Russia Today should be talking about it's own problems in Russia itself. I mean it is called Russia Today, oh wait, its government owned so it won't talk about stories like this:

And we can't forget the photo editor who was sent US military produced anthrax (and died)after publishing photos of Bush's drunk daughters. That definitely had a chilling effect on American main stream media.

All this posturing and chest thumping about beheadings, pitchforks, torches etc. is lame and tiring. This thing will not go there. Trying that will result in a lot more down than the 700 charged at the Brooklyn Bridge.

If we would only free the job creators from ALL regulation, then they would no longer be afraid or uncertain, (plus, they could jail US all and who would/could complain?) Slaves don't complain or they get beat! Subordinates don't complain because they might lose their below minimum wage job. Fat cats don't complain because they have five houses and more money then Midas could dream of from suckers that have not quire figured out they have been financially raped! The problem with being Elmer Gantry and Mr. Ponzi is that some people can go all "irrational" on your ass and who can stop them? Will those who refuse to pay their fair share have to fear walking or riding the public streets? Quien sabe?

Oh my goodness absolutely not. Look at what a few of the things that need to go or need modification. Corporate, and rich individual, influence and lobbying on government. Fix this by removing the power the government has. With a limit on the power the gov has there will be a limit on the pillow talk between gov and the corps/wealthy individuals. Face it, without authority who will get in bed with them? This first paragraph covers most of it. It deals with the Fed, bankers, lobbyists.
Along with these limitations we also need to limit the ancillary taxes and regulation that inhibit business here. Dodd/Frank is killing job creation incentive. This does not mean NO regulations. 47% of the people in this country pay no federal income tax but we are still getting killed at the cash register. Bush added something like 850 billion in compliance costs and Obama some 1.2 trillion. These costs add to a companys expenses and run up prices. They are a hidden tax. Check your cell phone bill, internet bill, etc. All have taxes associated with them. Another cost to the taxpayer.
Stop being the policeman of the world. No more need be said on this subject. It is self explanatory.
Welfare programs need to be looked at carefully and with a sharp knife. Despite the general welfare clause in the Constitution that document does not provide for welfare generally.
As far as I am concerned we need to stop all aid to foreign countries and the U.N. at least until our economic mess is settled.
Stop the progressive tax system. Institute a flat percentage tax applicable to everyone. No deductions, no exemptions. Three lines on the 1040: Income, tax rate and tax payable.
We need to hold our representatives feet to the fire to ensure that their first perrogative is the freedom and rights of the people. Welfare is not freedom, neither is taxation. Stop ignoring the government and its functions because, much like little children, it gets in trouble when ignored. - 8 months ago

Language such as that destroys the any credibility the protesters have. It turns them into a fringe group. Removing the bankers and the Fed from their sphere of influence and power is a good thing. Imposition of more government, programs, Marxism I will not support.

Yep. It is not at all what any of the "Occupy" people have said or even implied. All I have heard from any one there and involved is peaceful and respectful. The gentleman in the video is just someone offering his perspective... from the outside.
He is in no way part of what is happening. :-)

While I can understand the sentiment of anger and frustration expressed in the video, the talk of beheadings and such... well, I cannot go there myself.
He is trying to put things in terms, and calling for actions he believes "they" (Wall Street, corrupt politicians, etc.) will understand and respond to. Is that the jest of it?
From my perspective, and speaking only for myself, following his advice is stepping onto "their" playing field. I do not care to be a player in "their" game, on "their" field. From my perspective, this is not about leveling the playing field, this is about changing fields altogether, and changing/stopping their game.
If it comes to the violence he mentions, I will not participate.

Now you have moved it into a different realm, KB.
If someone comes into my home, and attempts to take the life of any of my family, or myself, I am capable of killing them (the intruder) to stop them. Of that, I have no doubt. I have lost a son already. I would do anything in my power to not lose another family member.
But in the realm of these protests, and the desired changes in our way of life in America - and the world, for that matter - this requires an assumption that peaceful protest and peaceful resistance will not bring the desired change. That is not my perspective or belief. Matter of fact, I believe peaceful dissent is the *only* way to successfully bring about the desired change. :-)

But, that too, is slowly changing. I see the great work KO is doing recently with the "Occupy" movement. I see tiny sparks of hope for truthful reporting on a few networks (an interesting ABC piece about the Koch Bros is posted on Current dot com right now, which you put up).
So, at least there are signs of hope.

There was a lot of noise when Giffords was shot about the "words" and Palins surveyors marks that were misconstrued as reticles. There are enough nuts out there who will take this ball and run with it. I'm with chew_chew, stuff like this will result in big problems. If so, it will be interesting to see if the left holds Roseanne and Keiser as well as others who espouse this type of behavior responsible.

Yeah, we will be out beheading Wall Streeters in the public square tomorrow, sure. And carrying pitchforks. If you can't understand metaphor, I can't help you. The right wing puts very vivid images of gun use in the public mind and defends weapons at political rallys but are quick to attack metaphorical descriptions of the left's disgust with those who are attacking the average citizen with their words and deeds every day. Who's more to blame? The people who brought about this level of anger that has boiled up to where it's at.

I support the movement and have even gone down to my own City Hall where there is a group of "Occupy" campers to show my support. I let my anger and frustration with people in general get the better of my "mouth" sometimes. So it comes out in my posts. I am only trying to say that there is a way for us to actually END the Wall Street greed if we worked together and took some very simple steps.
While I support the movement, and empathize with their grievances and their goals. However, I think their "Occupation" will be fruitless in the sense that this is becoming America's "Let them eat cake" moment, and I wish to avoid the violence that the last one caused.

"I am only trying to say that there is a way for us to actually END the Wall Street greed if we worked together and took some very simple steps."
From my (still quite limited) understanding, that is exactly what the "Occupy" movement is all about: deciding what steps we want to take, then taking the steps together. It is unfolding as does a movie, though. Many of us want to see it as a photograph. Many of us think we already have the photograph, and as we show it to others, cannot understand why they do not see the same thing in the photo that we see. We want all the answers, and actions we should take, in one quick look. However, in this instance - my opinion only - we must watch the movie, to see how it unfolds. But we can do more than just watch the movie, we can help write the script, we can be *in* the movie: we can participate.
And it is our *participation* which supplies the energy, and in turn fuels the "Occupy" movement.
But it will not, by its very nature, happen in a 15 second prime-time sound bite, which is partially why most of the MSM cannot wrap their heads around this, imho. Anyone who has run a business, developed a personal budget, or even just lived on their own being responsible for feeding themselves, is aware that the first step in solving a problem is *accurately* *identifying* the problem. That is the opening scene of this "movie." That's what we are witnessing, and many of us participating in, now. The problem is being identified, and agreed upon. The movie has just started, and will progress at its own speed.
Many of us may feel we already know how the opening scene should look, and who the players should be. But - and this is part of the beauty of the "Occupy" movement, from my perspective - the cast is already in the millions... although, that may not be obvious to many, at the moment. There are more good ideas than just "my" ideas. There are more grievances than just "mine."
How will the movie end? Not sure yet. It's partially why I liken it to a movie. A lot of the joy is watching it unfold, writing the script as we go, and participating in this wonderful shared-experience journey. The ends do not justify the means, the means *are* the ends. For a peaceful result... you can fill in the rest. :-)
But - still speaking from just my perspective, and only for myself - one thing *is* certain, and it's the cliche we have all heard SO many times, but which has, as of yet, never been delivered: in order to achieve different results, we *must* take different actions. And the is one thing I think we can ALL agree on, we have never witnessed - or for so many of us, participated in - ANYTHING like this, ever before.
I should add, participation comes in many forms. Being *in* the movie does not necessarily mean being on camera. :-)
I think I rambled enough for now.

What a thoughtful and thorough post.
I believe some of this is what is being discussed by the "Occupy" folks, from my (still quite limited) understanding. And while I personally agree with almost all of what you posted, I think it may be a little early to expect the "Occupy" folks to endorse any politician's proposals, or any politician.
That may (or may not) come, with time.
My feelings on that may be a little easier to understand if you read my last post in response to hammywill.
Then again, none of what I have said anywhere may make any sense at all. I speak only on behalf of myself. :-)
