Rich in France say: Raise our taxes

This is an old story from August. Don't know how I missed it. You should read the entire article, but the part I found most interesting was this excerpt:

"The tax increase came after some of France's wealthiest people had called on the government to tackle its deficit by raising taxes on the rich"

By the way, anyone notice they're not rioting in the streets of France?

    • Could it be that the French remember the last time in their country that the wealthy got out of control and the concentration of wealth was as high as it is now in the US. I believe it was called the French revolution, and the guillotine was the corrector of choice.
Maybe the guillotine should be Occupy’s symbol? It seemed to work very well the last time.

I agree and even more deeply, I think Europeans remember their collective history. The czar, Louis XVI, Hitler. They understand what can happen when you have a disillusioned populace. If the 1% want to find out if that's still the case, maybe they should start yelling "Let them eat cake"
