They are scratching the bottom of the barrel trying to tie this to eric Holder yrt will not evn investigate what is going on with Murdoch and their wiretapping. This congress is so corrupt and inept, maybe Bachman was right about some of them being unAmerican.

"A CBS reporter that has been aggressively investigating this story was recently screamed at and cussed at by a high ranking official that works in the White House."
Well, that about seals it for me! Shut down the government!!!

You notice that the Obama administration and all of the anti-2nd amendment groups are being very quiet about passing gun restrictions laws these days.
I wonder how the Brady Foundation or whatever they call themselves feel about government sponsored gun-running and the fact that an American border security agent (probably left behind a family) was killed because of it.

This was an attempt to trace guns going into Mexico illegally, not some subrosa attempt to do something illegal. This is another distraction for the idiots in Congress trying to proect their monied interests. Remember White Water and the millions Starr wasted trying to find something on the Clinton's? It's odd how they always find money for stupidity, but not for jobs programs. I say vote them all out.Darrell Issa needs to be investigated for malfeasance.

That sounds like an apologist talk to me, but I do agree that we don't need to be involved with Mexico.
It's an absurd law enforcement tactic, just like it is to have the FBI give a potential terrorist money, housing, bombs, guns and logistical support just to see if they will try and carry out a terrorist attack.

As you well know, they never give them operational material. There is always something wrong that stops it from working. That nut who created that operation was reassigned along with the two officers in charge.Seriously, has there ever been a Dem Administration that indulged in that kind of scandalous behavior? I'm no apologist. I just know it's always easy to Monday morning quarterback from the sidelines. It's more like benefit of the doubt. I wouldn't trust Issa at the best of times.I lived through Iran-Contra, The S&L, Watergate and the like. lots of money wasted that was spent for political reasons only to be whitewashed in the end. Issa"s just trying to stop Holder from investigating their big money boys and Murdoch.

Didn't hear if the government gave him the material, but did hear that they had enough information to stop it. Did i miss something? Was it just incompetence or was it something else?

The false war on drugs serves only to generate profits and control the population. Any politician who supports the war on drugs (such as Obama appointing Michele Leonhart to head the DEA) is a terrorist against the American people.

Holder needs to be prosecuted for conspiracy to violate the National Firearms Act and Obummer needs to go. Particularly reprehensible is when this began the usual cast of characters jumped on the lax gun laws bandwagon in an attempt to make hay out of this to violate some more civil rights. Blamed all this on straw man puchases (there were but were fed gov straw men) in an attempt to revive the ineffective Assault Weapons Ban.

"Bring down the administration"? What is that person smoking?? This is a serious issue, but in light of the many other and much more serious and demanding issues we are facing in this country, it doesn't amount to much.

Seems like all of you are birds of a feather. No amount of truth will penetrate your wall of ignorance. so i will exit this conversation. But sometimes it's better to do more research than to pass judgement before all the facts are in.

that's just the tip of the iceberg...the border States (TX & AZ) are the ones who provide the majority of weapons (assault rifles +) that end up in the Mexican drug cartels & need 2 b regulated bigtime...i'm all for peeps having the right to own rifles (hunters/target) or hanguns (home protection) etc...but freakin assault rifles & even worse?...come'on now, give me a freakin break...that's total insanity...those States are culpable of perpetuating mass murder in Mexico!

From the GAO:
Available evidence indicates a large proportion of the firearms fueling Mexican drug violence originated in the United States, including a growing number of increasingly lethal weapons. While it is impossible to know how many firearms are illegally trafficked into Mexico in a given year, around 87 percent of firearms seized by Mexican authorities and traced over the past 5 years originated in the United States, according to data from ATF. Around 68 percent of these firearms were manufactured in the United States, and around 19 percent were manufactured in third countries and imported into the United States before being trafficked into Mexico. According to U.S. and Mexican government officials, these firearms have been increasingly more powerful and lethal in recent years. For example, many of these firearms are high-caliber and high-powered, such as AK and AR-15 type semiautomatic rifles. Many of these firearms come from gun shops and gun shows in Southwest border states, such as Texas, California, and Arizona, according to ATF officials and trace data.
