Capitalism Is Dying a Natural Death !
source: http://axisoflogic.com/artman/publish/Article_58901.shtml
Axis of Logic - The curtain is going down on the lone-superpower world we know and it is now a most urgent question if and when and how forces for true democracy, human rights, peace and civilization can come out and dissipate the cloud that has spread over what was once an almost decent way of life.
The long-time descent into totalitarian capitalism and neglect for anything but corporate profit has just about finished its course. The party is over. Bankruptcy is next. What we don’t know yet is how far-reaching this economic freefall is going to be.
Predecessors such as the German Reich are brought to mind, but the similarities are far from parallel. The inhumanity is on the same scale but the hypocrisy is even worse than in the Nazi era. Hypocrisy rules the world. No slogans the rulers of the United States or the rest of the Western world pronounce as their ideologies and goals can be taken for their face value. Lies are the only things that come out of the mouths of our so-called leaders and that is the way they have set up the sordid game to their own advantage.
We the people are not supposed to be aware of how we are being treated like dregs to be discarded. The powers that be imagine that, as long as we are not told the truth about how we are being cheated out of our birth rights, we will lie down like whipped dogs and lick the feet of our torturers.
How far we have come from the somewhat civilized society that the Founding Fathers had in mind for the people of the thirteen states can only be measured if we consider the abysmal lack of basic needs and basic rights that is now the norm in the United States. In fact, there are no areas left in the year 2010 that have been spared from the general decline, cultural, economic or humane. Human rights are in tatters, the standard of living for the vast majority of American families can go nowhere but further downhill, the voices of the people are left unheard, the standard of cultural institutions, quality education and all the privileges that are linked to it are being starved out of existence.
The prostitutes of the right-wing media are making the utmost possible din so as to effectively drown the voices of reason. The general sluggishness of people is being enhanced by the non-stop propaganda fed them through the mass media, the fake view of the world as a place where satisfaction can only be had from over-consumption and from participating in the violence that is constantly displayed to us as a model of life via these mass media, the artificial uppers and downers that are offered to us by the entertainment industry to fill in the void of our souls.
The environment is being plundered savagely with no concern whatsoever for the survival of mankind, the survival of the planet and all its millions of different species. Biodiversity is a forgotten concept, except for the rare rebels who go against the stream and try to make their life-saving voices heard over the din of the machines of the killer corporations. Those predators are clearly only out to maximize their profits without the slightest concern for the catastrophic effects on the environment.
The majority of people never see what the real world is all about. How can they? The distorted ‘values’ that money can buy are the only ones that are real to them.
A sunrise over the ocean, a maple leaf swirling in clear spring water, the little hand touching your cheek, the beauty of words coming from a writer’s soul – what happened to the marvels of life? What happened to the real world?
So how did this Ersatz world come about?
Capitalism, the way it is playing out today, is incompatible with true democracy. This insanity, this absurd form of capitalism is altogether negating a humane system of running the world with any consideration at all for the people on the planet.
Free Market capitalism, the Chicago School of Economics professor, Milton Friedman’s brainchild[1] , globalization, the catchword for the Empire’s total domination over the rest of the world, Washington’s New World Order, enriching the very few and strangling the masses – call it what you like but it’s a fantasy that is now finally crumbling. It all amounts to ‘screw the people’ and ‘greed is the power that makes the world go round’. The religion in the U.S.A. is greed and it’s the only true religion there is.
However, the giant is crumbling. A fast-spreading gangrene is eating away at the interior of the nation, its elite-oriented and half-starved educational system, its sad excuse for a working healthcare system, its decaying infrastructure. The very souls of the people are withering away, as their jobs are lost, their homes are foreclosed, their constitutional freedoms no longer respected, civil rights being increasingly downplayed by the police and federal authorities.
All this is adding to and interacting with the economic meltdown and the destruction of the environment, which at this point doesn’t even guarantee a livable future for the coming generations.
A multi-lateral world can not be stopped, as the giant is playing out its last trumps – in case it has any left. Emerging countries are becoming emerged countries. There have not been many signs of awareness of this evolution of the geopolitical reality from President Obama, but rather a continuation of the Neocon imperialism, which will, if allowed a free rein, lead the planet to disaster. It will render the environment unlivable and thus destroy the way of life of the billions of people all over the world. With the environment in ruins, there is just no way back. The corporations whose greed is responsible for the current situation do not seem to realize or care about the direction in which they are steering our planet.

"The religion in the U.S.A. is greed and it’s the only true religion there is."
We just got to see that. In the temples (the Malls) the endless repetition of mindless ritual (shopping) hit its' seasonal frenetic pace, goaded on by the mantra of Buy Buy Buy.

Nearly dead with christmas joys.

Capitalism, the lofty goal of a defective being. Not such a bad idea but out of the reach for such a single minded being as ourselves. We never seem to learn from experience so we continually make things even worse for our children, thats the real tragedy here. What are we leaving for the kids we all love and hope the best for, this? Shame on us.

I beg to differ...we are not "defective beings" and if we see ourselves as such it is because we have been poked and prodded to see it from that screwed perspective. I do not make things worse for my children... I try with all my effort to do the opposite. Together we can all make a greater effort than I by myself, but I am not and will never be alone i my desire to see a better future for us all. It is a very few that would have us believe differently.

capitalism, and the honest profits that in turn motivate competition and ad=vances, are not the problem. greed is. corruption. the 'american experiment' is not a fauilure, it was just murdered by greed and corruption. that said, i look forward to being part of the hand that delivers the final death stroke to this corrupt and bloated system. last june, when we decided to start a little protest in the following september, even we didnt imagine it would blossom so quickly into a global movement that only three months after its birth was moving into the second phase, and preparing not only nifty jargon to post at rallies and on internet boards, but solutions for what the 'next' system will be, and how wie will maintain a government that does what it should: take care of its people, from the poorest and weakest on up, as opposed to the monetary monarchy where profit is king and corruption its filthy whore, controlling our minds and lives. hail to the king baby, now get on with the death scene!

Human societies have a natural tendency toward feudalism. This must be fought through active citizenship. By the way that was the original justification for a tax supported education system
.“Well, Doctor, what have we got—a Republic or a Monarchy?”
“A Republic, if you can keep it.”
ATTRIBUTION: The response is attributed to BENJAMIN FRANKLIN—at the close of the Constitutional Convention of 1787, when queried as he left Independence Hall on the final day of deliberation—in the notes of Dr. James McHenry, one of Maryland’s delegates to the Convention.Drug besotted ignoramuses; bless their hearts; are going to have a hard time keeping a republic. I'm all for a social democracy. The combination of a socialist, yet democratic society has the power to bring all of humanity together and realize the unlimited growth potential of the human race. I hear people say that capitalism breeds creativity and innovation, but I see the opposite. How many good ideas have been shot down because of low profit expectations. Especially in the form of medicine.
I think if we remove the profit motive, true creativity and innovation will be unleashed, and lead us into the most prosperous time in all of mankind for all of mankind.

Well written! 1 thing I've always found so amusing about the basic debates about the precious-and-holy-economy (and the wrong-wingers "ideas" about it) is this idea that oh you just need to keep pushing people to be more "productive" that's the answer! "productivity gains"... they always fail to see that human beings are physical organism with physical (and mental!) limits. You can't just get infinite gains in speed, output etc. Did these idiots not learn -anything- from what was going on with the Japanese famously years ago, that they were literally worked to-death trying desperately to serve their precious god-companies. And then there is the basic problem, that very few will even talk about. What are you to do with people in a world where technology is almost in exponential growth, and population continues to grow. More people for less and less jobs. And the wrong-wingers insist that there will be no "well-fare state", what's the alternative? Mass homelessness, people in "camps"...?

This economic, financial system has been created exclusively for the wealthy to continue their gains while 99% of society struggle from paycheck to paycheck, if they are lucky enough to have a paycheck and worse yet, most of these gains are at the cost of our health and the environment!
Due to this rigged system our whole society has been hijacked! It is now completely controlled by those intent on nothing, but continued gain and profit ...even while known that this insane behavior will eventually be their own demise, they are a new form of parasite which is all too willing to kill their host for wealth and power.
Who are these few who will sacrifice so many for their own short term comforts?
Why are there these few who can sacrifice so many for their own comforts ?
This theft of wealth is one thing...some of us are not concerned about wealth and in my personal opinion are better off for it, but destroying our home, our planet for their own personal wealth ? Sacrificing ourselves and our children's lives so they can have 30-40 years of comfort ? Making us sick with diseases so they can feed their greed....Killing the wildlife, polluting the very soil and water we depend on for life !
How did these individuals become so important to rule the rest of us? In their quest for more they are killing all of us...I don't ask , "how can they sleep at night? " I ask, " How can we? "
We keep hoping for, " The truth to get out" isn't it already OUT ?
The few thousand individuals that control the corporations that destroyed the earth....we don't know them all , but isn't it about time they answered for the destruction they have caused and the destruction they continue to cause ? They have already proven...they will not stop until there is nothing left..even themselves! - 5 months ago

I am very thankful that myself and my wife both are of the same mind and vision about this very subject. We are taking advantage of the free market to set ourselves up financially to enable us to get off the USA Titanic while it hasn't yet officially crashed into the iceberg! I would love to be able to call it quits now but it will take about 5 years before we can free ourselves from this declining empire. We are targeting several different countries at this point and are taking trips over the next 5 years to evaluate them all for our USA retirement!
The criteria is quite simple - a friendly, stable, sane, and affordable place to call home. A decent ability to speak English, an infrastructure that is usable, and the ability to live nicely for quite a bit less than it costs here. The list of places that qualify are endless right now! I'm not sure how this all plays out because it is a fluid situation but I do know this - the USA has become a toxic place that has lost it's soul and many many many of it's citizens see it coming and are setting themselves up as we are.
What has been quite interesting over the last 3 years as we began doing our research and talking to our friends about it - we have found more and more people that have been thinking that exact same way! Yes, you give up some of the big luxuries that we have become fat and lazy on - however, the gains in living in a much happier, less stressful, simpler environment supported by a more organic diet is vastly superior than what life would be like on the current trajectory.

Kenny - I wish I could join you but I have grown tired of the fight! Not because it is hard but because it is fixed against us beyond a point where it can even remotely be repaired. The mass sea of Americans are so blind, ignorant, intellectually lazy, and hate filled that they are easily led to burp out whatever has been fed them by tainted media mega conglomerates. The judicial system is becoming disgustingly tainted to a point that sterile, sociopathic corporations now have more rights than the common citizen.
My voice is no longer heard, the truth is no longer the goal, equality is no longer sought after, and care for your fellow human and the common good has irreversibly been replaced with greedy and nepotism. There is absolutely NO way back from where we are now. There is just way too many powerful forces in control of this country that it will never get better!
I commend you on your urge to stay and fight - but me, I have put in my time on the line and I am not going to continue beating my head against a wall that will never even remotely make a dent in anything other than my skull. I wish that there was even the slimmest of an impossible probability that this country can reverse itself from the impending implosion and collapse but there is not a gazillion in a 1/gazzionth of a chance!

you are absolutely correct, but there are still many that don't see that to be the case yet....meant we as humanity in mass....the blinders are getting transparent fast though.

It was well written, and did you notice the article was from 2010? It's getting worse to the point they are not listening, to bad because the shit is about to hit the fan!

I tried to capture a picture of shit hitting the fan, but the looks I kept getting made me put it back in my pants. It would of taken ages to clean the walls and I'm not really sure fans are well made enough these days to take that kind of punishment. It's a real pity, it would of been a visual feast. :)
