General Wesley Clark had planned to attack the Russian troops in Kosovo back in the early nineties - thank goodness the British officer, Captain James Blunt refused to obey Clark. See http://news.antiwar.com/2010/11/14/uk-captain-confirms-details-wesley-clark-orde...

Good info, but the hoaky background music annoys the hell out of me. To me any video with music like this is hard to take serious. Dramatic, yes, but does this info really need a soundtrack? Makes me feel like it's tabloid material...

I voted everyone in the thread up, even if you were from the State Dept (good one) and know so much more about how this all works than some of us. There's no excuse for the childish behavior here.
And oh yes, drone strikes that kill innocents are so much more moral than doing it the old fashioned way...tongue in cheek.

(D) Democrat doesn't mean anything at all. Just a shell that says you are not (R) Republican and vice versa.
The sheep are distracted and placated by silly loyalties to letters.
But the agenda goes on the same regardless because it's set out by (E) Elites.

Captain Crunch-another war criminal. I truly don't think Americans on the whole can take the truth of just what these_have done in our name. Thank you, Tony Benn, and he was right. BTW, was that Benazir Bhutto sittting next to him?

It is along the lines of the Project For A New American Century. And it isn't just chilling, it's insane. Bush and his sociopathic regime isn't even offiically in the White House yet they still are as this agenda continues. I suppose Obama was someone they could count on to continue this which is why he will more than likely "win" the election next year unchallenged by anyone in his own party as he sells his soul. I really am baffled as to why more Democrats are not even questioning that... why not one Democrat is attempting to run this time out. Absolute silence.

No one is going to war with anyone. This is all a bunch of worthless fear mongering. Why would China waste it's time going to war with one of it's biggest trading partners over Iran?. Also, why would Russia bothering wasting itself into another war when they continue to have many domestic troubles in the Chechen regions along with trying to maintain economic growth? All sides know that war reaps no profit, only pointless blood. This will all blow over with some additional economic sanctions and some words of discontent from both sides, end of story.

Also remember Kenny, Israel can take it upon themselves to go in and what would we do then should that happen? Some think this is so cut and dry. It isn't. Not when humans are involved. The Russians seem to be chomping at the bit lately to start something and with Obama now sending troops to Australia China isn't too happy either. I think as resources become scarcer due to climate change and overconsumption as well the chances of war will increase.

Absolutely correct Jan, Israel could be the catalyst in all this. Whatever the scenario is, it's all about the dwindling resources.

Fantastic, did you take world history as well in college? And did you know that when the world is in financial depression what follows? History repeats itself quite often, and the financial malaise the world is currently in most often results in a world war. Iran is one of the last country's in the dreaded axis of evil, and the drum beat for war against Iran has been beating quite steadily for a while now. The real power in the world is wielded by a few very hyper rich family's and they are the ones pulling most of the strings. Did your schooling cover International Relations to Financial aspects of any situation involving world powers?

Yeah, you know that financial depression you're talking about? Historically speaking, a global depression like the 1930's only happened ONCE in history, so to say that history repeats itself while citing an example that only happened once doesn't really work all that well.
I'm with Nick on this matter, I don't see a war happening. Yeah, MAYBE the wild card in this situation is Saudi Arabia or Israel, but I don't see either nation willing to push Iran to a war.
Also, of equal significance:
http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Middle_East/MK29Ak03.htmlWasn't one of the major reasons why this whole shit-show started was BECAUSE of these accusations? Hmm, I wonder how much longer the Saudis and West can keep up the pressure in the face of such blatant contradictions...

WW3 is not going to happen for christ sakes. Not with our current economic model in place in which profit and free trade is most important. Iraq and Afghanistan have only proven the unprofitability of war in both men and money. How much did we spend on that war? On right, billions upon billions just to pacify the regions. War is politically unpopular and since when has Obama exactly been gun-ho to go to war lately without UN approval? Obama is playing the wait and see what the UN does card instead of fuck the UN I'm going to invade everyone card like Bush. George Bush foreign policy remained based on outdated notions of Cold War tactics along with a inability to understand the power of non-state entity. Obama recognizes the borderless nature of non-state entities so hence the usage of drones rather than sending large armies to invade a place like Yemen. The only people who freak themselves out about this bullcrap about some war is obviously living a paranoid delusional life if you ask me since they don't understand the very basic idea of how international affairs works nowadays.

Well I would say it's better than just invading countries. Is it good to use drones and kill people from afar? No. But, would you rather see the US army go right into Yemen because they harbor Al-Queda? The answer would be no of course. There a shades of grey in all of this.

Progressives, please stop buying into the fear mongering of the rightwing.
I've listened to this video clip twice now and I am not hearing where Clark says "Iran must be invaded". Burnett (the same woman that condescendingly mocked OWS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1x4ly3Gr3kw ) asked Clark if the US military is not stretched too thin already to actually be able to participate in yet another conflict. Clark responds to this quarry with an explanation of how he thinks the US could pull it off.
The gist of Clarks commentary seems to me to be that Obama is doing everything possible to AVOID another armed conflictI find it sad that the rightwing is pushing their agenda into the progressive side and now we are starting to attack our own. Please, people, resist this nafarious bs from the right

JanforGore:
Jan, the Project For a New American Century is defunked as of 2006. During Obama's campaign for office he stated clearly that he would ramp up the war in Afghanistan in pursuit of Bin Laden and al qaeda and draw down the military in Iraq - done both. It is unfortunate that congress thwarted his effort to close Gitmo, but this broken campaign promise should be laid at the doorstep of congress, not Obama.
I am disappointed that Obama has done so much appeasing to the GOP, that it has taken him so long to realize that it doesn't matter how many points he cedes to the GOP they will not work with him. I don't see this as a reason to throw the proverbial baby out with the bath water. My hope is that he takes his recently found spine through the next five years to show the American people that the elected GOP is looking out for the 1% only. Show the US that we deserve better than this GOP, keep Democrats running the country if we want the country to be of,by and for the people - 6 months ago

The organization perhaps, but not the concept of perpetual war be it drone strikes or troops on the ground to assure American hegemony in the world and protect "our interests.". It's all war to me. You can dress it up any way you choose to in order to defend Obama just because he is a Democrat. I'm tired of playing the political games.

Information like this what a person knows in the back of their mind, but when it comes to the forefront, and have to actually acknowledge it, well....
Knowing that the US has intervened in South America, Columbia and Bolivia to name 2, and I would imagine we have "people" in Venezuela, and helped to overthrow the legitimate government in Afghanistan, along with interference in Lebanon at least twice, and according to one person I know, the CIA is in Iran, this does make me worried even more.

This is the plan. Clark outlines it clearly. Why wasn’t this front page news in 2007? When the plan is out in the open and those in control of the media fail to report it, then there is no opening for the people … until now.

Well.... The establishment troll already downed your comment (neutralized that one)...
Other than that, he's right, all these wars were long since planned. It's not a democrat, not a republican, it is a globalist agenda. It's the international banking institutions, it's those seeking a global governance, it's those pulling the strings...
And it really doesn't matter who you vote for, even if by fluke we vote in someone with integrity, they'll most likely assassinate whomever it is...
It's like the straw men in South America, a leader comes to power, the "economic hit-man" shows up, makes a irresistible offer. Most people under that threat play ball, those who don't are assassinated.
Look at the end of the Clinton years, the ONLY thing that stopped that impeachment charade, the only thing that made the media let a minor sexual indiscretion fade off into the past.... Was a (minor) attack on Iraq.... That's what did it, nothing major (in the grand scheme), just a few bombing raids, enforcing a "no-fly zone", and keeping the public thinking there is and will continue to be threats in that region...
Seriously, remember back (or research) what happened, what swayed media attention and stopped the witch hunt..... Because it was overnight one story to the next...
