Ron Paul is making it a point to repeat that Americans need liberty, free from interference from the big Nanny State. That may be reasonable, except for one thing. Ron Paul is lying, because he has no qualms about having the Big Brother state take the liberty from and trampling the rights of individual Americans...

    • There is a significant differance between wanting a federal ban on abortion like many of the Republican candidates do and wanting to leave it up to the states to decide as Ron Paul does. I get that you want a womans right to murder her baby to be a constitutional right and that's cool. But until it is then it should be a states issue to decide.

      Maybe that's the problem we have today. What's the point of having a state legislature when all the actions of that legislature are subject to approval of the federal legislature? Maybe in our mad rush to homogenize our nation we have lost some of the individuality that made us great. Each state setting it's own agenda and course and seeing what worked and what didn't Those states whose social policies dragged them down would lose population to those states that were more enlightened.

      Did some people get the short end of the stick? Yup, but that always happens. But aren't we ALL getting a pretty short end these days? Maybe we need to try something differant and see what works because the current plan pretty well sucks.

    • I think we're missing the point that despite all the nice rhetoric, "At five weeks gestation, the baby's heart divides into chambers and begins beating."....

      So at however many weeks, the babies rent is due, the baby can't afford it, so you abort a human being and think nothing of it...... And I'd bet anything most abortions are preformed at or after the 5th week. And that should be perfectly acceptable, to any woman (never mind the fact that women aren't asexual, it took 2 to tango, and the baby has a pulse...)......

      Well for starters, nobody, not even Paul is planning to take that "right" away..... And as someone like Paul might have noted, abortion is a traumatic thing, for the one having it preformed and those closest to her.

      So with all the things we have no say over, all the stupid hoops we must jump through, you pick the one about having a woman to have a sonogram before deciding on taking a human life as the "bad" one......

      Bravo, kudos, you've really busted his balls there..... He's such an evil controlling person, how dare he consider the ramifications of taking another life simply because it was "inconvenient"... How dare he make apparent how serious of a decision it is...

      I bet you support Obama's drone campaigns against undefined targets too......

      It's great the democrats will kill you, and (most) of the republicans just want to rob you blind or enslave you....... It's a tough call...
