We need to create localized and independent economies where people own the natural resources and share them, where we let mother nature do its work instead of massively terraforming the planet.

make that,....free beer AFTER the G U I L L O T I N E .
Lets call it the free beer party.
. . . . .and then of course, we peasants can fight amongst ourselves at length,.....preferably after the hangover has subsided somewhat.

We are taught in school that there are three branches of government. The executive, the legislative and the judicial. I say there should be four, "The Citizenry" After all its "We the People", right?
At the least we should be one large "Oversight Committe" , (99% strong)That keeps the other three in check. Like the old saying goes, "Who's policing the police"? We should make this "Civic Duty", a mandate, on the books.
This way we may never again be BULLSHITTED by biased news, negative campain ads, or sensationalist "Stories".We must reject this "Us v. Them" Randian philosophy, and return to what our Founding Fathers first principle was, ---------"WE"--------- the People".

I could not agree with you more Peteles33. "We the people" has been forgotten. The protests on Wall Street and around the country are about U.S. and nothing more. We want what is ours and it is way past time to take back our country before it is way to late. The GOP and Tea Bags scream of Second Amendment rights...but I read them to say that we are allowed to arm ourselves against a tyrannical government in order to protect the people.
Don't get me wrong here. I'm not saying we need to arm ourselves. But too some degree...our armaments must be adorned to take back our country from the corrupt politicians and corporations. These arms are not guns...but Americans in the streets in solidarity and humble protest.

Yep, good old social contract. The thing is that what id defined as new government may vary. You may have the elected party in power that can be defined as the government or just the whole general institution. However the people do it, its either through the electoral process or through street protests and violence.

The first collective statement from Occupy Wall Street read aloud by Keith Olbermann from tonight's Countdown. Beautiful. The people have spoken.

My (limited) understanding is, that very thing - what form this would be - is what is being discussed by the very fine "Occupy" people right now.
