Kim's death was announced Monday by the state television from the North Korean capital, Pyongyang.
Kim is believed to have suffered a stroke in 2008 but appeared relatively vigorous in photos and video from recent trips to China and Russia and in numerous trips around the country carefully documented by state media. The leader, reputed to have had a taste for cigars, cognac and gourmet cuisine, was believed to have had diabetes and heart disease.
THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. Check back soon for further information. AP's earlier story is below.
SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — North Korean television announces in a "special broadcast" that its leader Kim Jong Il has died in Pyongyang. He was 69.

And I stand corrected from my previous post. It may be closer to six million who are suffering starvation under that POS. People risk their lives to escape North Korea and if caught at the border wind up in camps. And the world community is ignoring this. No wonder they cry at his death, no one else shows any sort of caring for the human rights abuses going on there.

South Korea is on high alert now because they don't know what is going to happen with his son having control of the nukes. Personally, I don't think his son is going to be doing much of anything. The military though is another story. I'd keep my eye on China as well. And as far as Kim Jong IL is concerned, he murdered over two million people through starvation and was a mass murderer. Yet you see people in North Korea showing open and public grief at his death. There you see the power of mass brainwashing and Stockholm Syndrome. Bizarre.

DING DONG THE WITCH IS DEAD! Sorry but I cannot help but be happy this guy has keeled over. I just hope his son is turns out better and smarter than his father, then again their could be a huge civil war, total break down, then we could just take the leash off of S. Korea and then no more problem.

You can't tell a book by its cover. Rumor has it that he has had plastic surgery and has been fattened to make him look like his grandfather, the first of the dynasty whom the North Koreans respected and revered far more than they did Kim Jong Il, and Kim Jong-Un has been intensely groomed for the position of North Korea's leader.

Perhaps, but he has always been portly, look at the pictures showing him as a spoiled little brat, he looked like the Asian version of the German fat kid from the Willy Wonka movie that kept saying "I want chocolate". Therefore, he most likely displays what no other N. Korean is fortunate enough to own, well nourished fat cells, that he's been accumulating since he was at least 6 years old. He does look more like his grandfather than is father, so the safe bet's on him getting more of the genetics that came from his paternal grandfather than from his squat and stout father.

You are right on! Yeah, China is responsible for N. Korea, it's a country that they intervened and interfered with, in a civil war going on in another nation. They have propped up the feeble dictatorship of these clowns, now in their 3rd generation. My dad was there during the Korean war, he never dreamed that it would still be under a communist dictatorship in 2011!
We try hard to intervene in foreign affairs only when it is in our interest or an ally, and we spent a lot of money in Iraq and Af building and developing both, then we leave the places in a much better condition than they were before we "interfered" (only exception that I can document to this claim is Viet Nam, but oh yeah, that was Kennedy and Johnson's war, it was Nixon who pulled us out of the cragmire of a democrat managed war!).
Therefore, since the Chinese communist dictatorship fancies itself as a superpower now, they need to step up to the plate and take care of their dirty spawn. Sadly, we can't expect any testosterone from our own government on this issue, you'd think that we would demand that China take care of their step child's anti-social behavior. It's too much to expect that our man-child would have the testicular mass to stand up to his fellow travelers in that dictatorship; perhaps Hillary could make the call! :)
