GOP HATE

thinkingblue
This was a letter posted on Daily Kos by one of its members. It was so, to the point, that I felt a need to circulate it around a little more thus this post. It is a rant to all those who like to refer to themselves as members of the Tea Party and their GOP leaders. The GOP has such an easy task when it comes to adapting people's minds to vote for them; Spread hate and they will be yours, is their message and it has worked for more years than I like to remember. Let's stop the hate and bring on common-sense solutions to all our problems. I say ALL because we are ALL the same regardless of what the Republicans would like us to believe. thinkingblue

An open letter to the people who hate Obama more than they love America

By MinistryOfTruth DailyKos

I meet you all the time. You hate Obama. You hate gay people. You hate black people, immigrants, Muslims, labor unions, women who want the right to make choices concerning their bodies, you hate em all. You hate being called racist. You hate being called a bigot. Maybe if you talked about creating jobs more than you talk about why you hate gay people we wouldn't call you bigots. Maybe if you talked about black people without automatically assuming they are on food stamps while demanding their birth certificates we wouldn't call you racist. You hate socialism and social justice. You hate regulations and taxes and spending and the Government. You hate.

You like war. You like torture. You like Jesus. I don't know how in the hell any of that is compatible, but no one ever accused you haters of being over-committed to ideological consistency. You like people who look like you or at least hate most of the things that you hate. You hate everything else.

Now, I know you profess to love our country and the founding fathers (unless you are reminded that they believed in the separation of church and state), but I need to remind you that America is NOT what Fox News says it is. America is a melting pot, it always has been. We are a multi-cultural amalgamation of all kinds of people, and yet you still demonize everyone who is not a rich, white, heterosexual christian male or his submissive and obedient wife.

You hate liberals, moderates, hell, anyone who disagrees with Conservative dogma as espoused by Fox News and Rush Limbaugh. You hate em.
Well, here are the facts, Jack. If you hate the Government then you are unqualified to manage it. If you hate gay people more than you love America than you should take your own advice and get the hell out. There are several countries that are openly hostile to gay people, but they are full of brown people and you don't like them much either from what I understand. It looks like you are screwed, but that's not what I am here to tell you. more here http://ministryoftruth.dailykos.com/

    • Without hate the conservatives are unarmed. Funny, in the old days, I never agreed with William F. Buckley and Barry Goldwater, but they did not practice hateful tactics.
I did not hate them and they did not hate me. Today the right wing spews nothing but hate and then wonders why it gets it back. We liberals are suppose to shut up and allow them to walk all over us. Well, the old days are gone and so are the days of not fighting back.

The Left was using tactics of hate from the days of Goldwater and Buckley.

Look at what they did to Goldwater with the aid of Moyers. Remember the Democrats who got over one thousand shrinks to sign a document purportedly attesting to Goldwater's "mental instability?" Well, Goldwater sued for that one and he won, of course.

And this hateful advertisement that outraged so many people it was taken off the air?

Leave it to an EXTREMIST to point out a very rare and EXTREME example, and imply that that was the norm, when it was decidedly not. Today there are no EXTREMES to which Republicans won't go to push their EXTREME agenda and their EXTREME elitism. There are no EXTREME lies they will not tell, no slimy rock they will not crawl under, no EXTREME propoganda they will not disseminate on the internet, no EXTREME lenghts to which they will not go to enact their EXTREME version of vulture capitalism and steal an EXTREME portion of the American pie and leave the middle class and the poor to fend for themselves. The Republican party of today is filled with EXTREMISTS, and the more it pushes it's supposedly 'moderate' candidate, ole Mitt for Brains Romney, to the right, the greater the chance that they will wind up in the same position as Goldwater. That is , in case you conveniently forget to remember, in an EXTREMLY huge election debacle.
Thank you for posting this ad from back then so others could see it. My grandfather was a delegate to the Democratic convention in 1964 in Atlantic City, so I'm very aware of it and remember it fondly. Although it was an overreaction to Goldwater's " EXTREMISM is no vice in the defense of liberty " speech at the Cow Palace in San Francisco, it helped set the tone for a campaign filled with examples of Republican EXTREMISM and led to a crushing defeat.
But I don't expect an EXTREME liberal baiter to relate to and understand any of that. You aren't my intended audience.

Why not follow the exchanges and see why I posted what I did? Then a post will make more sense. It might calm you down also. Please read the first post to which I responded and then you can put it in context. I am sure you will then write a more coherent and reasonable post.

      I await your response. Thanks.

No, it is typical, of course. Try reading history and you will see that it was even worse in the early 19th century. You were claiming that this sort of thing did not happen in the past, but that was simply not true. I want to disabuse you of your false beliefs, that is all.

Perhaps you should educate yourself intead of constantty patronizing others by assuming they have no knowlege of any given subject. You know as well as I do to what period of time I was referring , and it wasn't the 19th Century. Any student of political history knows the vile state of political discourse that existed at certain times throughout our history. But in the time frame I was discussing, the late 50's-60's, eventhough the issues were divisive, the Republican party never stooped to the level of the modern day Republican party. Not even during their constant vilification of FDR and Eleanor, did they sink to the depths of lies and depravity with which they are more than willing to shame themselves today. Your party is unreognizable to anyone who lived through Eisenhower, Nixon and Ford. It wasn't untill the Reagan and George H.W. Bush that your party turned extreme hard right, and with the help of advisors like Lee Atwater became the party of gross misrepresentation and flat out lies. And then Atwater's vicious partner Rove took it to levels heretofore unseen in modern politics.
But you should know this , it's where your learned your distinctive form of liberal baiting you display every time you post here. Please direct your assassination tactics on someone more gullible because I sure as hell am not buying what your peddling.

You have your facts and history all jumbled up.

First of all, most people do not know how "vile" it actually was among the Founders; it reached points sometimes where they killed one another. I believe three of the signers of the Constitution and Declaration died in duels.

"the late 50's-60's, eventhough the issues were divisive, the Republican party never stooped to the level of the modern day Republican party"

      What? what about Nixon?

And you are completely wrong about Reagan, of course. I am sure you will find some unusual examples and present them as though they were representative of a consistent pattern, but if you are honest you will see that the great Ronald Reagan was exemplary in not attacking people but attacking issues, especially the pernicious, destructive, immoral and malevolent LIBERAL ones.

I am not "baiting" Liberals, of course. I am simply writing truths. I have seen what Liberals have done to our history, our traditions, our education, our families, our economy. I pass the TRUTH about their invidious and reprehensible influence that they have managed to foist on many of the American people. But we are fighting back and will retake our country in November.

The fact that three Founders probably died in duels is an "interpretation?"

Referring to Nixon as an example of a Republican stooping low is an "interpretation?"

Presenting FACTS - direct quotes - about the great Ronald Reagan is an "interpretation?"

Your relentless pursuit of this issue after I cleared up the fact that I was referring to modern history, and ignoring your deliberate attempt to distract from this issue at hand, let's me know that I was correct in my original judgement of you as a baiter. Therefore, I suggest that you take a breather--a long one--and after it's over, contact someone else on the board to play your games with. Typical conservative, let's not aaddress the question at hand, twist people's words so you can direct the conversation to your own ends, just like Gingrich and his arrogance at every debate. Which is exactly why I never found Nixon's tricks even half as offensive as I find every republican alive today. Have fun baiting the extreme lefties, Mishuganah.

Great job with the video !
How can they cheer this hatred? They are scared ,resentful people who think they are losing their country. Most rational people accept diversity as the normal course of progress and celebrate it. These are the people who scream about "wanting their country back", as though it is their's and their's alone. The politics of division and hatred is all they know. It's a sad commentary on the state of American politics.

Absurd. I stopped it because I started to get disgusted at the distortions and extremist propaganda.

      First point:
A healthy 30 year old CHOOSES not to pay for health insurance and he goes into a coma.

Do you LEFT-WINGERS actually believe that the society should FORCE others to pay for the unwise and VOLUNTARY consequences of choices of others? If I decide to spend my money on booze and gambling for decades and wind up broke as a DIRECT RESULT OF THAT VOLUNTARY CHOICE, is society under an obligation – via force of government – to provide a “decent standard of living?” Is that how you people view “compassion?”

Next, “executions.” Perry said, “If you come into our state and kill one of our children, police officers, etc., you will face the ultimate justice.”

Well, well, well. Let’s see if a LEFTIST can be LOGICAL AND CONSISTENT for a change: The Left-wingers constantly drone on about helping the weak, those who cannot care for themselves, and the helpless, right?

Well, what else is an UNBORN CHILD EXCEPT THAT?

But no, no, no. The Left fights for the right to life of a convicted murderer of police, children or other innocents, but yet advocates to let doctors END THE LIFE of the truly helpless, the dependent and the weak!

Very interesting that you so very frequently wait until the story drops off the main page before answering. Does it take your mind that long to process a response? What is the point anymore other than to show your pomposity? What if it were a 30 year old man who is out of work and unable to pay for health insurance because of the economy tanked by you right wingers? Does he get the death penalty imposed by you as well? Are you God to decide who lives and who dies? I thought you right wingers were all into "all life is precious". I guess not when it comes to your pocketbooks. Say good night Warren.

Thank you for your comments regarding my assessment about " scared, resentful people " and the rather absurd judgement about liberals. However, one cannot justify one's lack of sympathy for the unfortunate and lack of basic humanity by attacking others. A sense of caring and justice is usually a result of parents who raise their children well to be decent stewards of our society. Those who lack a central core, and are missing that key element of being able to relate to others, either had an unfortunate upbringing, or were born without that charcteristic necessary to be whole. They're generally the ones who grow up torturing and dismembering small animals and wind up slowly turning into serial killers. I'm certain that if Perry, Romney, Santorum, Bachmann and , especially Gingrich ,had not turned to politics they would be out prowling dark alleys at this very moment hunting down their next prey.

Distortion. Ron Paul (I am not a supporter, by the way) was presented with a clear case of a 30-year old man CHOOSING not to pay health insurance. The questioner was very clear - the hypothetical man VOLUNTARILY CHOSE not to pay.

So, it appears that you are saying that even if an able person simply refuses to pay, the society is obliged to pay then.

I fail to understand how that can possibly be defended.

And the "unfortunate?" People who refuse responsibility are "unfortunate?" Murderers are "unfortunate?"

What about unborn babies who want to live while the doctor scrapes them out of the womb and throws their dismembered parts in the trash? Aren't they "unfortunate?"

Just love you " up by your bootstraps" psychpaths who whine endlessly about unborn fetuses which have no personhood, but the second they are out of the womb, they are no longer your responsibility. Then when they're 30 and have no insurance for whatever reason, and they keel over in the streets, your answer is to let them die because they are not your responsibility. Yes, they are, And they are mine too. We ARE the government and as such society demands that we care for one another--especially the least amongst us . If you don't understand that ,there is something missing inside of you. That type of callousness is not only reprehensible, it is downright pathological.

But you deflect and advert as usual. Of course, we can look to religious organizations and various charities to care for the babies whose mothers do not want them. But aren't YOU PEOPLE supposed to demand funding out of "compassion" and "caring" for the needy and helpless? Why so much effort and screeching to save the lives of convicted murderers, but silence when it comes to killing helpless unborn babies? Don't you see the hypocrisies? You claim "hatred" when people say a person should reap the results of his VOLUNTARY CHOICES, but dismiss the killing of babies in the very next sentence.

The hypothetical situation presented to Ron Paul was clear, very clear. Listen again: The question was what if the 30 year old VOLUNTARILY CHOOSES NOT TO PAY for health care.

You deliberately distort in order to promote your own socialist agenda. Of course, every reasonable society, and virtually every Republican will advocate for help for the TRULY needy. To claim otherwise is absurd, juvenile, irrational. It is a deliberate lie.

      1. I am not a socialist, although I don't find a damned thing wrong with being a Euopean socialist. They take care of their citizens and many have a higher standard of living than we do. Not to mention all those wonderful vacation days they are extended, while we treat our employees like slaves. I'm a happy little capitalist and quite financially secure. All of it due to my own creative and enterprising attitude. However,I do not look down as you do ,upon those who have not been blessed with certain talents.
      2. It's irrelevent whether the man refused to pay for insurance or not, he's still a member of the human community and his life should be saved and valued. Medical care is just as much a human right as free speech. Your Mengelen approach is appalling and I would hang you head in shame.
      3. There is only one professional dissembler and distorter on Current ,and it most assuredly is not me. You have the market cornered on that. Think about it long and hard enough and I'm sure you can figure out a way to market it and make a handsome profit from it. Set up a booth at the republican convention in Tampa where you will find thousands of like minded misanthropes who share your insensitivities toward the human species. Sounds like the perfect idea for Gingrich to sponsor with his subhuman sensibilities. The republicans could not find a more perfect candidate to represent their party: a liar , a thief, a rip off artist of the most loathsome type who would exploit his own dead mother to make a buck. That's the party in a nutshell.
      4. Your opinion of me and of all liberals is of no consequence whatever: those of us who respond to you do so out of amusement to see how far you will go with your constant liberal bashing and how many little boxes you confine yourself to with your narrowminded pontificatifications about everything under the sun. There isn’t anything one can say to a hardened indoctrinated right-winger about life, to change their superficial attitudes. Their idea about the miracle of existence is so one-dimensional, so black & white and so… childlike. To believe that one size fits all is naïve; we all come from different backgrounds, different cultures, different economic circumstances, different ideologies and have different perceptions, in other words WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT yet we experience life with a mutual empathetic understanding about one another. We all feel pain and we suffer whether it is mental or physical, therefore we all (should) care about one another. We can’t do it on an individual basis because that would be like trying to save a drowning man alone which would result in the hero drowning along with the victim (panic has no conscience). What is needed is a floatation device to keep the man afloat until you can pull him to safety or wait for trained first responders to arrive. We’re all in this together and we all may need a floatation device thrown our way someday, no matter how rich or poor our economic condition may be. Right-wingers like to blame people for their life misfortunes as if we have the ability to plan our every move second by second. If someone finds himself in a dire life situation, it’s his own fault. The unrealistic Ayn Rand's "Objectivism", (the tendency, to deal with things external to the mind rather than with thoughts or feelings.) is not, down-to-earth nor sensible. If the human animal’s evolutionary course went down that road, I would not be here trying to critique the right-wing form of unconscionable analysis which is… just watch others fall prey to somebody/something and DO NOTHING BUT shake heads and point fingers in judgment claiming IT’S THEIR OWN DAMN FAULT or LET THEM DIE!

I lived and worked in France , the UK and Germany for 5 years and loved every second of it, BUDDY! While there I had abdominal surgery and was never treated better in my life. Since you arrived there with the negative attitude you have, and your prejudice in favor of all things American, with a mental block and narrow mind toward anything else, it doesn't surprise me in the least that you would denigrate the continent and trash anything that doesn't support your right wing xenophobia. Republicans are the most phobic people on earth, I'm surprised they can even leave their homes without a plastic bubble.

If I respected your opinion I might take offense to that, however since I don't respect it ,and neither does anyone else here, I will simply laugh it off as usual. I thank the heavens that I'm not a person of your persuasion with such a loathsome attitude toward and disdain for others. Not being able to relate to you only assues me that I have every reason and justification to feel superior to your over intellectualized concepts and your barely disguised contempt for anyone who does not share your twisted and warped generalizations. I'm also aware that you don't even believe half of what you say and that you're playing a game to see how far you can push and taunt people . I don't know what kind of a person receives satisfaction from this type of bizarre behaviour. Whatever insecurities you have, or whatever obsessive compulsive disorders you struggle with are problems you need to deal with. I, for one, have no further interest in corresponding with one who sinks to the level of discourse you so insistently spew forth at anyone who dares disagree with your particular brand of smug authoritarianism and " I know it all" condescension. Now if you will excuse me I must go reassure my cat (who is always correct in his judgements of people) that you can't get close enough to harm him.

" Personhood " by the way, is a RIGHT wing term coined by you extremist anti-abortion foes. Remember the Personhood Amendments you fanatics tried to pass in several states , especially Mississippi? You know, the ones you had your heads handed to you on? Not even right wing KKK lovin' ole Miss was willing swallow that bitter pill. They're going to keep swallowing their birth control pills, which in the case of Mississippi is a damned smart idea.

Do you know that slightly over 2% of the people want to trash the Constitution and replace it with something else?

Mishima - Well, well, well.

"Personhood?" Is that a far Leftist term? i cannot keep up with the different verbiage of the Left-wingers.

How can you NOT see the contradictions and hypocricy?

      ---

thinkingblue Response: The right-wingers are always spouting (more like spewing) their ugly messages of KILLING UNBORN BABIES. Taking into account the right-wingers’ vast amount of ignorance, this is the ONE gargantuan convoluted talking-point of theirs’ that is UTTERLY senseless. (talking-point -noun- a fact or feature that aids or supports one side, as in an argument).

First and foremost a fertilized egg is not a CUTE CUDDLY AND HUGGABLE BABY. The fertilized egg is called a zygote and IN THE BEGINNING this dividing zygote gets pushed along the Fallopian tube, approximately four days after fertilization. The zygote has about 100 cells (as small as a scabies skin mite, not directly visible to the naked eye) and is called a blastocyst. This tiny spec now becomes a parasitic life-form unable to live on its own. It must have a host and the female human body thus becomes that host. The ignorant right-winger believes that a parasitic life-form, which cannot think and needs total assistance from its host to survive, should have more rights than an adult human female who can critically think and take care of all her own needs. It’s not only ignorant it’s downright moronic to believe that a mature human female should not have a freewill choice over what is to happen to her body; she, according to the twisted world of the right-winger, must be forced legally into imprisonment for 9 months without due process. After that she goes through THE SHADOW OF THE VALLEY OF DEATH…

article for image(U.S. women are dying from childbirth at the highest rate in decades, new government figures show.

      http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20427256/ns/health-pregnancy/t/more-us-women-dying-c....TyFPhfmAEfg )

…and gives birth. The “baby” is now in existence, and a new incarceration begins for the human female because the baby still cannot live on its own and since the mother is, in all likelihood, POOR (people with money will still get their abortions); thus her baby will most likely suffer the pain and indignities of poverty and will not receive the love and attention a new born baby deserves. And if right-wingers get their way on making abortion illegal they will surely have also gotten their way on not allowing the government to help an impoverished mother financially, in the dreadful years that follow. But of course, the right-winger does not possess the ability to critically think and question, therefore all these insights are for naught upon the brain of a right-winger.

I would not care about any of this except an ignorant vote really does affect all of us, especially those of us who are unfortunate enough to be born into a working poor family. IGNORANCE IS NOT BLISS! thinkingblue

The Left-wingers do or say whatever they can to dehumanize the unborn child in order to relieve their consciences. That is clear. They want to have it both ways: Indulge their desires without responsibility. If the actually result of their voluntary choices is the beginning of a life, they want to be relieved of the burden, and even demand that it be at government (taxpayers') expense.

That DOOMS a human being. It is saying that rather than take a chance with life, just destroy it, end it. The person plays God and proclaims that an unborn baby should have its life terminated rather than live in poverty.

There are a fair number of examples in history of people who thought like that.

      Famous people.

I didn't compose that bit of reality for your sake. You, my friend, are hopeless. Don't worry, you are not alone, there are many (too many) non-thinkers in our country and I lay the blame at the foot of some religions (evangelicals) and the Republican party who realized early on (back in the Reagan Era) that religion had done half the (brainwashing) work for them all they had to do was capitalize on religion's finished labor… the rest was easy; convince an already frightened “flock” to vote for them using all kinds of fear tactics (just as the churches do) and that would sweep them into the victory they yearned for.
BTW, if you for one moment think the GOP cares about making abortion illegal you better think again, it’s just another gizmo for them to use to ambush votes.

Well, I pointed out the reality of your thinking: You parrot the cliches without thought. You prefer death to the possibility that even someone born into poverty can have a happy and productive life. There are cards stacked against him, you profess, so end the life rather than take a chance.

Some philosophy of "caring" and "compassion."

It is ironic that you say I am a "non-thinker" when, in fact, all you can do to "rebutt" the charge is to name-call and label.

No, it is the Left that promulgates fear and hate. The Left foments racial conflict all of the time, from saying that certain groups are "oppressed" and "oppressors" to creating myths about the "evil rich" that are controlling our lives. The latter drives the unthinking into an almost panic state, and they take to the streets because of the destructive lies and propaganda of the Left.

    • Well i,ll be damned the tea party republicans got their grip on the gop by working at the grass roots level and in back yards getting their people elected in their precincts and then moving on up this sounds very familiar oh wait president obama became a community organizer instead of going to work for law offices and making thousands if not millions of dollars. Now who would have thought the tea partiers were smart enough to recognize how smart this man was and use his methods and got control of enough house seats to bring the country to a stand still.Democrats quit being so stupid and stop whining about obama not getting done what you wanted get out there and get him re-elected and take back the congress that is the only way you are going to get what you wanted. These next ten months is when we must get busy and take this country back.If we don,t make that happen then prepare to spend the rest of your life in poverty and then don,t complain you could have made a difference.

You know I wish there was a Facebook type website for people who wanted to meet with each other in their communities and organize political action. Maybe it could be a neutral site, that just asked people questions and then matched them up in compatible groups by zipcode. The system would have to guarantee privacy and anonymity; but like a dating service could provide a means for like minded people in the same congressional district to hook up. The site could also educate people on the issues in an unbiased manner, similar to the way the League of Women voters educates in an unbiased way.

    • First of all, there's plenty of hate to go around on both sides. We know this already.

In my opinon liberal, or far left hate is substanially more virulent and dangerous for the simple fact that it is socially accepted, especially by the politically correct establishment.

Rightwing bigorty is prevelant especially when it comes to those evil Moooslems, but it is not as readily tolerated by the media establishment as a whole. FOX News appears to give "soft" bigorty a platform, but even FOX has it's limits on "hate" and will often stand with the staunchest liberal in telling Americans when a particular hateful issue is off-limits.

I don't see the point of this letter, let alone this post, as it does not seem to address anyone in particular. It is purely subjective, and it's sole purpose appears to be to intentionally inflammatory.

Some people might even call this "trolling" if this were posted at a right-wing oriented forum, but then at least it would have had a purpose.

      >In my opinon liberal, or far left hate is substanially more virulent and dangerous for the simple fact that it is socially accepted

Very true. It is couched in the rhetoric of "politically correct" verbiage. One tactic the Left uses is to proclaim they are for "peace" or they "care" about the poor. Of course, anyone can claim that, but they insist on having a special ownership.

Their dogma and agenda accompany these proclamations, and there is an invidious purpose to it: If you disagree with the AGENDA, then you are branded the exact opposite by default. For example, the Liberals proclaim they want universal healthcare because they "care" about the CHILDREN (bringing up children is the most common tactic of the Left-wingers); therefore, if you do not accede to their demands and acquiese to their agenda, you are branded as a person who is cold-blooded and does not even care about the children or the poor.

Most people make a mistake and fall into the Liberal trap. That is, they then start to defend themself against the absurd and fallacious charges. They try to prove that they are NOT what these LEFTISTS accuse them of being. That is a BIG mistake. One should never try to exonerate oneself of these absurd charges but simply point out how the LEFT-WINGER is the person who is harming children and how they have with their policies.

We, who refuse to march in lockstep to outright bigotry perpetrated by propagandist who use fear to make people do what they know in their hearts is wrong. We, who can see the injustice brought on by too many years under Republican/Corporate control. We, who can realize that class warfare is real and disparities between the classes has become overwhelmingly unfair. I don't know if things will ever change but for sure we must stop being silent and join together in rants of anger. Too long we have been controlled by those who wish to enslave us for their own profits and power. We have as silly Herman Cain so comically expressed, BLAMED OURSELVES and remained mum and ashamed. Embarrassed about going bankrupt due to gargantuan medical bills or job layoffs because as Pat Buchanan once said after the GOP changed bankruptcy laws that made it almost impossible for the middle class to use this tool the Corporate World employs all the time, “IT’S ABOUT TIME AMERICA DID SOMETHING TO STOP THE DEADBEATS FROM GETTING AWAY WITH NOT PAYING THEIR BILLS”. The inequalities that have overtaken America are not our fault but it will be, if we stay quiet and do as we are told. I salute the OWS groups; they are shedding enlightenment where there was only ignorance, to the utter dismay of the Corporatists’. thinkingblue

You are 150% right about this, and we can see it by the way the brown shirts ... uh, police ... and mayors are doing everything they can to shut it down. At the end of The Patriot Cornwallis says: "Everything will change; everything HAS changed," this is what most of the OWS denigraters realize and that is why they are grasping at straws trying to shut it down before it grows even stronger.
