I was coming out of the supper market the other day and there were three uniformed men, with a table and banner and were collecting money for homeless vets. I am against war, but am not so naive as to think we don't need to have a system of protection. I wondered how it ever got to the point that you could risk your life for a society and then be left homeless, just ain't right.

This is wonderful that military veterans are speaking out in such a manner, but I am fearful of escalation.
Specifically escalation like the equivalent of the swiftboat vets who were against Kerry. All it takes is a few people who served (and I use that term loosely I might add) who are willing to slander and lie about their fellow vets, and I'm fairly certain that at least one company of the media would be all over such an occurrence.

I love the feeling of solidarity with all our brothers & sisters of the world free of hate and racism which have been used to keep US apart and so we could not discover the full extent of our power! "we fought for our country overseas and we fought to keep our people safe then, we will non-violently fight for our poor and suffering here until we fix it!" Now that is American patriotism, not the phony "say this and I will pay you" crap we have seen from the right!

That's a good point and Jesse LaGreca is pretty good at communicating the points that OWS has protesting. I doubt that Sean Hannity would ever agree to interview him because Jesse is too articulate for him, so I agree with the sentiment those soldiers expressed.

their composure is stunning. I realized I am to angry to be peaceful. I am tired. I have argued and screamed and talked till I am bluein the face. Occupy has come in the nick of time for me. I have gotten so isolated I don't talk to my fellows citizens here because they always say something mean and stupid. I found out today that canon city is starting an Occupy. thank god. there are a few more here in this very red county.

This is great! These 2 vets rock! This is who we need to hear from--the Vets. They have been so badly shafted. We need them to speak out with the rest of the 99% and help end these damn wars. Hannity would not have the guts to come into that crowd. They would have him for lunch....after they told him to f**k off!

If the men and women in the biggest employer left in the U.S. awake to possibility that they have a voice in changing the way America has been run into the ground things will change rapidly so fast it will make your head spin.
Some people, like Pat Tillman's family and friends, and hundreds of thousands of others, get angry and active when they understand they have been used as an instrument to destroy what they most value.
Bring it on.

This is good to see. When the revolt does come, it will be more like Egypt with the military on our side. Most people in the military are liberal, thats why the Colorado Attorney General is trying to stop the mailing of ballots to those that server.

He didn't have to he could have gotten out as well, he went, and came back and protested. then they pillory him. don't you know people get beat down after a while.

Sean Hannity and all the people who label protesters as Unpatriotic are out to lunch. A patriot is a person who loves their country enough and has enough courage to speak out when it is making mistakes. We were called unpatriotic when we protested the Iraq War - an illegal war of aggressive - not defense - which we are still paying for (a big chunk of our debt is because of the unfunded war) and recovering from all the loss of lives, and freedoms, civil liberties, and self-respect and undermining of our moral authority as a country which used to stand for liberty and justice for all.
