Could this article in the Oct. 16, 1911 issue of the San Francisco Call be any more demeaning?

It talks about the discovery of Ishi, the last California Native American who hadn’t seen European or American settlers and was found in 1911 near Oroville. Ishi was kept by U.C. Berkeley anthropologists for study in San Francisco and was offered up as a morsel at weekly visits with curious people.
