If Pres. Obama didn't get us out of Iraq fast enough, look to the military. If we can't get out of Afghanastan. Look to the military. If he is doing what they want as far as rendition. Look to the military. We have lost control of our military. Can he get it back? Can he keep from doing the things they want? We shall see. I would not want Bush/Cheney military under my command. They hate him for dadt, they hate him for getting Osama, they would hate him if he hadn't. they hate him for being black when he is just as white. they hate him for the health care bill, for being strong, for giving them what they want and them demanding fair play. they hate him for even making squeeky noised of regulation, for E. Warren, for Sotamayor. For the tea party taking over....we are the balance of power. Occupy Politics, Get the Money Out.

Absolutely. It would take a year to state the multitude of reasons why White Americans, claim is their justification for their extreme hate of President Obama.. I know that he has numerous White supporters, however, other than a few Blacks, I never see any other Minorities exhibit such extreme hate for him.

It is interesting to me that black people have wanted to integrate into American society and now that Obama has done just that, many of us are offended.
I personally think we collectively suffer from multiple personality disorders.
We wanted a black president. Now we have one they are offended because he is the president first and black second. However, the job requires you to be president first and foremost. to be sure, he is that, even though a lot of people hate him because he is black.
Ironically, the same people who hate him, disregard his integrity, but are willing to accept Herman Cain and for the most part because he plays to their sense of superiority and entitlement. In the face of truth, they resisted to the very end the fact that he was lying because they did not want to hear the truth.
I applaud the president. I disagree with a lot of what he does, but he certainly is better than the alternatives. I must say, that I am in favor of the best candidate irrespective of their race. The very tenet which most Americans claim they support. However, most neglect to add the caveat, " as long as they agree with me, or I agree with them"

I agree totally with your observations. I was beginning to think that I was the only one who came to that conclusion.
President Obama is the president of the United States of America, and unlike our last president, he takes his job very serious. He is doing exactly what he was elected to do.
I don't recall any president being hated as much as he is, although many Americans will deny it, but it is definitely because of the color of his skin. He is damned if he do, and damned if he don't.
The same people who were willing to accept Herman Cain, are willing to accept the rest of the clowns in the Tea-Party/Republican Circus. Herman Cain was just one of the Acts. There is no comparison to Cain and President Obama, they are on different levels.
You are definitely right about there being no alternative to the president, he is light-years ahead of his opponents. He would be so much better with adequate support
I will vote for him again in 2012, because I know that he has been dealt a dirty hand. - 5 months ago

The president is the commander-in-chief. He is the senior official of all of our armed forces. We may not like war, ( I don't) but the president is charged with protecting the American people. That includes fighting wars. From the beginning, the Revolutionary war, 1812, spanish-american, civil, WWI, WWI, Korean, Vietnam,Gulf, Iraq, Afghanistan...Our history is replete with war and wars.
How then can you say that fighting war is not presidential?

Nanac, it is patently obvious to see that if President Obama had some support, he could and would do a lot of good. However, given the circumstances, he is only one man with a lot of problems to deal with, a short time to effect change and so much opposition, that he has to do what he can and at times, the problem is not so much what he chooses to do, but the options from which he has to choose.
Multiple choice questions have the answers limited by the selection. If none of the selections are good, it is rather difficult to blame the chooser for the limited choices he has to choose from, but we see that is exactly what is happening here.
If a better choice for president were available, I would make it based on his/her qualifications. For me, race is not the primary reason to vote for him. I must admit it is appealing to note that of all the prospects for president, the best choice is a black man.
Ironically, most white people think that black people should accept a white man as their president, but many who feel that way at the same time do not feel they should accept a black man as their president. (Even in face of the fact that he is just that, their president)
At times, I have had to contend with the fact that president Obama has made decisions that are overtly offensive to me as a black American. It is readily apparent to me, but those who are blinded by prejudice ignore the precarious position Obama puts himself in when he makes the type of decisions that ignore the black Americans political positions.
Over the years, every time that a black person was the first to break the color line, he had to walk carefully. It is ironic that as president of the United States, the most powerful position in the world, he still has to walk as though his floor is covered with eggshells.

I am not making any excuses for supporting President Obama in the last election, and in 2012. Although I love and support Hillary Clinton, I felt that he was the better choice. McCain/Palin were just as scary as the lunatic Tea-Party politicians that are seeking to replace him.
I want to be clear about one thing, President Obama is the first Black American, that I have ever supported for president. Not because he is of mixed race, but because he is a brilliant politician, and I feel that he actually cares about promoting the general welfare of the American People.
It is extremely ironic for White people to use race as the primary factor for selecting politicians, but accuses Blacks of doing the same thing, and this is just another lie told mostly by Haters. It don't take a rocket scientist to know that Blacks always vote Democratic, because supporting the GOP would be self-defeating. Republicans don't give a damn about Blacks, or any other poor or working individual! - 5 months ago
