Police State - Concealed Cameras in the Wisconsin Capitol

On November 1, Wisconsin's new Concealed Carry law went into effect. Citizens with a permit are now allowed to bring a loaded weapon into the Assembly gallery. But according to the gallery 'rules,' they're not allowed to hold a sign or use a camera. In order to highlight the absurdity of this, some citizens brought in 'concealed cameras' and silently filmed the Assembly session, while others quietly held signs in their laps. In all, 18 citizens were arrested that night.

it would be interesting to find out what the undisclosed charges are and if they actually held up in court. I read in an article a while back about a guy who was applying for work as a police officer but was turned down because he was over qualified (knew the laws too well). This in my view is the reason police may be given orders that violate the constitution and they follow them.
Props to all who stand up for their rights.

this guys pretty smart...MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin Democrats are riled because a donor to Republican Gov. Scott Walker's gubernatorial campaign pulled a surprise move and filed the paperwork to recall him instead of waiting for opponents to do so.
The move beat Democrats to the punch in their own plan to file such paperwork to recall the the controversial freshman governor.
The Democratic Party alleges that the donor filed the paperwork so that Walker could begin raising unlimited political donations. The money can be used only for certain things, such as a recall election.
"The only reason this was filed was to open the dirty rain shower of unlimited corporate cash," Graeme Zielinski, a spokesman with the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, told The Capital Times in Madison.
Democrats have been vowing to recall the governor since he introduced legislation eliminating most of public workers' union rights in February. Public employee unions traditionally have been big supporters of Democratic candidates.

Kelly, you had me right up to your last sentence.
The ends justify the means is a Fascist concept, and unworthy. These SOB's will be brought down by their own actions,by there own greed, and by their own huberis....That, and a good hard shove from the people that they want to subdue.

I know, your right. But eventually people are going to get tired off it. I mean look at what happened to the Jews in Germany. They tried to be non-violent right up to when the gas was dropped on them. I hope you're right and we can effect change peacefully. But the way the cops are escalating the violence, we may not have a choice but to defend ourselves.

I hope as you do that we can effect a peaceful, bloodless revolution in spite of the shortage of historical precedent. But all options should be on the table.

This is what WI has become ever since Walker/Kochs took it over. When I heard on my local news that it was OK to bring guns into the Capitol but not cameras or signs, I was like you've got to be kidding! Signs and cameras are more dangerous than guns?! OK, the right wing nuts in my state got what they wanted....conceal and carry. Be careful what you wish for....do they think that ONLY right wingers carry guns? What if a disgruntled 99%er walks into the Capitol with a gun? Here's Colbert's take on this--says it all.
