Buh BYE Herman!!! "National Restaurant Association: '.. we are willing to waive the confidentiality of this matter and permit Mr. Bennett’s client to comment."

“We have seen the statement Joel Bennett released earlier today on behalf of his client, a former employee of the Association. The Association consented to the release of that statement, at the request of Mr. Bennett’s client.
“Based upon the information currently available, we can confirm that more than a decade ago, in July 1999, Mr. Bennett’s client filed a formal internal complaint, in accordance with the Association’s existing policies prohibiting discrimination and harassment. Mr. Herman Cain disputed the allegations in the complaint.
The Association and Mr. Bennett’s client subsequently entered into an agreement to resolve the matter, without any admission of liability. Mr. Cain was not a party to that agreement. The agreement contains mutual confidentiality obligations.
Notwithstanding the Association’s ongoing policy of maintaining the privacy of all personnel matters, we have advised Mr. Bennett that we are willing to waive the confidentiality of this matter and permit Mr. Bennett’s client to comment. As indicated in Mr. Bennett’s statement, his client prefers not to be further involved with this matter and we will respect her decision.
“The Association has robust policies designed to ensure that employees with concerns may bring them forward for prompt investigation and resolution, without risk of retaliation. The Association is fully committed to equal employment opportunity and to an environment that is free from any discrimination or harassment.”

Herman Cain is a womanizer. We all knew that when we gladly elected Bill Clinton twice.
I still think this is a non-issue. Although he might get caught in an incident or two in the oral office.
People who like Cain before this drama will still like him.

Hmmm. Even without these allegations, he is quite ignorant and insane. Yet he is still ahead in the polls. I am wondering if this will make a difference. Republicans are quite crazy.

Vive la Restaurant Association for their fine policy
expressed in the last paragraph. Personally, I would
never have survived a sexual harassment law suit in
my lifetime (pre-guillotine days) without my country
going even more bankrupt.Contrary to popular opinion, it was not my spend-thrift
wife who caused our country's debt. It was the Americans.
We had to pay for their Revolution. That is why--still to this
day--when we hear the word "American", we have a little
smirk. Freedom fries, indeed! You wouldn't even have
potatoes without the French! - 1 year ago

Something is very wrong here...think about it...this is the best the GOP can do for a presidential election ? One would start to think they are intended to lose with this line up. I don't mind being called a conspiracy nut and I firmly believe the two parties are corrupt and tied together more than we suspect....are they throwing this race on purpose ? Are we being played for some unknown reason ?
None of these people come close to fitting a presidential position...it just seems like they are trying too hard to lose!
Anyone else wonder about this ? - 1 year ago

This is great news! But the question remains--Will Cain's stock actually rise in the GOP based upon this? I ask because his poll ratings certainly haven't fallen. They have got the perfect enemy in their minds, the "liberal media," even though it was Politico that broke the story. There's plenty in the GOP that are happy simply that the harassment was directed toward women instead of men, for a change. Their scandals usually swing in the other direction.

More new information.
It wasn't *an* incident. It was a number of incidents:
Cain accuser cited ’several’ harassment incidents
WASHINGTON (AP) – One of Herman Cain’s accusers alleged “several incidents of sexual harassment” in a formal complaint more than a decade ago, her lawyer disclosed Friday a fresh allegation that could complicate the Republican presidential hopeful’s determined bid to lay the politically explosive controversy to rest. The lawyer, Joel Bennett, said his client – married then and now – accepted a financial settlement in leaving her job at the National Restaurant Association shortly after lodging the complaint against Cain, who was then the trade group’s head. Bennett did not name the woman, who he said had decided not “to relive the specifics” of the incidents in a public forum.
“She made a complaint in good faith about a series of inappropriate behaviors and unwanted advances from the CEO” of the restaurant organization, Bennett said.

WASHINGTON, Nov 4 (Reuters) - A consumer group asked U.S. regulators on Friday to probe allegations that Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain got illegal campaign cash from an influential conservative group backed by the wealthy brothers who run Koch Industries. The Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics consumer group in Washington said it filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission seeking a probe of a report alleging that tens of thousands of dollars in illegal contributions were made to Cain's campaign earlier this year by outside political groups.

I love this thanks NRA. But what does bother me is, and I haven't heard anyone say something about the most glaring mistake in the whole Cain debacle......Cain Is running to head the Republican Party as President of the United States, you know the no JOBS Republicans. Restaurants need customers and if nobody has a job how can they eat at a restaurant, therefor why in the hell would you have a CEO that represents restaurants and at the same time doesn't believe in creating jobs or higher wages. Doesn't that seem odd?
