    • Unlike the 60's this generation will find support from (their) older generation. I'm talking about us, who are old enough to remember. (I'm 54). Power to the people-RIGHT-ON. Screw the fascist!

    • Since the President will not help fix this mess, then it is up to the PEOPLE! The POWER FOR CHANGE IS IN THE PEOPLE, the power is in all of us, we have to make that decision to us the Power.

My contribution has been to liquidate all of my Stocks to cash. The cash was donated to NYCGA to Occupy Wall Street.

Remember it is WE (you and I) who have made Wall Street! We are inundated with commercials from Television, radio or billboards, so subconsciously we buy!

“State Farm has a commercial that depicts saving money, and with that savings a Man has brought a Falcon, another men has a cockatoo, yet another a moose’s head. Then you have other commercials talking about restless leg syndrome (pramipexole (Mirapex) “Ask your Doctor” or depression (Zolof) “Ask your Doctor.”

The power of suggestion from various pharmaceuticals and other corporations in these ads are incredible, how they use mechanisms of social psychology to get over the vast numbers of Americans and others around.

I say all of that to say do not lose sight of this moment, sometimes we have shut IT down (Boycott), go back, then start over learning from our mistakes, to have better FUTURE. Power to the People.

that has been the meaning behind opensourceworld.us, and also its way, projecthug.us.. to lead by example, to provide a forum a meeting place and a media center that can keep the word out there, hope from dying, and the dream alive.. i am excessive at times indeed, but these are times that call for drama, for excessive emotion, for grand gestures and for constant pressure until we are victorious for all our sakes and the sake of history

    • This is the face of fascism. How is this any different than Syria or Yemen? Once again, the cops putting forward their intimidation tactics and stifling first amendment rights. On the upside, I was glad to see the many young people out there. It's their futures who are in the process of being crushed. I believe what I saw here is just the tip of the iceberg.

    • You can't make an omlet without breaking a few eggs.
Fascist are real and we are about to see them in full force.
Unfortunately, I don't see Obama being any help in this struggle at all. Wall st. is his master.

    • Well if these images continue to expand through the web, it might be possible to see larger protests in the long run as a reaction to the repression of the first protest. One spark can light up a larger amount of discontent.

    • This is a protest against capitalism's holiest shrine, Wall St. One can expect a brutal response from the fascists as it is their very core. This is the only action that will draw attention to the corporate dictatorship, discussing it in a public forum is not possible for the public forum is denied to anyone who who does not support the fascists. "Free Speech Zones" are essentially no speech zones in which one can say what one wants and be assured that no one will hear them.

In the 60's,a group of demonstrators walked into the visitors gallery at the stock exchange and dropped dollar bills down on the trading floor. This was considered such a serious threat that bullet proof glass was installed in the gallery to prevent this from happening again.

People have a right to be heard and when they are prevented from so doing they have the right to protest. The use of brutal tactics to suppress this is the action of a totalitarian state and will lead to open revolt. Remember the actions of a doddering old grade B movie actor did not bring down the former Soviet Union; it died from internal rot, corruption, and collapse.

    • I am kind of shocked at this. And how crazy this is getting. This area is actually not wall st, this is Union sq. I work in the area. I can't believe on my day off all this craziness goes down -_- I actually went to Wall st yesterday, I think they've been there for just over a week. I ran into a friend who is doing this. It was at the beginning of the night, so everything was pretty peaceful there, but there were a couple hundred people there at least. Apparently, some protestors aren't so peaceful, so they get arrested (which is expected) but someone also told me that people who have committed no crimes are being arrested as well. All was very peaceful when I went, just a bunch of people hanging out, eating, talking, relaxing, trying to get through the bad weather, just camping out. Watching this video is shocking...it's disgusting watching americans being stripped of their rights. and watching the fucking cops push women across the street too! wtf!!

    • This shows us we are not free at all, they will protect the people who are killing this county rather then protecting one's right to demonstrate.

This is true, but unfortunately we as a nation don't realize what's really going on. There is a big disconnect from people that don't want to wake up and face reality. There is so much to be done in order for Americans to come together for a just cause.

    • And they are using the Patriot Act as the means to arrest these protesters .A decade ago these arrests would have been illegal. Thanks for nothing Bush and Obama. Peaceful citizens exercising their rights under the constitution get arrested but criminal bankers go free.

as so many of us said, it was never about sides, and it was always small bites at the apple of freedom, and now they are encroaching the very core!! we have to stand up and resist until successful

    • "I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs".

      Thomas Jefferson,
      3rd president of US (1743 - 1826)

    • The media are ignoring the protesters so they don't get fired by their masters. Only Democracy Now and Countdown with Keith Olbermann are keeping up with this story. And some people are afraid.... and want it to go away. Wish all you want... this will not go away!!!!

    • 100 protesters, including 3 from the Livestream media team arrested today in the worst display of civil rights violations via police brutality on this peaceful protest to date. With threats of a raid on Liberty Plaza tonight, the additional clip at the end, a call for help, has been included. So far we have over 7000 viewing the stream. Over 1000 present at the Plaza and growing. They need all the support they can get. Call NYPD's front office and demand they let these folks go and cease their assault on peaceful protesters.
