Just my two cents and that's all it's worth but American Jewish Communites from many areas of the country are more conservative and anti Palestinian full rights and sovreignty than their Israeli counterparts. They contribute huge sums of money, one temple I am familier with raised over 1 million dollars for Israel. The support is overwheming. For the ways of the middle east, again I will claim only what I've read and researched, but the best liar is the best businessman is common, it follows through the cultures. That much I know. I also know that real friends are extremely hard to come by, who you could literally trust with your life. Israel has some huge problems, several million of them

    • @tverdell. I have a question. Let's say your ethnic group has been living for generations under oppressive rule. You disagree politically with the established power who are actually a minority in their political position but by virtue of there wealth and influence they call the shots. Some of your more active and oppositional family members have disappeared under unusual circumstances and your children are routinely bullied and injured. You live segregated from society in marginal land that lacks essential services and is land you have been forcibly relocated to while your oppressors are living in the home your greatgrandfather built and left to you as an inheritance. The laws of the land where you live says that you are not allowed to voice your resistance and you are utterly devoid of any political voice or representation. Your group decides enough is enough and you ruse up in revolution to this oppression violently. However, your oppressor takes the position that you are a terrorist but you and your friends and family are fighting for your freedom and a right to live in peace. What would Ghandi or MLK have done? How many generations are you going to humbly submit to the violence you yourself are subject to, yet you are not allowed to defend or retaliate? When are you going to get your freedom and peace? How is it going to happen if you have no other means to teach your goal except through violently overthrowing the oppression?

Perhaps, but that doesn't make them terrorists, they are defending their right to exist, just as Israel has a right to exist. On another note, the rhetorical firestarting has reached the point of combustion with Israel wanting to take pre-emptive strikes against Iran, who btw is one of the largest supporters of the Palestinian cause.

Israel says it wants peace, but peace is not profitable and they would have to concede vast amounts of territory they illegal have taken, so endless war on terror is the only solution to their existential crisis.

    • Good post Vierotchka. I had not heard much about Miko Peled.
I've followed Norman Finkelstein for years though. Well worth your time if you're tracking Israeli/Palestinian issues.

    • This is a very moving segment. The truth is so beautiful against the lies of Zionist propaganda. His book is at the top of my reading list.

    • The History Channel did a number of shows on the military actions of ancient hebrew leaders. Their actions were mirrored by modern Israel.

    • So, whats the answer? Drop all the billions we send to Israel and watch them crash and burn? The Arabs would love us. Somewhere in between? Israel gonna have to eat some humble pie, a lot of humble pie before this mess is over. No amount of diplomacy will fix the mid east problem until Israel gets off its high horse. Ever house they build on the Golan heights is a slap in the face to the PLO and the current war monger leader in Israel won't back down. Its wait and see but I don't see a good ending to this story.

Is it their creation? and why is called a State?? the 52th State of this USA??
You raised interesting points in your comment, but as always the truth is hard to grasp unless all the information is available..and it is not.

    • I really like the quote from the Israeli general Matti Peled, "Terrorism is a terrible thing, but the fact remains that when a small nation is governed by a larger power, terrorism is the only means at their disposal."

Very harsh but true words. This is where calling something terrorism is a semantical trick, when in reality the people committing the acts of violence are freedom fighters.

True, but there is never an excuse for terrorism, it's rather stupid.

      The Ghandi/MLK approach works.

Refer to the documentary, How To Start a Revolution.

    • This video explains where the philosophical war strategy of Pre-Emptive war came from. People in the US will deny all of the information in this video because they are so brainwashed to blindly support Israel...Israel can do no wrong....is the mantra of these organized forces in opposition to justice for the Palestinian cause.

So much of the problem with the US in relation to Israel is those (of course goes without saying!) right-wing lunatic christian-Zionists, gotta make sure we set the stage for our precious holy-apocalypse!

High time the Palestinians had themselves a homeland, and the Kurds too btw!
