Fox is taking a poll on OWS. Let's tell them what we think.

I think this may be the only time I post an article from fox, but it is just a poll, so I forgive myself.

    • glad I could vote in favor of OWS, but bewildered on how 57% of the people who took that poll disagree with them. I just wish they'd take a long walk off a short pier

    • I believe I was able to vote four times. Not a good poll even though 41% support Occupy. Not a good poll. Maybe we should vote as many times as we want so they at least think that this poll is not good. Fox exec, "41%!!!, that can't be right!" Got to keep up with their voting drones (people paid to vote every single second).

    • I don't understand what you hope to gain here? Why legitimize FOOLS NEWS on any level?

It's like trying to convince the KKK that racism isn't acceptable in a decent society. Facts and opinions from the left only feed the beast.

.by Tom McMahon on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at 7:49am.Let me say under the original consitution and bill of rights NO permits were required to exercise the rights of peaceful assembly, Protests, Free Speech and Press, along with petition. Permits were and are a modern accepted norm for being allowed to protest. This itself is unconstitutional as long as protesters stay off of private property. Public areas, parks, sidewalks, any publicly owned and operated space is fair game and completely within the original concepts put forth by our founding fathers. Today's politicians want to insulate themselves from public ridicule and exposing those politicians as tools of big business not the constituants to whom they are the most indebted. Those who call protesters socialists, communists or any other derogotory comment they can muster forget, these people are real patriots, willing to put all on the line for what is right and just. The following demands should have been put forth by OWS crowd from the get go.

      1) Congressional representitives should be elected at large in their states, with representitives rotating districts year to year in order to facilitate constituant services. This would put republicans in democratic districts as well as democrats in republican districts with none of them beholden to local businesses to facilitate their own re election. They would be elected or re elected based on statewide judgement of the job they performed.

      2) Millionaire surtax, over one million to five million a 15% surtax on all income above one million up to five, over five million a 25% surtax on all income in excess of 5 Million, the reimposition of social security and medicare taxes on all income over 5 million.

      3) A Wall Street trading fee on all stock, bond and commodities trades, every single major stock exchange in the world imposes this type tax.

      4) Severe financial penalties for any corporation where the CEO draws more in compensation than 100 times the average salary of that business.

Remember the greatest growth in the middle class, the greatest growth in our economy came in the 1950's with high taxes on the very wealthy and the Glass Stegall act in effect not allowing banks to be investment houses and investment houses not allowed to be banks. It's called financial regulations which protect the economy form capitalist rapists who feel they can neve r earn enough money because they are driven by nothing but greed. Gordon Gecko of the original Wall Street set the standard for todays grotesque pigs of capitalism. Nothing wrong with being successful, becomeing very wealthy but there are social responsibilities that come with those blessings and hard work. Every major industrialized nation has higher taxes than the United States. If we wish to maintain a AAA credit rating in the future we had better come to grips with the realities that spending cuts alone will not solve the problem but revenue enhancement with spending cuts will enable the U.S. to maintain that rating thus keeping interest rates low & growth returned to our economy, not just the financial sectors.

    • Their plan is to make all the GOP candidates so unelectable that Obama gets the majority of peoples votes who are on the fence. All we can do is push people on how Ron Paul is the only candidate who has stuck to his guns, only one who wants to stop taking away our rights. That and explain how congress is bought. WE NEED A PAMPHLET/DVD CAMPAIGN TO EXPLAIN TO PEOPLE HOW THE FED WORKS AND HOW ITS THE MEN BEHIND THE SCENES WHO MAKE THE DECISIONS, NOT THE PUPPETS WE ELECT.

Any ideas for investors for pamphlets? There are enough awake people that if there was something concise that we could pass out, leave in mailboxes, under wipers, anything to get attention to the fact that our government is bought and besides auditing the FED, is going to be cleaning 'house' (pun intended), being the House of Reps.

No offence Phoenix518, but I disagree. I agree with Ron on a few points like ending the wars, but he's in favor of reducing government to the point that it's every person for them selves. I can see his appeal the the Anarchists, but I feel there is an important role for the government; mabe a different government, but government just the same.

    • We can vote 100,000 times each and they will only show the results that they want. They controll the results, They will never post anything factual. Nice try though.

This isn't just about you and your look on FOX, but an investment in changing people's minds (by no sly means). Unfortunately, the type of people who watch FOX news are the same people who hop onto the bandwagon or submit to ad populum. If they see a poll that shows the rest of the nation largely disagrees with the protests, they'll fall in line like good sheeple. But when it's contested, or close, as it is now, that raises questions.... Doubts. I humbly request a reconsideration.

What's to say that they'd report it if it was 99% favorable? They're proven liars who have no business in journalism whatsoever. How people could be so gullible so as to believe their propaganda is beyond me.

But because I respect your posts and viewpoints (as well as yours too, WakeUpPeople) here, I'll go vote.

      Edit:

Results as of 12:12 AM CST--40.49% favorable to 57.78 unfavorable....and I hope my computer doesn't catch cooties....I know I feel pretty icky.

It's running 60/40 against OWS. Not bad actually, considering it's FOX, the belly of the beast.

      Vote YES people!

    • I am really curious to find out what their viewers really think. I am sure their viewers are also curious to find out what they think. As soon as FOX News tells them what to think, we will all know.

No problem since Fox has so many examples of irony and hypocrisy, they are like "low hanging fruit" so it's an easy catch.

      http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/12/14/1045249/-Fox-News-Channel-Rejects-Ameri...

"My office just got off the phone with Erin Kelly, head of political ad sales at the Fox News Channel. She told us our ad “French Romney” was rejected because everything Fox airs “has to be truthful.”

No, I’m not making this up. 60 seconds after the call ended, Erin called back to clarify. She says our ad was rejected because it was “misleading.”

      Really.

Because if it’s one thing we can all agree with, there would never be anything on the airwaves at Fox that a fair-minded person could construe as misleading."

All of them should since they are only unintentionally funny now. Just think what they could do if they got some tips on how to practice doing it on purpose? They could be hiliarious!

Since Megyn Kelly and Brooke Alvarez are practically twins they should have no trouble giving the Onion News Network some competition, both have the same amount of facts in their shows
