

Why not have an Ignore-Off competition where people can try to score points on which is the most dismissed story? The Protest or Solyndra?
At least the media would be able to get behind that kind of sensationalism that gets better ratings than they have reported so far. If you want more media attention than it's getting so far, then they have to grab ratings like the stories they have been focusing on like
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/alec-baldwin/alec-baldwin-emmys_b_970323.html?ir=M...
Why Alec Baldwin didn't go to the Emmy's, Chaz Bono appearing on DWTS, or The treatment of Bunnies at the Playboy Club
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/09/16/joy-behar-chaz-bono-keith-ablow_n_96635...
In other words something the media thinks people REALLY CARE about that gets more sizzle, flash and ad revenue.

I tweeted it, and posted it as my fb status :-)!! I guess maybe the fact that the cops are getting pushy means that the wall st vermadon are getting angry. I don't like seeing those good Americans (the protesters) being treated the way they are, but I like the fact that they are starting to aggravate the shit on wall st :-).
