Drones: Killing For Sport?

Without getting too deeply into the actual numbers of casualties, the notion of which most Americans are used to that collateral damage in the form of civilian deaths from drone strikes is non-existent or minimal, has been clearly disputed in an August 2011 report, by an independently backed British, not-for-profit, investigative journalism initiative, based at City University In London. ‘The Bureau of Investigative Journalism’ as it calls itself, is currently at odds with U.S. Intelligence officials, who for obvious reasons, often make it appear to the American public as if each and every drone strike they conduct is a logistical and surgical success. Yet, according to the aforementioned report that I have cited, there are credible reports of more than 150 children having their lives snuffed out to date, via American military drones.

I can't believe the movie Toys has become an accurate portrayal of our military fighting force.

I think that drone warfare has a place in the modern world. We are no longer lining massive armies direclty across from each other and suffering immeasurable losses for each side.

Well, on the battlefield fired from soldiers in the heat of conflict, at least this new drone being made ready for use will be more precise, with less fire power. I am not sure if it can be controlled remotely from thousands of miles away, but it’s a step in the right direction, nonetheless. ‘Predator’ drones, and the like, need to fade away asap, kind of like the Ford Model T. I do not speak of the drone in the photo, I refer to the link below.

I agree, until we can get to a point in Social Media that allows each person to make their wishes known, we will have despots who do not care about the good or 'will' of the people they were put in place to serve and protect. If we can take out an Osama and reverse the "who is in terror now?" paradigm, we have a chance to have 'the people' of the country be heard and participate in the decisions about their future w/o US having to maintain the largest armed force in the history of the world and having a constant stream of dead and wounded return to a home w/o a job for them!

Here's a video about drones. See just what they do. I am sick of war as well. "War-what is it good for?--absolutely nothing!"

Well I guess we have to start thinking about how to avoid being skeet with feet in the future. I hate drones flying with folks saying we are free and have nothing to fear from our government. Say didn't Hitler say to the people of Germany that all is well we are here to help you?? Then kill millions of his own people? .

I'm afraid your right about that. An I don't have anything that will bring one down. They fly out of range of anything I have.
