OK so I am in a rage. Just heard statute of limitations for child abuse is 5 years ( that alone needs to change ) and of course this happened 7 years ago.
BUT just read that they are calling for retroactive recusal of a supreme court judge and not for a family court judge that beats his daughter to a point that has the entire country up in arms?? I would say this judge did not reveal he was a child abuser which results in the retrial of all decisions he has made in cases of child protection.
( this is the story that gave me hope)
#Rep. Louise Slaughter exploring ‘retroactive recusal’ of Justice Thomas in old cases with conflicts of interest.. This is a financial matter including lies and omission)#
I just know that a child activist will pick this up and run with it. Nobody including a child (family) court judge should have the opinion that this is over!

I think this applies here. "Sorry" doesn't cut it:
“A teacher in New York was teaching her class about bullying and gave them the following exercise to perform. She had the children take a piece of paper and told them to crumple it up, stomp on it and really mess it up but do not rip it.
Then she had them unfold the paper, smooth it out and look at how scarred and dirty it was. She then told them to tell it they were sorry. Now…… even though they said they were sorry and tried to fix the paper, she pointed out all the scars they had left behind…and that those scars will never go away no matter how hard they tried to fix it.
She then told them that that is what happens when a child bullies another child, they may say they’re sorry but the scars are there forever. The looks on the faces of the children in the classroom told her the message hit home."

Police say no charges will be filed because statute of limitations has run out.
"McALLEN, Texas – A Texas family law judge whose daughter secretly videotaped him savagely beating her seven years ago won’t face criminal charges because too much time has elapsed, police said Thursday.
Aransas County Court-at-Law Judge William Adams likely would have been charged with causing injury to a child or other assault-related offenses for the 2004 beating of his then-16-year-old daughter, but the five-year statutes of limitations expired, Rockport Police Chief Tim Jayroe said.
“We believe that there was a criminal offense involved and that there was substantial evidence to indicate that and under normal circumstances ... a charge could have been made,” Jayroe said. He said the district attorney determined he couldn’t bring charges, and that police would discuss the case with federal prosecutors even though he doesn’t believe federal charges would apply."

This guy is sick, and he is beyond help if truly thinks he "did nothing wrong."
If he doesn't know the difference between a brutal beating and a "spanking" then he is not fit to be a father, much less a judge in a family court. His comments, and the way he shrugged off the fact that his daughter had this video shows us that he thinks he is beyond reproach. I am glad she made this public.
It will hopefully make others who abuse their children think twice. Even if they never are filmed, there is always the possibility of it being made public and/or the victims seeking justice. Although, these acts can never be erased, the victims hold great power when they speak out.Kudos to his beautiful daughter for having the courage to stand up to her bully father.
May she live a long, healthy, and prosperous life. And may he be punished for his thoughtless words and hurtful actions. I hope he spends the rest of his life regretting the way he treated his daughter. - 1 year ago

Great comment, txmom.
I would like to add her "bully mother" as well. Instead of protecting her daughter from the abuse, she *allowed* this to happen, and she was also abusive. She "enabled" her sick husband to do the horrible things he did to their daughter.
They're both abusive parents. Unacceptable.

Rockport Tx Judge William Adams beats his 16 yr. old daughter...
Hi Bailey78, I didn't know you had already posted this video, I just posted it approximately an hour ago. I will remove it. this is the most disturbing video I have seen, a mother and father abusing their child like this, they both should be in jail right now. It was heartbreaking for me to watch this, the father kept beating her again and again, and then the mother had the nerve to tell her... to take it like a real woman, DAMN! And after all of that she wasn't good enough to sleep in her own bed, the so-called mother instructed her to sleep on the couch. Now we've all heard the stories about children killing their parents, could this be the reason why?

The judge/dad in question - I guess he has no soul, to beat his daughter and the next day sit in family courts judging. SHAME, SHAME, SHAME. Since he knows the nooks and crannies of Texas law, he will manage to get out. That poor girl! That judge and people like him are evil.
This serves as a reminder of the general type of personality of those who seek jobs punishing people. Here in America we are treated severely by the law. In the country that purports itself to be the most free country the reality is that police brutality is used to silence us, and we put more people in cages than any other country on the planet. In not demanding better systems of enforcing law (and only law that is just), I think we have a form of Stockholm syndrome. I also think part of it is that this is the world we were born into and we are just used to it. The reality is that we are not free. We are an oppressed, abused, controlled people. We are slaves.
