Rumors Surface As Keith Olbermann Absent From Iowa Coverage

Image
LOrion
Keith Olbermann has been noticeably absent from some of Current TV's election 2012 coverage. Olbermann's absence was the topic of a New York Times article on Thursday, where reporter Brian Stelter wrote of possible tension that may be growing between the outspoken broadcaster and Current TV.

But see comments...many of us don't care a hoot about parroting FOX NEWS or MSNBC and giving GOP free air time. We care about OCCUPY and WE CARE about the 99%.

But please give him his set back!! Or don't you want him there anymore Al Gore?

    • Paying no attention to rumors, just waiting to see what happens this week. To be perfectly honest about it KO is what drew me to Current and what keeps me there, I'll watch TYT from time to time and every so often a documentary, but w/o KO there really isn't much of a reason for me to watch Current.

    • So what did happen to Keith's set.His show the last week looks like he's broadcasting in his basement.I do believe in simplicity. There is power in simplicity, perhaps this is Keith's new meme.

Wasting time with the GOP circus in Iowa is just that.Iowa is an exercise of a non event. It's a media distraction, their bread & butter.Get the people to believe they have a part in the process, when in reality they are far removed from the anointing of out next dear leader.

      Don't trust Obama
      Don't trust the elections
Don't trust anything but your gut feeling

Then you deserve whatever you get. A democracy has to be nurtured, & ours has long since been lost. If you don't want to live under democracy, you can continue to slide into fascism with the loss of your own rights. I prefer to fight for mine.

    • I'm totally amused by and enjoying the media attention and speculation on why Keith is absent from the Iowa Caucus coverage. It will be great for ratings! We love you Keith!

    • There is no concrete evidence that Keith is severing his ties with Current. So far, all I have heard are speculations/rumors about his absence. First and foremost, Kieth is a professional, and he will handle his business in a professional manner. I am confident, that he will announce his departure, similar to the way he announced his coming to Current....

    • The same Keith Olbermann that sat back and berated and marginalized the "decolonize" (refusing to call it #occupy, that's racially insensitive) movement for at least the first few weeks? He cares?

Alright fair enough, a few people chose to hard time them at first, one not wanting to get their hopes up for nothing, and 2 wanting them to rebel harder against the nay-sayers...

And what about the "But see comments"...? And quite a few are parroting FUX News, & MSNBC, and the rest of the msm..... With this whole "Ron Paul doesn't count" theme going on across all mediums...

$10,000,000 a year (yeah he really could identify with you, feel your pain and such), I would have fired him too..... and Al has all but abandoned his pet c u r r e n t years ago (hasn't posted under his account in at least that long), he might be around here somewhere, but I doubt he's calling all the shots...

Your picture is racist, offensive, disgusting and spews hatred. It's certainly your right to disagreee with Obama but posting a picture of Obama with a Hitler mustache is beyond contempt. Think what would have happened if anyone had done that with George W! You will be taken much more seriously without starting out with that amount of venom and hatred.

Believe it or not, there are compassionate millionaires. They may not have the same lifestyles as the rest of us but they're not all greedy bastards. Some are intelligent and empathetic enough to actually care about what happens to those less fortunate.

If you're hanging around on the Current website, it just tells the rest of us that Keith/Current are seen as a powerful threat to conservatives. So, Keith/Current=Success!

    • It's a dog and pony show, politicians are only there to support themselves and corporate interests. This is more than evident, it doesn't take much digging to figure it out for yourself. I don't think it's newsworthy but I think the revolution is.

    • I appreciate Keith, but I don't think it matters at this point, whether or not he participates in 'every' facet of election 2012 coverage. It's far from actual election night coverage. It's way too early to matter to anyone who's not planning to vote for any Republican.

I don't care who wins for the Republican ticket. As long as they are bringing the rest of the loons to the table, I will vote Democrat regardless. This early Republican campaigning has shown me, I don't want any of them to win the National election.

I'm sorry it was neat years ago, now it's a commercial... Of course you probably wouldn't want to see me make a "pod" about trolling on the internet, or organic fertilizer... So....

Likewise. I hadn't heard of Current until he joined them. Maybe that was the plan. Bring him on board for a few months to get some attention then dump him? Of course that would depend on what kind of contract he signed. I tried to watch the Young Turks a few times but they don't have the same focus and cutting wit that K.O. has.

I would find it hard to believe that Al Gore would've brought KO on with such fanfare just to boost the ratings for a short time and replace him with new faces. But anything can happen in this crazy world of ratings.

You're probably right and I expect him to be back on tomorrow. He's been closing with something like "Congratulations for putting up with another day of this crap." I miss that.

I use Dish Network, whose schedule shows his program starting back up tomorrow. Their schedule is not perfect but is usually right. I probably won't boycott Current but won't watch it nearly as much if he leaves.

    • Who cares if he's not part of the repteatard election coverage -- since all the evening msnbc anchors can't seem to talk about anything else I have stopped watching them until this circus is over with. I really could care less what the repteatards are doing to win the election as I won't be voting for ANY of them anyway!

      My sentiments, exactly.
I'm sick of hearing about the GOP clown car, and who's driving it today. It doesn't matter which one they finally settle on, they're all incredibly bad, and won't beat Obama, unless the fix is already in.

Then, let's take our country back. Join the new Justice Party, justicepartyusa.net, & vote for Rocky Anderson for President. He is a former, progressive, 2-term Democratic Mayor of Salt Lake City, & a very good man. Please check him out.
