    • Mr. Gingrich is supposed to be a historian so I have some history he might be interested in. Quotes from Americans about god. We can all determine for ourselves what they might think about "One Nation Under God".

"Religions are all a like, founded upon fables and mythology." Thomas Jefferson

"The Bible is not my book nor Christianity my profession. I could never give assent to the long complicated statements of Christian dogma."
      Abraham Lincoln

"Anyone who knows history, will I think, recognize that the domination of education or of government by any one particular religious faith is never a happy arrangement for the people." Eleanor Roosevelt

"Religion and government will both exist in greater purity, the less they are mixed together." James Madison

"Whenever we the obscene stories, the voluptuous debaucheries, the cruel and torturous executions, the unrelenting vindictiveness, with which more than half the bible is filled, it would be more consistent that we called it the word of a Demon than the word of God." Thomas Paine

"The Christian system of religion is an outrage on common sense. Why is man afraid to think?" Thomas Paine

"We have the most religious freedom of any country in the world, including the freedom not to believe...." Bill Clinton

"This would be the best of all possible worlds if there were no religion in it."
      John Adams

And I will end with this quote from perhaps our most intellectual of Founding Fathers.

"When a religion is good, I conceive that it will support itself: and when it cannot support itself, and God does not take care to support it, so that its professors are obliged to call for the help of the civil power, it is a sign, I apprehend, of it being a bad one." Benjamin Franklin

    • Newt Gingrich served his wife divorce papers while she was in a hospital bed getting treatment for cancer and still gets to run for President, while Congressman Weiner absolutely had to leave congress for a sexting photograph which showed no skin. Where does the GOP get this idea that they are the guardians of purity and family values. Ask Mark Sanford what's out on the Appalachian Trail. They have no moral authority at all. Call them on it for once.

He was charged with 84 violations, was reprimanded on one, paid for the investigation out of personal funds. The violation: use of a political consultant to develop Republican legislation and the agenda related to it. Democrats leveled the charges.
This is typical, the use of the shotgun tactic under the premise that something will stick or the allegations will be so overwhelming that the accused HAS to deal, either by resignation or such disgrace that they are rendered politically impotent. Recently we saw a prime example of this with Herman Cain and now the Democrat party is trying to do the same thing with Paul and some "racism" charges.
Why don't you find something of substance in his policy to argue or is this intellectually easier? Obummers record and policies are much worse than a House ethics violation.

I find a lot of substance in the fact that he was fined $30,000 on ethic charges while he was Speaker of The House. He was run out by his own party. The Speaker of The House is third in line to be president. He was a disgrace to his party and the American people and I didn't even mention his three wifes. One on a hospital bed with cancer.

i don' like most of his policys, especially that he wants to overturn gays being open in the Miiltary. Go back to DADT.

I was only commenting on Newt, but since you brought it up, President Obama has had many accomplishments. At the moment a big one. Were coming out of Iraq.Republicans are unhappy with that. They would keep us there, till hell freezes over. Newt hasn't and will never be as good as Obama.
