Cenk Interviews Rocky Anderson, Progressive 3rd Party Candidate

Vic_Romano
Cenk interviews Rocky Anderson, the former mayor of Salt Lake City who is running for president as a candidate with the newly formed Justice Party.

I was really motivated with the way Mr. Anderson spoke about political issues that seem to continually be swept asunder in the name of partisan politics. While I think there are differences between the two major parties, one fact remains: They're both on the payroll of the big corporate interests that are running this country right into third world status.

Oh well, just in case you didn't get to watch this interview, I hope you enjoy it.

I posted this, not just because I'm totally dissatisfied with the American political system, but also because I'm not happy with the way Current's site, for all intents and purposes, firewalls the "community" section from the Young Turks and Countdown sections. It really seems to me that such a barrier shouldn't exist.

    • I am interested to see this guy's views on more issues and his voting record. Currently I am supporting Ron Paul but I am interested to hear of any new candidates. I would love to see a viable alternative to Obama. After all the lies I wouldn't give him my vote in a box, with a fox.. ect.

The more I read about Ron Paul the more I realize Paul & Kucinick have
a commonality of interests. How much they have as a common set is un
known to me exactly. Only an honest, spontaneous debate between both
without time limits, aired by a reputable public interest group who have no
ties to the Kochs etc, and mediated by honest Govt figures like Allen
Greyson, Jesse Ventura, Arnold Schwartenegger, Russel Feinbgold, and
with questions coming from OWS movement protesters could answer that.
But as they've both visited and supported the OWS movement..., As their
own parties won't allow them to freely speak...As the ass media Corporatist
flunkies won't let them speak, and either scoff at them in Ron Paul's case,
or ignore them in Kuninick's case pretending they might disappear if they
pretend not to notice & acknowledge both of them...All this convinces me
they should run together on the same Independence Party presidential
ticket. Most Americans of all States support the OWS protest Movement.
And with a proposed law before Congress seeking to replace the antiquated
electoral college with a popular vote, they'd win by a landslide. Then we
would be likely to obtain change we can believe in which isn't reflective of
the Corporate Fascism Nobamabots advocate for. Obviously a vote for
Nobama is a vote for a bad status quo. A voter for Romney is a vote for
a much worse status quo with the anti Kennedy Hitler Bush X pres advocating
      for that Corporate puppet Romney.

    • Justice is at the core of all issues of inequality whether the environment, financial,or the justice system. With Justice restored as Rocky says should be done, all the issues of the 99% are addressed.I hope to see a website for his party soon.

    • Until such time that we unstack the deck that plurality gives the main parties, any third party vote is a vote for the Republican or Democrat most opposite your beliefs. Were this not true, Republicans would not have financed Nader's campaign in 2000. For now, the place to challenge Obama is in the primaries.

I respectfully disagree . This particular candidate will force the other parties to talk about issues they never would have , create policies toward justice , and embolden justices to uphold constitution , the law of the land . People want justice , fairness . Who will make them talk about it ? OWS , is one way . Rocky is another .

I don't know what else there is to say. If the 2012 election were held between Obama, a Republican and a progressive third party candidate, every vote for the progressive increases the likelihood that the Republican will win. Obama may be far short of ideal, but with Republicans in power, we will see the fascist plutocracy of Fitzwalkerstan carried out on a national level. Republicans govern exclusively for the benefit of of millionaires, billionaires and corporate criminals.

Now, had Bernie Sanders challenged Obama in the primary, I would have voted for him.

I'm all for that discussion taking place, but I question whether Rockey cam make it happen. I have no dict evidence for this, but I'm confident that 95% of American voter have never heard of him and do not think he can generate the coverage needed to improve that much, over the next year. OWS will be far more effective.

    • We absolutely need more Independents stepping forward to run for office. Ballot access reform should go hand in hand with campaign finance reform.

    • I saw him In an interview on Democracy Now not too long ago and was actually quite impressed -- I'd like to see how far this/he can go and I sure as hell would like to see someone give Obama a real run for his money, but at this juncture I need more info on this guy b4 I trust him to actually run this country -- I trusted Bush-dark and THAT was a major mistake ... ain't gonna make a mistake like THAT again in my lifetime!

Pwr 2 the 99%! Dismember the 1% and their political WHORES!

    • I particularly enjoyed his comment about overcoming our fear of the greater evil winning if we don't vote for the lesser. He's so right about that.
