    • It is hard playing fair when the other guy's don't want too, but when you realize what they want to accomplish , RIOTS, riots for justification to sweep this protest off the streets and out of the news using a iron fist.
I watched the Greek riots on line and thought,,,,if only they had weapons to fight back with instead of rocks ....but where would that actually lead ?
My heart says....fight back with violence , logic says don't! We will win nothing with violence.

    • Yeah, people are acting like he's offering the reward dead or alive. He just wants the name so people can shame this guy individually.

All that pretty body armor obviously isn't necissary to take on an unarmed peaceful crowd. The only reason for it is anonnimity, and I don't think public servants should have that.

    • Furthermore, how would anyone be able to verify whatever name you receive?

This is playing straight into the hands of the propaganda machine (aka MSM). I really doubt the marine who was injured would condone any of this. Good cops basically just want to keep their jobs. Bad cops, can't be reasoned with, much less held accountable for orders that probably came down from the mayor's office.

I suggest the fact he was so brutally injured and is laying in a coma... has already sparked thousands more to join the cause. That's what's important. That's what he was standing up for. Let's rise above the hate and stay focused.

    • While I support the intent here, I suggest you consider using different terminology here. Bounty has too much baggage associated with it.

    • What the hell is the matter with you people who don't want this cop's name known. You want to perpetuate this sort of violence and irresponsibility by a few bad cops? Whoever did this should pay a serious price...perhaps loss of his/her badge for starters...this sort of bullshit has to stop...and it doesn't matter if it is a marine or not!!! If this person gets away with this...then shame on all of us who sit on our fat asses in front of monitors acting as if we had a freakin' clue.

    • This isn't a bounty for the cop's death. It is just for his name so he can be exposed. Knowing Tony Balogna's name didn't hurt our movement, it helped it. Some of the commenters here are overreacting to the sensationalized headline.

    • Not a good idea the police have been going to far I know the guy got shot but people have been tasered, pepper sprayed, and beat down. By doing something about this you will hurt the movement.

    • terrible idea.. we are NOT the enemy of the police. they are the 99% just because there are a few psychopaths wearing blue, does not justify this type of behavior, nor do any occupation movements i am affiliated with support it.

      I agree!
The police are part of the 99%.
We need to continue peaceful protests even in the face of tyranny. I have hope the police will soon move across the line join hands with our brothers and sisters and demand all our freedoms.

      Peace

no it will not, Part of the cry is that those who committed crimes against humanity for torture and lies (Cheney, rumsfeld etal) have not been brought to justice, nor have the banksters who have robbed us blind (and don't think people haven't died because of their "victimless" white collar crime) haven't been brought to justice. Many officers across the country are not proud of their fellow officers across the country who treat citizens who are not committing crimes as combatants. They don't like the corporatization and militarization of police/peace officers. Many saw positions cut and police budgets trashed for the rules and edicts that came down from homeland security. homeland security is just another clearing house for corporate military contractors for profit. If a peace officer acts viciously it reflects on the entire force, if a soldier commits a war crime it reflects on the entire unit. If you take on the role of the enforcer of democracy and justice you have a high ethic to uphold. We control our police and military and we have lost control over both. Mayor Quan is learning that the hard way.
