Lies of Robert Reich.
1. Robert Reich is democrat working for democrats. As such, It is like a wolf telling us the 6 biggest lies of sheep management.
2. Robert Reich makes money by polarizing the political field. The more you hate republicans, the more money he makes.
3. All of his statistics have other viewpoints. Really, the country grew more after WW2 than now? Duh? It wasn't due to high taxes, idiot. After that, the rest is just pandering.

"1. Robert Reich is democrat working for democrats. As such, It is like a wolf telling us the 6 biggest lies of sheep management. "
That really does not qualify as a lie since he did not claim that he was not a Democrat.
"2. Robert Reich makes money by polarizing the political field. The more you hate republicans, the more money he makes. "
Going to need some sources on that one turbo.
"3. All of his statistics have other viewpoints. Really, the country grew more after WW2 than now? Duh? It wasn't due to high taxes, idiot."
Yeah, it wasn't due to the high taxes. On a completely different note, the tanking of the economy had absolutely nothing to do with trickle down economics, Reagan's tax cuts, and/or tax cuts there after. Oh, wait, they did. Crap bad example...
The United States economy was picking up out of the depression before the United States entered the second world war. A large part of that was due to the government taxing the rich for upwards of 70% and using that money to fund government jobs like the Hoover Dam. When the United States entered into the second world war shit loads of jobs were created. A lot of those jobs, soldiers, military engineers, builders for war machines, etc., were funded by the government which was funded by the high tax rates on the top 1%.
But we're actually getting away from the real problem at hand with your #3. The problem is that you are either deaf or an idiot. Robert Reich did not claim that high taxes on the rich were the cause of economic growth. He claimed that high taxes on the rich do not hurt the economy. If high taxes on the rich hurt the economy, then our economy would not have grown as it did between WW2 and the 1980s but would have tanked instead.

34 million people need jobs. You want to throw more people out of work simply because they are government jobs? Counter productive I'd say. How do you think we get the money to support the programs and services we all need and require? Without the income government jobs provide we would be in even worse shape than we are now. It's simple economics. Tell all those people who are unemployed that we're going to cut more jobs and limit their opportunities even further and they would have every right to stick your head in a guillotine.

"Without the income government jobs provide"? Government jobs only provide an income for one person. No income is created beyond the job income itself. Give the infrastructure jobs to private companies, they will hire employees.

Government jobs and the income they provide and the revenue they contribute to tax revenues and Social Security and other government programs, which all of us take advantage of on a daily basis, are part of the backbone of our economic system . The federal government is the largest employer in the US. The more jobs that are cut the less money will be contributed to our system. If you don't understand that, then I seriously doubt yopu understand economics at all.

They also spend their wages which means $$ for businesses, who then can hire more people, who pay taxes and spend THEIR wages, and that all ripples.

I just want to say that my estimate may be a little bit lower than your total of how many people need jobs, but you could very well be correct. I will say this, at least your number is in the ballpark, that's more than I can say about the numbers I hear from the media and our elected officials. I don't believe they or any of the economist know the true number since they keep shuffling the deck and trading cards. I know this though, it's an election year and it will be all roses and sunshine until the president is re-elected or Europe fails. . . Whichever comes first. Except in the impossibility that a Republican were to get elected, then we're surely doomed as a nation.

Great find, Kenny!
Gotta love Robert Reich; he's as direct as they come, and a true treasure as an teacher and an economist.
This should be played on main stream media every hour on every station for the next month or so--a small palliative to the ocean of self-serving distortion and lies pumped out every second by Fox and "friends."Eventually people get tired of being lied to and manipulated.
The natural and long overdue reaction is a healthy dose of righteous anger and effective, direct action.
The time has come to pull the plug on Rupert Murdock and the Koch Brothers propaganda machine. - 8 months ago

If the mainstream media wasn't a for-profit business run by the very people who benefit from the people's ignorance, and the media and our schools did their job (informing/educating the public), everyone would already know this. There is no such thing as democracy without a well-informed public.
