Armed to the teeth, millions of able body long term unemployed are headed for Washington D.C.
http://www.this-page-intentionally-left-blank.org/
After news of the Jobs bill submitted by Republicans in the U.S. Senate was nothing but Tax cuts and deregulation today, hundreds of unemployed leaders of groups have decided nothing is being accomplished by protests now on going for four weeks. Several of the leaders were contacted by phone and many of them are on the same page. One in particular said we can use his name because he is not afraid to die rather then seeing his family living in a car anymore. Tom Wise (Wouldn't disclose his location) said enough is enough, I've been unemployed or under employed for three years now and the Rich just don't care about us anymore. Tom who has had plenty of time on his hands over this period of time to form a volunteer group of over 500 able bodied men and women itching for a real fight with the powers that be. Tom is just one of a network of American Patriotic leaders stretched over the entire country mobilizing this week for what they call the second American Revolution. In another encampment in a undisclosed National Forrest, Bob Sutter got word from a national movement officer that it appears we are on the move. Bob a former Special Forces Officer has remained in touch with countless Veterans also in dire straights and out of work with no future to look forward too. They shipped my job along with the factory overseas and he can smell how rotten the political scene has become. When the people are no longer represented in D.C. it is time to march! Chris Mellon an Iraq and Afghanistan Veteran agreed with Bob, it's now or never. The people who have remained patient with their non-violent protest all over the country are appreciated but Chris said he knows for a fact nothing is being accomplished except wasting time. For the safety of the people involved with this march, this reporter has agreed not to disclose any further details. I can tell you though, these folks are armed to the teeth and very focused on what needs to be done. Time is running out, these folks are serious!Although this is a fictional story, I can see this happening for real!

Unfortunately a bunch of armed veterans showing up in DC is all the excuse that would be needed to forcibly shut down the protests everywhere. Whereas I sympathize with these folks 100%, I see this as self defeating and a threat to the entire OWS movement. Their support is appreciated, not their weapons.

Capitalism is in stage 4 cancer, we are observing the end of the game. The makers of the board game Monopoly designed it for a reason, educating people during the first great depression. What good is life if everyone is in it for their own gain. Thanks everyone for reading or commenting on the post, my intent was to shock people for a real discussion on what direction we should take our country. Sorry if I offended anyone, but with the demise of Capitalism playing out in front of us, we should all be aware there are real people destroyed by the monster called Capitalism.

Thanks.!! Good idea!!!! The scariest part for me is that such a scenario is not too big a reach. I think there is a cohort of people in this country who are seething...not the type to show up at an Occupy site somewhere and peacefully protest, the type that wouldn't take a whole lot of provocation to launch something similar to your post.
One of the things that made it especially believable was the ex-military involvement. Since Vietnam we have treated our returning heroes like second class citizens; withholding services, denying the seriousness of many different illnesses both physical and psychological etc etc...I can understand clearly where there would be seething in that group.
Spent time in the car today listening to CNN/MSNBC/NPR/BBC and struck by the common thread from the pundits and pols. There is no sense of urgency yet. All talked about nothing could change until after elections next year, and then only if there is a real willingness to compromise etc. etc. We don't have that much time...

There were some things happening today that might offer a glimmer of hope...protests in Milan...London...Paris...and the global events of 10/15 including the march on Times Square (those tourists are going to flip freakin' out)...Geitner (and I don't blieve a thing he says at this point), speaking today talked about reforms of Wall Street...there are some things that are encouraging...
I'm not naive enough to think that this is the beginning of real or meaningful action, but it is the beginning of the change in dialog...a week ago Hillary Clinton wasn't saying things like "we" have a responsibility to address the expectations of the American people etc. Historically great change never took place until the language changed...the language is starting to change let's hope it drives meaningful change sooner than later...
Don't lose the faith, you are doing great work here...keep it up!!!! I don't know what the critical mass of this movement will be, but we will get there...

My best guess would be Socialism, with a highly regulated Capitalistic side like in Denmark. I have said this before but few heard my answer! Socialized Democracy, when a Corporation has to prove it is worthy of a Corporate charter and the advantages of limited liability that come with that charter. That said Corporation would have to prove every year they are operating in the best interests of the people or citizens of this country. If not they get the Corporate death penalty, dissolved!

Well that is where we differ. I don't believe in any socialism. I prefer freedom. Who makes the rules? Who decides what is in the best interests of the country? This may change depending on who is in office. Sounds too subjective to me but this would be a democracy. This is why I also do not like a democracy. Having to prove to some government official that I am worthy of doing business is completely contrary to both free markets and freedom. Sounds more like tyranny to me.

I never thought the bailouts were a good idea, for the banks or anyone. The banks should have been forced to take the write downs as should have everyone else. Japan did the same thing, 10 bailouts over ten years totaling about one Trillion rather than take the write downs. 20 years later they are still not in very good shape.
If you are referring to tax deductions and credits for oil companies, I have never done an energy company return or audited an energy company. I am not that familiar with their tax laws. That said, the tax laws need to be redone in the HOuse Ways and Means Commitee but bailouts are an administrative decision, if those idiots on the Hill pass it. - 1 year ago

The Rip-us-off-icans should seriously re-think their position - and I am sure such a fictional story will do a lot to remind them they are screwing with people's lives and that they are mere mortals.
I would very seriously hate to see violence - especially now since violence really isn't necessary as continued and persistent pressure and non-violent protests will produce the desired outcome of both increasing the populations awareness and outing those scum who take the office of representing their constituents, but who do not.

How's this sound to you....
ACLU Attorneys Lose Historic Habeas Corpus Petition
After a lenghty dispute litigated all the way to the Supreme Court, a divided court ruled that Tom Wise and other members of a domestic terrorist group, currently detained at Guantanamo Bay, is not entitled to a writ of habeas corpus and is to be detained indefinitely as a domestic extremist. It is undecided as to whether he and his group of alleged terrorists will face a military commission or will ever be tried in a civilian court.
The United States still remains under a domestic state of emergency declared two years ago by the President. Justice Clarence Thomas, in his concurring opinion, wrote: "The powers of the federal government to suppress domestic insurrections are clear, and the founders of this country envisioned a day of a massive slave uprising."
Over the last two years, several thousand domestic extremists have been killed by police and other law enforcement agencies. Justice Antonin Scalia noted "that this is a horrible time in our history, and the founders would truly be ashamed of us. However, we live in an age where terrorism not only threatens us from outside our borders, but within our very towns and cities."
Chief Justice Roberts, delivering the opinion of the court, held that the federal government had the power to indefinitely detain domestic extremists and that the National Security Agency had the exclusive power to determine and declare potential enemies of the state. It remains unclear as to the constitutionality of the NSA's new program of "Shoot first. Ask questions later." However, a case is working its way up through the circuit courts.
In the shortest dissent ever penned, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, joined by justices Breyer, Kagan and Sotomayor simply stated: "This nation is fucked."
ACLU spokesman Vic Romano stated: "This ruling is an outrage, yes. But we should have seen it coming."

This is an excerpt from a brilliant AlterNet article I found on Tumblr:
“This is a goal the power elite cannot comprehend. They cannot envision a day when they will not be in charge of our lives. The elites believe, and seek to make us believe, that globalization and unfettered capitalism are natural law, some kind of permanent and eternal dynamic that can never be altered. What the elites fail to realize is that rebellion will not stop until the corporate state is extinguished. It will not stop until there is an end to the corporate abuse of the poor, the working class, the elderly, the sick, children, those being slaughtered in our imperial wars and tortured in our black sites.
It will not stop until foreclosures and bank repossessions stop. It will not stop until students no longer have to go into debt to be educated, and families no longer have to plunge into bankruptcy to pay medical bills. It will not stop until the corporate destruction of the ecosystem stops, and our relationships with each other and the planet are radically reconfigured. And that is why the elites, and the rotted and degenerate system of corporate power they sustain, are in trouble. That is why they keep asking what the demands are. They don’t understand what is happening. They are deaf, dumb and blind."

I am happy this is only fictional.
Although it may not be glaringly apparent, much good is being done by the Occupy movement. Violence is a tool of others, not Occupy. Violence would only set back the gains so wholeheartedly and bravely being championed by Occupy.
The frustration put forth in this piece is understandable, but violence would put us on the same level as those/what we are protesting against.
Violence is not part of the solution, it is part of the problem.
Speaking only from my perspective, and only for myself.

Violence is NEVER the best solution. From either side. Anyone who would bring a PitchFork to a debate is a fool and a large part of the problem.
We are trying to have a debate here, in our Country, to find a consensus. In a 'debate', it is better to be wounded unfairly than to wound another and your word. For by Truth, the unfairly injured party wins.
If violence is out of the picture, the Truth is the only thing left to see.I think we're better than that article, I do not think violence will be necessary. I think (hope) sane voices will be heard.
