Malaysian ‘tribunal’ finds Bush, Blair guilty of war crimes

A symbolic tribunal in Malaysia ruled unanimously Tuesday that former U.S. President George W. Bush and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair were both guilty of “crimes against peace” for the 2003 invasion of Iraq.
The Kuala Lumpur War Crimes Tribunal, part of an initiative by former Malaysian premier Mahathir Mohamad – a fierce critic of the Iraq war – found the former leaders guilty after a four-day hearing.
While the court is modeled after the post-World War II Nuremberg Tribunal, it carries no legal weight.
“War criminals have to be dealt with — convict Bush and Blair as charged,” a statement from Mahathir’s Perdana Global Peace Foundation said. “A guilty verdict will serve as a notice to the world that war criminals may run but can never ultimately hide from truth and justice.”

Bush was charged in BC when he attended a speaking engagement here, last month. The charge was quashed by our Criminal Justice Branch. As usual, we blinked again. What a shame.

On the matter of bird hunting. This may not be the forum, but I was brought up on a real working ranch in New Mexico. We had spring roundup on a 200,000 acre Spanish land grant. Spring roundup consisted of rounding up calves for branding and castration to provide steers.
Fall was different, because then we loaded the fattened steers and shipped them off to market.
But the reason this story is relevant is because we used to hunt dove and quail during the roundup, in the evening, to provide food in adjunct with the canned beans and other supplies.
At 12 years old, I knew more firearms safety than Cheney exhibited when he shot his hunting partner. I don't know how many times I had a bird in my sights, flying low and fast, and just when I was about to pull the trigger another hunter came into the sight picture; which on a 12 gauge was very large. I didn't pull the trigger, I never lost sight of the basic tenant which is safety first.
I feel that lack of priority, safety first, was never learned by some people and those are the very people who dragged us into 2 wars. Two wars where we should have looked at our sight picture and not taken the step into 2 billion dollars a week wars, not to mention the responsibility for those killed or wounded because you didn't look first. - 6 months ago
