CHARLESTON, South Carolina — Republican frontrunner Mitt Romney hit a roadblock Sunday in South Carolina as Christian conservative leaders coalesced behind Rick Santorum in the race for the presidential nomination.
A group of 155 Christian evangelical leaders from around the country endorsed Santorum, a former Pennsylvania senator, Saturday after holding a vote on a Texas ranch to agree on a single candidate before the January 21 South Carolina primary.
“It’s a big hit, let’s be honest,” Senator John McCain, who recently endorsed Romney, said on CNN. “There’s a very strong evangelical movement in South Carolina, particularly inland.”

To many want to turn this nation into a theocracy. A theocracy is always a bad idea, look to Iran, Saudie Arabia, and other strict hardline religiously run nations. Freedom to beleive as you want is allways a cornerstone of a nation. Just don't get dogmatic about it. This is not freedom. As far as Having a Mormon or a Roman Catholic in charge of our nation, get a life,it does not matter.

THE GORILLA IN THE BATHROOM IS THAT "2 CANDIDATES "ARE" MORMONS"
This seems to be a difficult subject for ALL the Media. I did read the Book Of Mormon shows Jesus walking with the Mayans, You read it for yourself. IT is best to know what and who your dealing with. Utah highest rate of Porn. Mormons hide a lot and no Black Mormons Yes in Hawaii Polynesians some are, very few.
I would like to see more separation of Church and State. God is good enough to stay home, why dirty that mindscape. If a Hindu or Muslim or even A FELLOW JEW, ran for office, Religion would be question JFK a Catholic, But, NAVY HERO PT 109 remember! What has Santorum ever done, other than talk of poverty of non-whites, Bombing Iran to kill many families.THEY Scream Family Values MITT Mittens and tricky Rick,KILL FAMILIES OVER SEAS steal more of your money to do it!..............DRONE KILLS+NIGHT RAIDS+SUICIDES.......

Well Santorum is naturally going to find support amongst the hard line far right Christians. He has always been clear, he hates gays, he believes women are less than and that the USA is God's new chosen people. Whats not to vote for? Romney on the other hand seems to be confused about where he stands on these issues. It is this division that will be vital to victory against Romney in this years elections. This divide is what also pretty much seals Santorums loss. Most republicans are not all that hard line and don't support it. That's why candidates like Bachman, Perry, and Santorum struggle. They do not appeal to the larger bulk of republicans or Americans for that matter.

Which is struggle that only a Kennedy can conquer on the national stage if memory serves, he was our only Catholic President. Then again, I was never sure why being Catholic was a struggle. As far as religions go I don't think they are the best but far from the worst.

We all remember what happened to Kennedy... I don't practice religion and really wish we would get back to the separation of Church and State, especially where our POTUS is concerned...
