A motorcyclist stuck a bomb on the side of the car in northern Tehran, say reports

A university lecturer and nuclear scientist has been killed in a car explosion in north Tehran, reports say.

Iranian media sources named the casualty as Mostafa Ahmadi-Roshan, an academic who also worked at the Natanz uranium enrichment facility.

The blast happened when a motorcyclist stuck a magnetic bomb on the car, said Iran's semi-official Fars news agency.

Several Iranian nuclear scientists have been assassinated in recent years, with Iran blaming Israel and the US.

Both countries deny the accusations.

Local sources said Wednesday's blast took place at a faculty of Iran's Allameh Tabatai university.

Two others were reportedly also injured in the blast, which took place near Gol Nabi Street, in the north of the capital.

'Magnetic bomb'

Mr Ahmadi-Roshan, 32, was a graduate of oil industry university and supervised a department at Natanz uranium enrichment facility in Isfahan province, Fars reported.

"The bomb was a magnetic one and the same as the ones previously used for the assassination of the scientists, and the work of the Zionists Israelis," deputy Tehran governor Safarali Baratloo said.

Witnesses said they had seen two people on the motorbike fix the bomb to the car. Another person in the car was reported to have been seriously injured.

The latest attack comes almost two years to the day since Massoud Ali Mohammadi, a 50-year-old university lecturer at Tehran University, was killed by a remote-controlled bomb as he left his home in Tehran on 12 January 2010.

    • The Mossad got bored again...

I just wish they'd go ahead and drag us into WWIII or let it go, how many nuclear scientists have been killed over there...? Like every one they've had at this point....

And TPTB in Israel are about that fuct up, sending their agents over to film 9/11, bringing them home to talk about it on an Israeli talk show.... And look at how they treat Palestine...

Think they mind killing scientists or instigating WWIII?

(No not the average Israeli citizen, but their government)

so you think mosaad, the same people who highjacked eichman from south america without being detected, sent israelis to america for the purpose of video taping an event sure to be broadcast on every television repeatedly across the world-and did so with out giving them an alias?

      really?
this is how a clandestine organization works to a successfull end?

      this makes sense to you?

    • Thanks secret warriors. You won't get any public medals or honors, but well done.

Following in the footsteps of "The Heroes of Telemark."

Late into the war British, American and Norwegian intelligence indicated that Hitler was well into the production of an atomic bomb. A critical component of the bomb, tritium or heavy water, was being manufactured by the Germans in a Norwegian plant in the Telemark district. The plant was owned by one of Norway's largest industrial firms called Norsk Hydro. The allies attempted on numerous occasions to bomb the Norsk Hydro plant and destroy the heavy water but these efforts proved unsuccessful. It was clear to the ally powers in London that the heavy water had to be destroyed by a ground force. Thus a mission was planned that would drop a small joint force of special Norwegian and British commandos. Their task was to penetrate Nazi security and destroy the heavy water that was soon to be shipped from Norway to Germany. This small commando team was to known later as "The Heroes of Telemark."

Now the other side of the story. If an intelligence agency authorized the bombing, these guys are always planning three or four moves ahead. The bombing was in broad daylight and designed to create a lot of attention. The risk of collateral injury or death to innocents was purposely a part of the plan. It could be Mossad, CIA, or it could be Iranian Intelligence. Maybe this guy was an objector to the program over matters of conscience. Oppenheimer is said to have expressed his reservations about designing and using an atomic weapon. Maybe by disposing of a dissident scientist in this manner, they killed two birds with one stone. Send a message to others who might have reservations and blame the Israelis or CIA at the same time. You just never know when intelligence agencies are involved.

    • If he was working on a cancer treatment for the numerous Iranians in need of radiation therapy, then this is indeed a tragedy; however if he was working on a nuclear bomb. . . .I guess we'll never know for sure.

I myself personally cannot lay the blame for this car bombing on Israel, but we have to look at history in the events leading up to the Iraqi invasion to understand this event.

      ***

"Assassinations of Iraq academics in Iraq never existed prior to April 2003.

Numerous reports for many months have stated that with collaboration from American occupation forces, Israel's espionage apparatus, Mossad, slaughtered at least 530 Iraqi scientists and academic professors.

Assassinations of Iraq academics in Iraq never existed prior to April 2003. Persistent Israeli hit squads against Iraqi scientists had been active in Iraq since April 2003, but the latest chapter was uncovered on Tuesday, 14 June 2005 by the Palestine Information Center which, citing a report compiled by the United States Department of State and intended for the American President, stated that Israeli and foreign agents sent by Mossad, in cooperation with United States, to Iraq, killed at least 350 Iraqi scientists and more than 200 university professors and academic personalities .

According to the report, which was referred to the U.S. president George W. Bush, Mossad agents had been operating in Iraq with the aim of liquidating Iraqi nuclear and biology scientists, among other scientists, and prominent university professors."

oh just give it time.im sure you will find a way to blame israel, as that is your deal.

just remember it is hard to blame israel for stopping the iranians from getting nuclear weapons, while you also claim iran doesnt have any interst in weapons.

but i have faith in you.if their is anyone driven to the endevour it is certainly you.
