That's the problem with a movement that has no agenda. IT HAS NO AGENDA. I'm pretty sure the fat cats on Wall Street can wait for the snow to fly and the temperature to drop to the teens and when people start getting frost bite they will go home. I don't blame them, I would also.
What I am counting on though is, like Valley Forge for Washington, many of his soldiers left for the winter, they had to if they wanted to live, but to his amazement, they came back in the spring, stronger and more willing to fight than ever before.
This movement will come back, bigger and stronger than ever. That is when people will sit up and take notice and that is when they will need SOME SORT OF AGENDA TO PRESENT TO THE PEOPLE AND TO THE ELECTED OFFICIALS, RIGHT BEFORE THE ELECTION.
At that time I hope some people will take ownership of the movement and have SOME items they want to see changed THAT TENS OF THOUSANDS OF THEM CAN AGREE ON AND THAT COULD BE CHANGED WITH A VOTE BY CONGRESS and they will present this list to people who will either listen or get steam rollered by the wave of humanity coming at them.

I just don't get OWS not coming out and demanding Congress pass the jobs bill. The repugnants won't because it will help the Prez, never mind the country, but OWS was supposed to be about jobs too. If the right won't help and OWS won't use their combined efforts to get this done, do we just wait for 10 more months? A one day nation wide strike (in place) to demonstrate the support of the nation (world) for people to receive fair treatment from their government and the corporations that function under our laws.

I will honestly tell you something we should stop doing: We should stop sparring with FOX and making this partisan because that is what they want. If they wish to do it let them hang themselves. Matter of fact, we should invite them to join us and really see them make fools of themselves in showing how anti-democratic they really are. By only engaging their distractionary BS we hold up progress otherwise and anything that might have been done does not look serious and gets lost in the process. I made a video about a week ago saying we should Occupy Liberty and include all politics because this shouldn't be partisan, only when I made that I guess I had amnesia and forgot that this isn't 1776 and many people don't think that way anymore. I guess I get caught up in the romanticism of what this country used to be and could be again but keeps missing it because it seems more important to get the one up gotcha than actually doing what really needs to be done. And it isn't to see someone get on TV every day just to get their 15 minutes. That may sound harsh, but from where I'm at I'm getting a bit disappointed and frustrated.
I planned to go to the Occupy NJ event last week in one town near me and it wasn't there anymore. So I do think the outside occupations need to move on at some point if all they will do is cause more people to leave them because of lack of attendance or resources or because they just see this going nowhere. And with winter coming I really think we need to have a strategy that makes it clear that working for a debt free future for our children is our primary goal both environmentally and econonically and get it to where it needs to go. I would then suggest to move on a resolution agreed upon by all regions of the country to an amendment to the constitution to be taken to the Congress to occupy IT, only then I see all of these people out here like Cenk Uyger all trying to be "the One" and vying against each other and I become disillusioned again because it seems as with any movement we have people who want attention and for you to follow "their" idea and not the willingness to support one resolution. This society that is now built on tech and tv and popular media does work well to get out the important news, but it also brings out the egos and that to me is a deterrant.
So eventually I think we will need to have a democratic process in crafting a resolution to an amendment that covers the hopes and concerns of all regions of the country (and yes that includes states of all colors, blue, red, and in between) and that can only be achieved through a Constitutional Congress. Sometimes the old tried and true ways are the best. Perhaps OWS should call for a Constitutional Congress made up of delegates from OWS movements all over the country where reps are picked to represent their areas. Then they all get together and work on an amendment to get the money out and ways this should be accomplished. It should then be voted on with the occupy movement then moving to Congress to petition them for our grievances demanding they listen to us and incorporate this amendment.
Now of course, the other end to this is that should they not do this, their jobs would be in peril and we have to say it and mean it regardless of party. Of course then, to bring that out further we should show up on election day with our own blank pieces of paper and pens to vote and tell the people at the polls that we refuse to use their DIEBOLD machines and that we are using paper ballots and waiting to see them counted. Personally, we cannot take this process back without going to the source, the votes. I like so many others suggested hitting the banks where it hurts, boycotting corporations ,etc .I think that needs to continue and in greater amounts. But we also have to move beyond just standing outiside the banks waiting for them to do something, because it is obvious they won't. It is the people who make the laws we need to face and let them know in no uncertain terms that they continue the status quo at their peril. Ok, I'll shut up now, especially since my "honesty" of late seems to rub some the wrong way.

The realization that there are many of us that care about what happens to many others is an important step...by stopping and actually listening we understand again that certain rights are unalienable. It is not about banking or government, though those issues brought many people together in something grander, something hoped for yet unexpected, we have found there is more to life than our next purchase and looking out for number one is not the pursuit of happiness that is going to help us to a better future for humanity. These attitudes are what have brought us to this brink. It is said the greatest gift is giving and it is time to change our approach to all we do to reflect such. Service to self should be a thing of the past so we can usher in a new dawn of entitlement for all rather than the few. Those that can't see this truth need step out of their positions so we can adjust our way of living without their walls in the way.

If I knew the answer, I'd be smart, which I'm not. I say ows demands an end to the federal reserve, and a return to the gold standard. Then reinstate corporate resposibility to the advancement of America, all the while still making themselves rich. (After all, thats the great thing about our country, you can get rich!)

This feels like a longer quieter smaller g20 protest, there is no electricity in occupy wallstreet it feels like everyone is just waiting around for it to die.
This "its exciting because no one knows whats gonna happen next" shit is nonsense its exactly why there is so much apathy amongst the masses, show the world that OWS is more than a tourist attraction, electrify the public i say.
The fact that this leaderless mob is asking whats next is just down right depressing, to think a grassroots movement made up of a large segment of well educated students can be compared to the tea party at this point considering how long and hard those rednecks rallied and scraped and clawed and birthered there way into relevance just to be barely equal to OWS and the fact that we all know that the occupiers started off on way better footing just goes to show that OWS is becoming a classic oxymoron a movement that does not MOVE.
We know the newsworthy stories have been few and far between, so the occupiers are getting some mainstream media shine, but the clock is ticking on the movement sooner or later celebrities are gonna stop coming out the woodwork.
A council of occupiers should be put together to figure out how to go about utilizing their power and their momentum, now or it will be dead in the water.

The occupy wallstreet people's goal is to change the government and financial system, they need votes on shareholder boards they need lawyers to fight in court they need news coverage and they need to electrify the american public, there are a lotta people working 2 and 3 jobs who are too busy putting food on the table to go and protest however they support OWS, but cant really show support, with celebrity and political power, they can get things done.
So utilizing the power it has is the only realistic way to get things changed the way they actually want it done and since the ball is in occupy wallstreets court right now, it can run on its own steam and not have to worry about getting hijacked from its original intended purpose like the tea party did when it lost momentum.

Do you think that OWS activists will eventually also come to realize that the demise of the system they're decrying (i.e. free market capitalism) is the 'result' of, but not the "cause' of the chicanery by "Banksters et al," but by those we call our "representative" govt (i.e. the 'state')?
There is another 1 percent out there, those who do live parasitically off the population and exploit the 99 percent... a tiny minority that lives off the productive labor of the overwhelming majority.
I'm speaking of the state, which is made up of a tiny sliver of the population but is the direct cause of all the impoverishing wars, inflation, taxes, regimentation, and social conflict. This 1 percent is the direct cause of the violence, the censorship, the unemployment, and vast amounts of poverty, too.
The 1 percent do not generate any wealth of their own. Everything they have they get by taking from others under the cover of law. They live at our expense... Without us, the state as an institution would die.The state is the only institution in society that is permitted by law to use aggressive force against person and property.
It is the same with every tax, every regulation, every mandate, and every single word of the federal code. It all represents coercion. Even in the area of money and banking, it is the state that created and sustains the Fed and the dollar, because it forcibly limits competition in money and banking, preventing people from making gold or silver money, or innovating in other ways... And in some ways, this is the most heinous intervention of all, because it allows the state to destroy our money on a whim. The state is everybody's enemy. Damned few of the protesters get this...
They are right that society is rife with conflicts, and that the contest is wildly lopsided. It is indeed the 99 percent versus the 1 percent. They're just wrong about the identity of the "enemy." - 7 months ago

If we are to take a non violent approach: We need to turn this grass roots enthusiasm into actionable items. We need doable (realistic) goals to achieve. Obtain government (congress and senate) sponsors or a rally to elect people who support us.
Fo example, we should have the end game in mind, but you don't try to get that the first go around unless you plannng revolution. If you want to redefine the banking industry, start by backing polititians that support a bill for real reform that buys us enough time to work towards the next baby step.
Thats what a rational person would do, however I doubt it will work in practice because the banks have so much power they will go to war before they allow the change we want. I think we may have to go through an economic armageddon to realize real change without a bloody revolution.
