NUIS has launched a program to pay Israeli university students $2,000 to spread pro-Israel propaganda online for 5 hours per week from the “comfort of home.”
The union is also partnering with Israel’s Jewish Agency to send Israeli students as missionaries to spread propaganda in other countries, for which they will also receive a stipend.
"This active recruitment of Israeli students is part of Israel’s orchestrated effort to suppress the Palestinian solidarity movement under the guise of combating “delegitimization” of Israel and anti-Semitism."
The involvement of the official Israeli student union as well as Haifa University, Tel Aviv University, Ben-Gurion University and Sapir College in these state propaganda programs will likely bolster Palestinian calls for the international boycott of Israeli academic institutions.
Paying students to spread Israeli propaganda online
"This is our opportunity, as Israeli students, to provide hasbara [state propaganda] that is correct and balanced, to help in the struggle against the delegitimization of the State of Israel and against hatred of Jews in the world."
That is one of the exhortations in a Hebrew document issued by NUIS, and translated by The Electronic Intifada, inviting Israeli students to apply for a program to help spread Israel’s message.

I have to admit that peace in that region is a good thing no matter how they get there but this seems a little tacky. Having said that, it won't work, the hardliners are too busy cleaning their AK-47's to pay attention to this. The insulting part is, we pay for this. I sure didn't ask if I could pay for this. I wonder what the average Israeli thinks about the average American? I think I'll find out. Gone to Israel.

I wonder if propaganda even works anymore. IMO, most can smell propaganda and immediately dismiss it or have a backlash against it.
Those that pay attention to propaganda, such as CNN/MSNBC/FOX know that the news is distorted but watch it for entertainment purposes.
When I watch Keith, I know the news is distorted with a progressive viewpoint.
Just wondering if propaganda really works? Even in dictatorships, people know they are being fed lies from the state controlled media.
But I guess it will give these kids jobs and give them the illusion they are helping their country. So I guess no harm done.

I works, it's just that because of the internet more discerning minds such as yourself and others are able to recognize it easier thus are not affected by it. Better still, you are even able to counter the propaganda if you choose to do so.
The advantage of Israeli state-run propaganda is because they know their target audience well (Christian Zionists and the political correctness crowd) and know how to manipulate their belief systems.
