Sorry I am too old to be converted. It is like when I was young and used to try convince people of the harmlessness of smoking cigarettes. "It relaxes me" was my favorite. Of course like many cig smokers and pot smokers as well I did not realize how much I STUNK, literally. My son and his friends used to say "your mom can sure smell pot" and I could when I stopped smoking cigarettes and both of them stink! In reading all the comments I notice a predominant word is the F bomb I know it is cool and this will draw many terrible answers but I honestly never heard that word out of anyone's mouth until the 60's. I had seen it written on a wall but never heard it. Of course it has nothing to do with the use of pot. lol

One aspiring medical profession told me that Cannabinoids will treat,
cure and prevent 90% of all known infectious & degenerative diseases.
As humans are evolved to be equiped with cannabinoid receptors, the
list of what it won't hep is much shorter than the list of what it will help.
I can't know iif it can be proven to be limited or limitless. But weighing
in on the overwhelming evidence it has wonderdrug class theraputic
qualities, I'm resolved to live in Amsterdam at least 6 months a year
as a Dutch national to prove it does have unlimited value. That job
is diamond hard, yes. But being civic minded, you can save your tears
for peeling onions. Heh.

The government seems to be saying because every compound in cannabis hasn't been officially researched (which is a bullshit argument in the face of all the evidence), you can't have it. They are so obviously leaning towards pushing thru federal law that only allows isolated or synthetic compounds to give the pharm industry exclusive rights to medical cannabis, they already sell Marinol 100% synthetic THC and are now pushing for an oral spray made from a natural form of extract, think that one is called Sativex and it's already going thru clinical trials in the US. Problem is from what I've heard the pharm equivalents are not nearly as good in treating symptoms as when it is consumed in it's whole natural form. Avior's post brought an even more interesting case to light of consuming canabis in it's truely raw form for medicinal use without the psycho active effects...

Thanks for another great post KB. This Dr. Voth must be part of a delaying action by the drug companys while they figure out how to patent marijuana.That way they can be the dealer. This plant is among the most studied plant ever. No more study. LEGALIZE IT NOW!

Dr. Voth can suck my ass! Anything to stop people from using non-big pharma treatment options. I always am amazed at these FDA approved drug commercials that talk about more side effects than benefits for said condition. This is the stuff the FDA has supposedly researched! BS! Free the weed!

That "skeptical" Dr. made me throw up a little.... Fuck him, fuck the FDA, and fuck the corrupt pharmaceutical lobbyists and their companies....

His attitude just makes me want's to take a few more bong-reps to the dome and go back to sleep for a while....

Oh irony...The first politician/public person I heard recommend the legalization of marijuana was William F. Buckley...if your are old enough to remember him you also remember he was a conservative Republican with a conservative magazine...he understood the hypocrisy involved with prohibition...the tacit underwriting of organized crime...the stupid arguments that it was a gateway drug...etc etc.

Have said it before and will say it again making cannabis legal and taxing it makes sense! In addition that money can be earmarked for social programs taking the burden off the taxpayer! Lastly it removes organized crime from the pot business which most would agree is a good thing!

BO pardoned a turkey the other day. If everyone grew the weed I would love to see what law enforcement would do, Arrest everyone? I could see it now. Mass arrest in U S as citizens are jailed for growing pot. An estimated 100,000,000 million people are awaiting processing in their local jail. Would be funny to see.

Ive never used it and dont plan on it but what is really so stupid about all this is its just a plant, a weed that anyone can grow in their backyard, yet all these laws etc are imposed on it, humans are so stupid.

I'm of the opinion that adults should be allowed to use marijuana. period. Matters not if you smoke it, eat it, wash your hair with it, or rub it in your bellybutton. Having to endure some kind of malady shouldn't enter into it.

But as long as we're saddled with this hypocrisy, then the very LEAST the powers that be could do is to get off the backs of those among us that are ill. Applying the prohibition to these folks forces them to participate in the illegal market and I have yet to meet one - young or old - that wants to do that. Our doctors can prescribe any drug they choose - except this one. Yet this one is more effective and less harmful, with fewer side effects, than all the other legal medications for a number of conditions - like trying to keep food down while you're going through chemo for example.

Can they possibly be so dumb as to think that cancer only strikes pot smokers trying to get a buzz? ridiculous. Scared of some abusing the privilege perhaps? Well, no shit. Anybody ever get a count of how many alcoholics we have floating around? Find me one thing without exceptions, and I'll take that back. What do they do with people that abuse the rules on their planet? And should they punish the majority for the actions of a few?

But judging from what happened in CA & their legalization attempt - looks like the Fed is going to continue to make criminals out of people that aren't - and the rest of us can just grit our teeth. America the beautiful - run by politicians with ugly minds.
