Today in History for December 12th ! The day we should have Revolted.

This was the most pissed off, despondent, disillusioned, depressed and frightened that something political had ever made me feel. Then it was all downhill after that.

Its not too late kenny we still could.

Being undermined at every turn (with echoes of having been repeatedly undermined in the past), the toughest thing for many many people nowadays is keeping the hope and believing that their efforts count for something.
Each one of us can work, motivate and inspire, if we can draw out and derive the same passion we had before the 2008 election.
The thing is not to give up, or allow anyone you know to give up! If we start local, it can become global.

We had our wars with Clinton/Gore and don't forget about the Oklahoma city bombing. Gore had 8 years to do something about global warming and didn't do Jack sheet. Gore would be working for the elites and corportists just like bush and obama.

Americans will never revolt in any "effective " manner.

And this would probably have made another man give up completely and Mr. Gore could have done so as well but he didn't. The last 11 years have not been good for the U.S. but it is because of his perseverence and passion regarding our environment/climate change that the world as a whole is more aware of the present danger we now face. He has done more on this crisis than any president ever has from DC and he has been an inspiration to me and so many others.

Sad day in history...

Absolutely right on, kennymotown! People in the 60's and 70's did all they could to make sure their voices were heard. We need far more organized protests! I still feel the outrage of Dec. 12th. Great post; troubling but important reminder.

That reminds me.....

Is everyone paying attention to your local election methods? Try your best to make sure they're legitimate.

I almost puked watching this. Our country hasn't been the same ever since. We should've had a Occupy movement then, already! Occupy DC, Florida, and the Supreme Court. Demand, demand, demand....like we do now.

definitely when I had no doubt left that the very organization and way of life we have believed in no longer exists uncorrupted and we have way less freedom than we would like to realize.

Its both parties to be blamed. The government and the people as well.

I don't think we will recover.
It has nothing to do with bush or gore.

But the people of this country allowed the republic to be pissed on.
This has continued with draconian legislation.

I remember just wishing al gore would go away. Not because I didn't like him, but because of my shame. I didn't want to think about what happened to the republic.
