    • It was a male. Not female. No there are not two different people that got punched in the face. Just one male at about 6 different angles. That's how many videos I found. One in particular looks a little rehearsed to me.

    • This is NOT the same video that was posted this morning. It has been switched, tampered with, who knows what? Well, obviously, somebody knows something, but I don't know what is going on. I am posting two separate pictures for you to examine yourself. Whoever did this is intentionally trying to either cover something up, or create an alternative version of what really happened. Take a close look and decide for yourself. This is like playing one of those child's games where you find out what is different in the two pictures...ain't that much of a stretch. While I agree with Joy, that both videos show police brutality, I have to question why the original video was altered, replaced, whatever. In the replacement video, the guy shows up prominently in the left corner at :04 -- the time I noted in my comments this morning -- but HE WASN"T there when I watched the video this morning, and I watched it very carefully, over and over again....and to all the graphic artists out there, you know what is possible with a few skills and photoshop. Something about this smells like fish.....

Clue 1: One of these people has a black bag, one has a white bag.

Thank you for posting both of these for us to compare, Incredulous.

One thing I noticed is that the shoulder strap on the bag is BLACK on *both* videos, so it makes me wonder if the "white" bag is a "reflection from the angle of the light" on the top photo?

I realize it's entirely possible, but it's kind of hard to believe a white bag would have a black shoulder strap. (Both pics also show the person wearing a green shirt/top, unless my eyes are deceiving me.) Please correct me if I'm wrong.

      Your thoughts?

I thought about the light too, but there is too much else going on, and truthfully, I wish you could have seen the video this morning. I watched it over and over again, and it was very much a woman being hit. In the morning video, the woman had long green sleeves on, very slender arms, and I think the picture remaining in this post has been through Photoshop, just not very well done. Also, the cop who is hitting her has been blurred, but he seems to have glasses on in video one. Plus, she appears to have a scarf around her neck, whereas the guy has an open collar, huge difference in the curve of the shoulders, but the more I say, I have a feeling, the more will be covered up. I took the screen shot of the video about 10 minutes ago, but now the arrow on the video is in a different place....the differences were even more glaring this morning, her hair was darker, longer, appeared to be a braid down her back, but even now, there are marked differences in the hair, and if you watch the second video, which is (or was) at the link below (BP GulfLeak), you can tell in a heartbeat that these are not the same heads of hair, most of us know hair too well to miss it.....hairline is soooooooo different.

these are all things a quick trip through Photoshop can alter, it just wasn't a consistently done alteration....

watched them all, and this one, again, is not the same one that was posted this morning. Hard to be sure something is fishy if you hadn't watched the one this morning that was clearly NOT this guy. My question is why.

    • Did anyone get the coop's name? I sure hope someone had the sense to note that and his badge number. These cops are obviously there to do nothing more than look for opportunities to provoke fights in the hope that a riot will break out. Why so many cops? and, why such hostility on their parts? Isn't their union getting them double time and a half?

Queenofit posted a comment about the white shirt cops on another story...very interesting:

"Not sure, but I have been reading stories online that the NYPD "white shirts" are "New York City police officers often moonlight for the New York Stock Exchange and Wall Street corporations, as Pam Martens carefully details in a story published this morning on CounterPunch.com.

The companies can order the private detail “with the ease of dialing the deli for a pastrami on rye,” Martens writes.

The little-known Paid Detail Unit was established by then-Mayor Rudy Giuliani in 1998.

According to Martens: “The corporations pay an average of $37 an hour (no medical, no pension benefit, no overtime pay) for a member of the NYPD, with gun, handcuffs and the ability to arrest. The officer is indemnified by the taxpayer, not the corporation.”" in that same article I am quoting and will source it, goes on to say "The city gets a 10 percent administrative fee for allowing officers to take the side job in uniform – as long as they wear white shirts instead of the rank-and-file dark blue uniforms." That MAY be why there are so many white shirts, and I am thinking it makes sense. Here is my source, btw, I did a very fast google, I am sure others are reporting on this as well, this is the first article I found: http://www.cliffviewpilot.com/editorial/2870-was-nypd-white-shirt-with-pepper-sp..."

Check the videos yourself, two different videos were posted with two different subjects, one of them was a woman. That is research. The guy someone is claiming was the woman does not match the video above at all....correction, DID not match the video above, it has been altered or replaced.

I am a dudette. I am good with the fact illumination. I was just saying that the act itself was more important than the sex of the victim. It is funny that police have been screwed over by Wall Street too and yet some of them still do not pass up an opportunity to use excessive violence against people that are actually standing up for them.

    • This is exactly the same mentality and lack of leadership by Chief Kelly and Mayor Moneybags that led to the Kent State killings 41 years ago. The problem here is there is no end game. There is no, if you do this, we go home. In the 60s and 70s we wanted the war to end. Today, we want a radical change in the way things are done. We do not believe the game is fair. If all the tarp money just paid for all the bad mortgages, we would be better off as a country. If the tax code was reformed, people would be happier. When we have to pay to use a bank's ATM machine while they play with our money for basically free, that is wrong. This is, in sense, class warfare - and the winner has to be the middle-class. Congress needs to be redefined and those people need to be changed out. Term limits on EVERY representative will make the government work better. I can no longer trust a "career" politician. They have nothing to work for other than re-election. The police (old guard generals) in Egypt have taken over, we must make sure the police in America do not take over. They don't need to use violence, it only makes the case for change that much more potent. Put away the mace and the knuckle sandwiches NYPD, THE WHOLE WORLD IS WATCHING.

White shirts seem to be hell bent on creating a violent reaction. Blue shirts need to go in search of investigations of why, as the actions of provocation are putting THEM at risk. Use the system to beat the system.

YouTube has been known to censor things and slant for The Powers That Be. Would not surprise me one bit if they took down one video and substituted a different one on that URL. They have done it before.

I gotta learn how to mirror and archive web pages. TPTB are going to be pulling all sorts of crap like this in the effort to discredit the PEOPLE. Mirror pages and if we can get some friends overseas to do that, all the better!

Count your blessings while you count your cash WallStreet. Those of us who are out in the streets will already know how to survive. We already know you can't eat your gold or your stock certificates. When we finally meet in the street, perhaps we will vote on whether we help you or not. Good luck with that. Solidarity, Unity, We are one! ☮☮❤❤

    • that piece of shit should be dealt with....I don't understand this. If cops are trying to disperse crowds WHY IN THE HELL WOULD YOU INCITE A RIOT LIKE THIS???????? When people finally start clashing with the police they will only have themselves to blame for this. America quit being pussies and start this thing NOW

There are two potential answers that I can think of.

The first is that these police that we are seeing performing the violent acts are just idiots and bullies who managed to get a job with a gun and a badge. Now it has been very apparent recently that these guys should not have this job, but with the exception of a select few that really get media attention for their actions, not many will receive serious punitive action for their own actions.

The second is that at least a few police have received "orders" to actually turn the protest into a riot. The idea is that if the crowd actually does turn violent then anti riot measures can be taken, paving the way for good old fashioned 1960's and 1970's hippie like beat downs. The "orders" could be from actual police officials, or they could be from people with money who just want the big and unappealing crowd to go away and are willing to try to bribe a few cops.

Personally, I think the truth lies somewhere in the middle, probably closer to the first answer than the second.

It is not that I think the second scenario is unrealistic because it is beyond those who would bribe police to incite a riot, it is because I think that the mass of the protest has passed the point where a riot could be contained quickly and effectively. And although they are corrupt, the people who would bribe police to do such things are not usually so stupid that such a thing would evade their attention.

Would it be French Revolution like Glenn Beck spouts in his fear peddling show? I very seriously doubt it. But this is probably the most active protest that a lot of those people on wall street have seen and I would not doubt that at least a few of them are proverbially shitting their pants right now.

    • If you watch this angle, you can see that it is a man. HE is HIV positive, and warned the cop needs to get tested. http://www.thestreet.com/video/11277783/occupy-wall-street-vs-police-fighting-br...

During the chaotic Occupy Wall Street march through the financial district this morning, we witnessed a protester on William Street get punched in the face by a police officer, seemingly without provocation. He says the officer hit him so hard his earring got knocked out, but he managed to escape arrest. We caught up with the protester later: his name is Felix Rivera-Pitre, and he told us what happened and how he got away.
Rivera-Pitre, who is HIV positive and used to be a dancer, tells us he was walking a little bit in front of the police on William Street, and admits he "shot the cop a look." But then, according to Rivera-Pitre (and this is in line with what we witnessed), "The cop just lunged at me full throttle and hit me on the left side of my face. It tore my earring out. I remember seeing my earring on the ground next to me and it was full of blood. I was completely dumbstruck. I'm HIV positive and that cop should get tested."

Video here shows what happened leading up to the punch:

I don't think so....if you look at the two videos and compare them, this guy is not the same person as the woman who was assaulted in the video at the top of this page. In the video you are referring to, at 1:31 and :04, you can clearly see this guy from the back and side, and if you compare the two videos, the woman in the posted video is NOT the guy in the video you are referring to. In the video at the top of the page, it is clearly a woman being assaulted, freeze above video at :11-:12...two different people. Also, his body language is completely different than hers, her shoulders go up and in when the cop grabs her, the body language of the guy in your link is more defiant and slouched when approached, and the hair is completely different as well. In the posted video, the cop who assaults the woman is shorter than her, in the video you are referring to, the man and the cop are the same height, with the man being slightly shorter than the cop. The cop in the above video punched a woman in the face, look carefully at the cop's body language in both videos as well at :11-:12 and :04.

video above is not the video I watched this morning. something strange about this.

    • It appears though the woman was resisting the officer before he hit her, and that brings us to the question, what was she resisting?

However, given the appearances in this video, the police officer went way beyond reasonable measures, and if the police keep up such violent measures then they're going to come to a divide. Either the protesters will successfully file legal charges against the police, preferably just against the assholes without getting the honest officers caught in the crossfire, or the protesters will begin to respond to the police in kind. And although it is likely that such riots would be put down successfully, it is possible that they protesters will gain a large enough number, if they have not already, that they will not be controllable should hell break loose.
