Mexican Terrorists Behead Anonymous Blogger For Informing On Social Networks

America has to attack Iran over imaginary nuclear weapons program, but terrorists are just across the border murdering amd beheading activists, shipping drugs and terrorizing in border towns?

Another blogger has been beheaded by a drug cartel as a warning for those who use social media to report illegal activities and tip off police.

The moderator of a social network was left under a blood-stained blanket with a note pinned to it which read: 'This happened to me for not understanding that I shouldn't report on the social networks.'

One contributor, translated by Wired, wrote: 'No need to worry, no way of knowing our data since WE’RE ALL ANONYMOUS, and the only way to know them, is that we disclose ourselves so PLEASE, follow the rules … and do not give your personal INFORMATION... please!!!!'

Another wrote: 'Let's continue denouncing them, now that we've seen it burns them, hurts them .... We have to continue. We can't give in.'

    • Well I would take issue with the "imaginary" nuclear weapons program in Iran but not now.
While this border problem with the druggies and terrorists goes on we still aren't paying much, if any, attention to the FAst & Furious scandal that this teflon president seems to be not so interested in. Our own government is aiding this and is responsible for the murders of a border patrol officer as well as civilians on both sides. Obummer ignores this. When this story began to break there were many calls from the usual suspects to further attempt to curtail our civil rights in response. I would suggest that this was one of the aims of the F&F program.
Our government seems to have a problem with sovereign countries borders, both here and in the mid east, again another issue. We have a war going on in the southern part of this country and we are not seeing a lot of interest in D.C.

    • midst of this discussion, Rick Bayless (famous Mexican chef) just had a new PBS show on the great Tijuana, its innovative food, culture, and how it's the new "hot spot" for travelers. Some of his quotes: "Something unique is happening this moment in Tijuana," "attracting people from all over for its museums, food, and culture." "It's the place to be just like it was in the 20's when u.s. had prohibition and the stars would travel to Baja for a classy Las Vegas like atmosphere."
He featured the historic Caesar Restaurant and he walked the Tijuana streets eating tacos. He repeatedly said that "Tijuana is the trendy spot to go."
Here is a link if you don't believe me: http://www.fronterafiesta.com/discuss/436-behind-the-scenes-baja-episode-8.html

and read all the comments at the bottom of the video where people are expressing great enjoyment of traveling through Tijuana.

    • One decade of Alcohol Prohibition: Al Capone, Gansters, Tommy gun wielding mafias.

After four decades of Drug Prohibition: Pablo Escobar, AK-47 wielding Mexican cartels beheading hundreds of people, etc...

"Those who do not remember the past are doomed to repeat it." PROHIBITION DOESN'T WORK PEOPLE!

    • cruzankenny you are taking this personal. Maybe it was the "coward hide behind keyboard" but it was not meant personal toward you. No one is condoning drug cartel violence, but there are other ways to handle it and it is obvious that posting names on blogs or in articles is not a way to handle it.
And it is a fact that a large amount of Americans live and feel safe in Mexico because they are not buying drugs in abandoned buildings in the middle of the night and American tourism in Mexico is thriving. It is also a fact that most countries have the mafia and drug cartel and violence. There are money/drug killings that go on all the time in Las Vegas, Chicago, Miami, Cleveland. Come on, you are acting "reactionary" just like I mentioned before.

    • answer is simple: End the drug war. "The government has as much business telling you what to put into your body, as it does telling you what to put into your mind" - Ron Paul! This is what liberty looks like! Ron Paul 2012!

    • I think this post should be withdrawn. Seriously! You have people praising expat life in Mexico and saying,"beheadings aren't all that common", and that it's only fools who name gang member's names and they deserve what they get.
Am I the only one that sees the complete lack of logic and total inhumanity in this statement?

    • There is an old Mexican saying "pity poor Mexico, so close to the US and so far from god!" I would suggest that anyone interested in this situation take a look at the PBS "Prohibition" series for a realization that we have been here before. The growth of gangs off illegal drugs (alcohol) has had the same effect. We (US) need to grow a pair and recognize that drugs are not the problem, prohibition is! We need to do more for the drug addicted than throw them in jail while the new gangs kill and maim as they please! You can blame the victim as many are trying to do with raped little boys, but we all know in our hearts where the real failure of moral strength lies!

Like any business, the price is based on the effort. We are following all the errors outlined in the PBS "Prohibition" series, just as if we had learned NOTHING! We jail the little guys and the big guys bribe or kill honest law enforcement and they kill whoever dares speak out, yet we are happy to allow this as long as "jesus is happy that we are not high!" Instead of enjoying the taxes from the business, in a time of budget shortfalls we spend money to put people in jail to cost US yet more money to keep in jail and to keep out of work the rest of their lives! "Stupid is as stupid does!" (thank you Forrest! ;-)

It is a shame the some people do not recognize that taking care of children is more important than a game, any game. The children are victims who too often are not allowed to speak by the adults who "know better", but are really only driven by greed of money or fame!

It's off topic, but I know what you're referring to and agree 100%. I believe there should be some jail sentences and the 'Graduate Assistant" coach should have intervened when he witnessed what he did and for sure not stopped at informing the Coach. He should do some time.

If you don't know who you are before you are placed in such a horrible position, you will know when you have decided what to do and leave. This is a choice you make that sticks with you for life. It's great to be all hyped about "values", but they are hollow words if you don't put them into practice at the moment of decision.

Very true. That's what you get when you worship an entity as a hero, but you never really saw them perform an heroic act or knew how they would perform when their back was against the wall.

    • another thing, Americans sit all day on facebook, twitter/tweeter, google, playing dumb games, talking in weird chat rooms, everyone now has a blog where they write useless things, Americans are isolated and are not close to family and don't have close friends. So when many Americans hear "Mexico," they like to sensationalize things that happen in all places, Miami Beach has drug killings all the time, because Americans are bored and restricted in their own lives. When I travel to different cultures, the first thing that will be said to me is "most Americans don't get out of their country and are ignorant of the world." I always agree with different people of different cultures poor perception of Americans.

    • I'm an American that's lived in Chula Vista for 30 years. I am a little old lady. My sister comes to visit me every year in December and it is a tradition that we spend 2 days/1 night in Mexico Christmas shopping. We drink, we eat, we shop for pottery and blankets and silver. We get a cheap room for the night and have never had a problem. We enjoy our selves in a different culture and these are always our best memories. Most Americans don't like to travel, they would rather sit around and hide behind their computer and when they hear Mexico they talk ignorant because of their lack of culture and worldliness. Drug violence takes place in any country. I travel to Spain, Portugal, Italy and these counties have the same drug gangs there. Even Venice Beach has drug gangs and if you want to walk around selling or buying drugs in dark buildings in the middle of the night with shady characters, you are just asking for problems no matter where you go in this world.
In my travels, I have never met a more ignorant and closed off person than an American. Sad.
Also because I lost most of the value of my home and most of my retirement has been flushed, I am even thinking about moving to Mexico in the next year or so. Friendlier people, cheaper food and drink, and better quality of life than U.S.A.
And for any blogger or journalist that hides behind a keyboard and acts like a coward by writing names of Mexican gang members, well if you get caught, of course something is going to happen to you.

'Hide behind a Keyboard and acts like a Coward' by naming Gang Members and of course somethings going to happen to you!!!
What kind of Caca is this?
On CURRENT an entry like this gets ^p'd. Kiss my ass.
I bet you're calling the women who claimed Herman Cain harassed him sluts, who; "Better think Twice", before sticking their head out of the foxhole.

    • The same sort of violence occurred during Prohibition; did we learn nothing from that? Take out the source of profit, not the drugs, and the much of the problem will evaporate. The source of the profit lies in the fact that the drugs are illegal. This problem could be fixed easily but for the opposition of crooked officials, arms traffic, and bribery. Legalize and the profits go away along with much of the killing.

    • i live mexico part time, u.s. part time. actually, mexico is safer the past few years for tourism because we need u.s. dollars so much. u.s. people are treated very nice here in mexico and they are coming more and more all the time. americans are even buying up all the homes in border towns. sometimes are bars and restaurants have more americans than mexicans.
the beheading is not that common and if it does happen, it is those people who write names. those people who are pointing out the drug cartel by name and by town. that is very dangerous and those mexican bloggers know that they are putting there life at risk when they list drug cartell names. i'm not blaming them, but they know the risk involved when you finger point cartel members. you play with fire and you get burned.

    • when are some of the activist people going to learn who to PLAY with. The cops in some cities do not play, so don't think they will not shoot you or beat you. Next is Anonymous, playing GAMES with the cartels. ARE YOU CRAZY!!! They should have known that when you play with fire..... These people do not play so getting on Youtube to showboat is like pissing off a PSYCHOPATHIC KILLER WITH UNLIMITED RESOURCES, and respectfully. I like anonymous going after the people in the light but don't play in the shadows unless you know who you are playing with. Anonymous these deaths are on your head. this is not some high school prank you idiots. Stick to where non violent protest should be, in the light!

    • When I lived in San Diego the drug people were beheading people across the border in Tijuana. And it was scary when I went through El Paso a few months ago because of the reputation of Ciudad Juarez. I am not into drugs, but a part of me wonders if we should legalize drugs, if only to shut the operations of these sickos down.

I'm not going to register for GetSatisfaction unless I know what it is. I tried to post Feedback, but couldn't find a way without having to register for something new and spread more personal information around.
I am somewhat a rookie at flagging comments and these were not outright threats. It was more a factor of having an article claiming anyone who anonymously used their keyboard to name gang members was a coward and deserved what they got. Another stated that beheadings weren't all that common unless you were foolish enough to name towns and gangs. All these posts were voted up multiple times and with our profiles hanging out there, I didn't and don't feel Current is taking proper care. Aside from the fact I feel the positive votes for posts of that nature go against what I feel Current stands for.

    • The best way to combat these murderous thugs is not through social media, not through enhanced border patrols, not by supporting a war on drugs. The best way, and the only way to combat this sort of occurrence is found in the voting booth. Elect candidates who will repeal prohibition and all the violence associated with the drug trade will melt away, just as all the violence associated with alcohol prohibition vanished with the passing of the 21st Amendment.

The war on drugs is actually a war on reason and common sense

Well the media controls who we see (for most Americans), they don't even want to cover a free-thinking common sense type candidate...

I mean they focus on Herman Cain who clearly lied a few times about the sexual harassment allegations... Really we want a president who is so willing to lie to us running the country? But that's who is popular that's who sells...

And Rick Perry, the guy has made a total ass of himself, but that is who the media is wasting it's/our time on.....

In fact the only one with rational drug policies is Ron Paul, and because the media is the propaganda machine for multinational corporations, and the moneyed class... They just bury Ron Paul and let gossip, and trifling bullshit drown him out....

It's all about the money, we'd literally have unsustainable courthouses if we legalized drugs, people who put 12 years and hundreds of thousands of dollars into educations could no longer justify their salaries... And what of the prison industrial complex?

All the pharmaceutical companies suddenly having competition... The logging industry would either adapt or be seriously downsized.... So many things you can do with cannabis and hemp...

But really, you think our votes ever mattered? 8 years and two completely fraudulent elections in recent history.... And Obama did win last time, fair enough, but he's lied so much, or mislead...

I don't even want to know the number of people that never would have voted for him had they known how he was going to flip/flop on drugs... People actually thought he was going to take a sane approach, and otherwise don't care about politics....

I might consider voting again provided they remove all corporate donating... Put like a $1,000 maximum on each person to donate... End lobbying, just shut down K-Street...

Sorry, the system has failed, will continue to fail... and no amount of super-glue and duct tape will hold this shit together.... It will be nice to see another empire come to an end....

    • Serious issue, they can and may potentially kill you, don't even think following all the stupid "rules" will protect you...

I tend to think an AK-47 or AR-15 (with the ever illicit 90 round banana clip might), but that's no safe bet....

Living away from border towns doesn't make you any safer.... I'm not a part of "Anonymous" never have been or will be, know a few of them, and might continue to, but it's not hard to find out who they really are...

Look when the government has allowed these cartels to turn into BILLION DOLLAR cartels through prohibition..... You might want to think before your speak... Or obtain specialized weapons training, be another martyr, or just keep your mouth shut...

But until our government starts legalizing things thus ending black market demand, they are not to be fuct with... Sadly even then, it will get bloody for a time, because they don't like the idea of loosing that guaranteed easy money... They'll fight tooth and nail much like the banks to ensure their financial dominance....

In short; it's not a game kiddies.....
