"In the end, Righthaven simply didn't have a legal leg to stand on. Having been present for the legal arguments before the court, it was obvious from the start that Righthaven had simply painted themselves into a legal corner. It was actually quite sad to witness."

    • Cabal, the link you posted is only to the jpeg of the flag image. A link to the article would be nice, or at least confirmation that the article letsliveinpeace is guessing as being what you posted about is the article you meant to link to.

IF that is what OP tried to link to, it is good news. Had read that in some instances, Righthaven was going so far as to accuse web sites of copyright violation if they used ANY word in a synopsis of an article if that word was in the original. IOW, they were going after people for using language in online discussions of print news. It's a bit like Sarah Palin trademarking her own name, only involving words even more common than Sarah Palin.

It created some real havoc and fear on may discussion forums that just could not risk being sued. I really figured that was the whole point. Bet if somebody dug deep enough, they would find some connection between Righthaven and any number of RW fat cat sponsors of the corruption of American politics and democracy. There are some elements who do not like democracy and will try anything to subvert the good and necessary sharing of information so voters can be informed, truly informed. IOW, look deep enough and I betcha there is a trail of some sort to the Brothers Koch.
