-----Fox Responds To Obama's Speech: "Class Warfare" ...------
- Huddy: "Will [Obama's] Strategy Of Class Warfare Really Work?" During the December 7 broadcast of Fox News' Fox & Friends, guest co-host Juliet Huddy, teasing a segment on Obama's speech, asked, "Will his strategy of class warfare really work?" [Fox News, Fox & Friends, 12/7/11, via Media Matters]
- Fox's Johnson: Obama's Speech Was "A Smooth Jazz Liberation Theology Speech." Later during the December 7 Fox & Friends, Huddy asked Fox News legal analyst Peter Johnson Jr., "So, is [Obama's speech] a continuation of the president's plan to promote class warfare?" Johnson responded in part by claiming that Obama's speech was an example of "smooth jazz liberation theology." After Huddy later asked a similar question, Johnson stated that Obama's "message is clear: Redistribution is necessary." [Fox News, Fox & Friends, 12/7/11, via Media Matters]
- Hannity: "Sticking With Tradition, President Obama Resorted To Using Some Good Ole-Fashioned Class-Warfare Rhetoric." During the December 6 broadcast of Fox News' Hannity, host Sean Hannity introduced a segment by claiming that "President Obama resorted to using some good ole-fashioned class-warfare rhetoric" in his speech. Later on the show, Fox Business host Stuart Varney stated, "I'm listening to [Obama's speech] very carefully, and it reminds me of a British socialist, frankly, from the 1940s, 1950s." [Fox News, Hannity, 12/6/11]
- Greg Gutfeld: "President Obama Has 1,000 Words For Class Warfare." During the December 6 broadcast of Fox News' The Five, co-host Greg Gutfeld said that Obama's speech was a "sugarcoated speech on class warfare" and that Obama has "1,000 words for class warfare." [Fox News, The Five, 12/6/11, via Media Matters]
... While Others On Fox Accuse Obama Of Promoting Socialism
- Dick Morris: Obama's Speech Promoted A "Collectivist European Socialist Philosophy." On the December 7 edition of Fox News' Fox & Friends, Fox News contributor Dick Morris claimed that Obama promoted a "collectivist European socialist philosophy" in his speech. [Fox News, Fox & Friends, 12/7/11, via Media Matters]
- Fox Guest Chris Plante: "We're Seeing The Return Of Nationalism Combined With Socialism." During a discussion of Obama's speech on the December 6 broadcast of Fox Business' Lou Dobbs Tonight, guest Chris Plante claimed that "we're seeing the return of nationalism combined with socialism. We haven't seen that since my father was flying hellcats over France." [Fox Business, Lou Dobbs Tonight, 12/6/11, via Media Matters]
------Fox Regularly Attacks Obama's Speeches, Initiatives As "Class Warfare"------
- Obama's Debt-Reduction Plan: "Class Warfare." In September, in response to Obama's deficit-reduction plan, which called for increasing taxes on the wealthy, Fox responded by accusing Obama of engaging in class warfare. [Media Matters, 9/19/11]
- Obama's Jobs Bill: "Class Warfare." Following Obama's September speech outlining his jobs plan, Fox figures accused him of engaging "class warfare" and "soak[ing] the rich." [Media Matters, 9/13/11]
- Obama's Plan To Eliminate Tax Breaks On Corporate Jets: "Class Warfare." In June, Fox figures including Lou Dobbs and Eric Bolling responded to Obama's call to eliminate tax breaks on corporate jets by accusing Obama of "class warfare." [Media Matters, 6/30/11]

The best way to fix this whole recession is to stop free trade and implement tarriffs on all imports. We need to bring all our outsourced jobs back to the US and become self sufficient once again! We have the technology but the Corporations are getting greedy. I just dont see the occupy movement working fast enough to fix a dying economy.

$400 bil/year is substantial, but that's very similar to the amount that we get from revoking the bush tax cuts.
Or if you throw in a bundle of tax increases on the wealthy from just about any angle, you can close the gap.
Keep in mind, the stuff we get in trade we get at GREAT prices, or we wouldn't do it. There is a cost to "bringing all our manufacturing jobs back."
There is no cost to spreading the wealth from those who siphoned it off of the economy to those who worked hard to produce it.

You know someone i having an impact on Fox when Bill O'Reilly calls them "a pinhead" and Jesse LaGreca has earned that honor already for standing up to all the distractions, distortions and deceptions that Fox tries to put over.
"Bill O'reilly has quite a bit to answer for in his life. He has made a career off of spewing lies, character attacks, occupying luffa's, and pushing people already on the cusp of mental disorders into committing crimes like murder. He sees nothing wrong with this as it serves to continue selling his books and increasing his ratings.
Now Jesse has a habit of not only speaking the truth - but speaking truth to power and those codified by the establishment. These guys seem to have very thin skin when confronted with something that can not be clearly defined as us and them or black and white.
In a small sense, yes, but we`re winning battle. I think --
you know, Politifact called Frank Luntz`s talking points the lie of the
year. Fox News is a lie factory. If I`m a working class guy who`s the
message man, then that`s my talking point. Fox News is a lie factory.
Don`t believe what they say.I read a lot. I like to consider myself a student, so to me
it`s about education. And I think Fox News would like to get rid of every
book except Ayn Rand`s collected works and the Bible. You know, to me,
it`s about making yourself aware. We`re talking about closed minded people
who are selling an agenda. So let`s be aware of who we`re up against." - 6 months ago

Once again Faux News casts conservatives as victims of big evil liberals. I'm all for free speech but this has gotten way, crazy out of control. The Constitution guarantees you the right to free speech, not the right to propagandize and broadcast bald face LIES. There is no difference between Faux News attacking everything liberal or Joseph Goebbels verbally attacking Jews. The ignorance, hatred, bigotry and vitriol of the Nazi's is alive and well at Faux News. The only thing that's different is the target of their hate.

'Wealthy' is not synonymous with 'successful'. Unless you mean 'successfully' driving the economy into the ground and then getting bailed out at the expense of $80,000 for every man, woman, and child in America. Or if they 'successfully' destroy the environment and the health of the population and pay politicians to not regulate them. Or if they 'successfully' move American jobs overseas to exploit the cheap labor camps in 3rd world countries.
I get it, Paratus. You're cool with Socialism for corporations and the wealthy, and enjoy the predatory capitalism for the rest us. You love having corporate influence in every facet of our government. You enjoy environmental disasters and paying for the clean up with your tax money.

"When you demonize the successful and allege that they ""owe" someone someting because they ARE successful, that is class warfare."
You might have had a point, but you are making an argument off of the generalization, or seem to be making the argument off of the generalization, that those who are successful become so on their own without the hired help of any other people. Yes, successful people tend to come up with the ideas and they should profit more from those ideas than those who just do the grunt work, but the amount of money earned by those who are successful in corporations versus the amount earned by those who actually do the work to create the product is grossly out of proportion.
Now if you want to talk about class warfare, true class warfare is giving CEO's enormous bonuses during an economic recession while a company and/or corporation is suffering losses while cutting standard employee wages and/or jobs.

The only response to that is what OWS shows to be the facts that "They only call it class warfare, when we fight back"
But Jon Stewart brings up a much better point that why is that only people like Rod Blagojevich and Martha Stewrt go to jail when the other more outrageous crimes for the same things go unpunished?
It's all a matter of connections, who you kniw to lobby for you and how much you can pay off to avoid any accountability, that's the difference between Team Evil and Team Stupid that Fox maintains, it's all in the revenue stream as to who they will smear and who they will defend.
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/12/06/1042648/-Fear-and-loathing-in-the-Wealt...
That's why Fox has been hammering on Obama even before he was elected to try and drain support for him, because it served the interest of the 1% as Jesse LaGreca points out
"Now, let's make no mistake, Republicans HATE President Obama. Sometimes I think they hate Obama and Liberals more than they love their country. Republicans who swear allegiance to Grover Norquist first and the Constitution second are desperate to defeat Obama but they are aware that Romney and Gingrich, their top men for the Presidency, are severely flawed candidates that no one likes, not even Republican primary voters.
Everyone who isn't a Fox News watching dittohead has had it up to here with Tax Cuts for the Rich, endless wars, budget cuts and corporate welfare. Momentum has shifted drastically away from the politicians who serve the wealthiest one percent and their agenda to a populist movement that is shaping the narrative in America and resonating with millions upon millions of working class people who are fed up with a broken system that robs the poor to pay the rich.
The corrupt Oligarchy fears a winning message that paints them for what they are. They fear the idea that taxing the rich is an overwhelmingly popular. Even Republicans voters think that we should raise taxes on the rich. They fear the idea that people everywhere agree that we need to rein in Wall Street.
They fear the idea that we are sick and tired of their wars, we are sick of their bigotry and discrimination, and We The People overwhelmingly want money out of politics. They fear these ideas so much that they loathe even talking about it. They'd rather talk about death panels or Muslim terrorists, anything but fairness, accountability and economic justice."

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/12/07/1043170/-Accountability-Join-me-on-live...@-8pm
"Occupy Wall Street protesters love our country, and we are here to fix it. The real name of the game is accountability. We are not mad at wealth. We are not mad at people who are successful. We want everyone to prosper together.
The word accountability should be on the tip of the tongue of every patriot who believes in the rule of law. We can not have a social contract without accountability (and the constitution IS a contract, so is every economic activity, when you think about it).
There must be accountability both for the governed and the governors.
Law makers must be not be above the law. We can not have a President with 84 ethics violations, nor can we have a President who tortures and commits war crimes, nor can we have a President who summarily executes people without trial.
We can not have functioning economy if the largest actors within the system police themselves. The profit motive will forbid ethical behavior in the name of the greatest profit. The market will not police itself, neither will corrupted politicians dependent on corporate campaign donations to fund their re-elections police the marketplace, they have been bribed to do otherwise.
At the end of the day, without accountability there is no justice, and if there is no justice there can be no peace. The debacle in Iraq and the ungovernable landscape of Afghanistan are testimonies to that fact.
We must demand accountability under the rule of law for those people who have broken it. If a corporation like Bank of America is a person than it should be held to the same standards be held to that a person would be held to if a person broke the law. A person can not bribe the police officer on his beat, and neither should a corporation be allowed to bribe the regulators, the law makers and law enforcers on their beat. These truths I hold to be self evident.
The fact of the matter is, without accountability we are all at the mercy of a broken system that favors the people who lack ethics and morals, and I believe in what Adam Smith spoke of when he wrote of ethics, because it is in our best interests to care for our fellow man and to not allow any one power hold a monopoly of power, regardless of whether that power is economic or political.
This is what we are fighting for. This is what Democracy looks like; accountability.
People within the private sector broke the law. Corporations broke the law. Corrupt politicians broke the law, or re-wrote the laws to make sure accountability would never happen. There must be consequences within the rule of law for those that break it."

Huh - let's see, can anybody guess what the memo from Roger and Rupert spelled out as talking points??? I'll take a wild guess at 'class warfare' and socialism!
Sadly - it works on most of their brain dead viewers. So the real story - that there is a very real class warfare going on right now pitting corporations and the 1% against the rest of us - gets wrapped up and sold as Obama and the liberal/socialist/communist/etc declaring class war on everybody else. What is is quite astounding is to watch how said Fox viewers will turn around and parrot exactly what they heard on Fox - even though they are actually arguing for the 1% and corporate power against their own best interest. It would be a hysterically funny sit-com if it was so pathetically tragic.

The lie that is "Trickle Down" is the real class warfare, and it has been going on for the last 30 years to our detriment. A "Trickle Up" theory is far more reasonable. Increase wages for the working classes and they will spend that money on goods and services which will make its way up the chain to the business owners/capitalists/shareholders.
