Feds: Mass. man planned to blow up Pentagon
source: http://t.co/SN2ggrSm
Rezwan Ferdaus, 26, was arrested Wednesday in Framingham after undercover federal agents delivered materials he'd allegedly requested for his plan, including grenades, six machine guns and what he believed was 24 pounds of C-4 explosive.
According to a federal affidavit, Ferdaus said he wanted to deal a psychological blow to Americans, the "enemies of Allah," by hitting the Pentagon, which he called "head and heart of the snake."
In a conversation with a federal informant, Ferdaus allegedly explained how in ancient times, God uses natural disasters to punish evil civilizations, and he would use them today. "For us, we've gotta do that," he said, according to the affidavit. "Allah has given us the privilege ... he punishes them by our hand. We're the ones."
Ferdaus, a U.S. citizen and Northeastern University graduate, was scheduled to make his initial appearance in federal court in Worcester on Wednesday afternoon.
Telephone messages were left at the office of his attorney, Catherine Byrne, and at the address listed for Ferdaus in the affidavit.
Law enforcement officials have said they are concerned about potential homegrown terrorists, and several alleged domestic plots have been thwarted since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, including in Lackawanna, N.Y.; Portland, Ore.; and Virginia.

Here's what happens when law enforcement stops a REAL terrorist attack.
It's quitely reported and then you never hear about it again.

Oh good, more entrapment by the FBI... So an informant is paid a bunch of money to go out and look for Muslims with a bit of angst, then upon finding one, that informant gets the FBI further involved and together they encourage the individual beyond the angst that person already had. Not only is there encouragement, but this individual who had previously not had the means or logistics to pull off any attack, gets stratigic help in what and where and how to attack and then the FBI presents the means. During this whole period, there is continual positive reinforcement.
How is this not entrapment? There is no excuse for this, and this isn't the first time either (this is the umpteenth hundredth time in a decade). The FBI has been directed, and also, there are zealots within, who want to continue pushing Muslims to the edge as a part of an effort to eradicate that religion in the long run. With a 10th of the effort and resources, this person with some angst towards the US could have been turned around, pushed over to the friendly side of the fence, instead of given a toss over and into the wrong side. - 8 months ago

This is one where the Feds actually go out looking for a easy culprit , coax them into it , feed them the ideas , gather up all the materials for him and then arrest him as a terrorist ...when actually had the guy been left to his own devises he would never have gotten beyond his pissed off attitude. Research this agenda and you'll find quite a few of these poor idiots that the Feds have set up in such a way....they actually go out of their way to start the whole idea in the first place....there are some decent articles about this. It's a type of forced extortion on the Feds part. Most have been determined as completely harmless without the Feds coaxing and help. Since finding a real one is like looking for a needle in a hay stack they simply make their own from scratch!

Yep, they set him up and brought him down... This isn't new they've done this crap a few times...
Moral of the story, when someone offers you; hand grenades, machine guns, and C4.... Bet your sweet ass it's a fed....
It's hard to believe anyone is that stupid for one, and when the FBI set it up... There is a very high probability they cultivated his mentality into seeing his actions as acceptable...

Nah, he was probably already crazy to begin with but that the FBI probably started to lure him with the "treats". Like placing a bunch of candies along a path and picking up each piece until finding out that the last piece is in a cage.

Remote control planes? What do they think this plot was, 9/11 Part 2: Dov Zakheim Returns?
This story really is over the top and I fault the FBI for laying it on a bit thick. I give the FBI an A+ for creativity in creating a good Hollywood-esque storyline but a D- for believability.

It's not the FBI's fault this guy is an idiot, they are just reporting the facts as they come up, besides the ONLY aircraft attack since 9-11 was by a republican against the IRS, and was that a joke? I DON'T THINK SO. I just hope these idiots keep making these mistakes and getting busted.

Meh...
One 26 year old man, or lone wolf terrorist as the media likes to say, couldn't do all of that by himself.
Federal agents were going to give him, or made believe that they were going to give him bombs guns and remotely guided systems for planes to carry out attacks. In my view that makes them guilty of conspiring to create terrorism, or conspiring to create the perception of terrorism.
