KABOOM! Over a million signatures filed to force recall of Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker

-
-
- KB723
- added this
Democrats and their allies in organized labor say they delivered over a million recall petition signatures against Gov. Scott Walker (R) Tuesday, far more than the 540,208 needed to spark a recall election.
The filing kicks off the latest phase in a fight over collective bargaining rights that began almost as soon as Walker took office last January.
Democrats also filed 845,000 signatures to trigger a recall against Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch (R) and enough to recall four Republican state senators, according to party chairman Mike Tate.
Last summer, Democrats attempted to win back control of the state Senate after the Republican leadership passed legislation limiting public workers’ bargaining rights. They recalled two Republicans but fell one seat short of flipping the chamber.

"New requirements mean that verifying the signatures will take at least two months. The election date will then be set for this spring, barring further legal challenges."

While Walker no doubt needs to be physically thrown homeless into the street .. (not to mention kicked repeatedly where the sun don't shine) we shouldn't forget that this ass hat is merely a pawn for men who can/will spend billions to buy the governments they so desperately feel they're entitled to.
What we really need to do is arrest the billionaire KOCH brothers, then seize 100% of their assets as reparations for the countless criminal endeavors they've funded against the 99%.
I wonder how many billionaires (or millionaires for that matter) would be so eager to dive into the frigid waters of government corruption after seeing the COCK's frog marched in orange jump suits and handcuffs to spend their remaining days breaking big rocks into little ones from prison? I'm guessing none.

Hey if the people of Wisconsin want to go back to the financial problems they had than so be it. This is just the unions trying to reinforce their income stream. Walker inherited the mess he has to deal with. He needs more than a year to fix it. The remedies he has put in place are long term and will help the state recover. Glad I do n't live there. The possibility that his positive efforts will be overturned by the ignorant is not a good thing.

God forbid that Educators ban together to try to get more competitive earnings to combat rising educational costs, aid them in obtaining better tools for the class room, and some compensation for them having to purchase supplies for low income students.
The Right to Assemble is granted by the constitution, and was the very thing which created our government in the first place. We UNIONIZED against Great Britain, and WON!I suppose we could be like China, and just send people to prison if they try to form a union. Ignorant -- interesting word, coming from you. When the koch whore took office there was a surplus -- he gave that surplus to big biz (probably just his koch[suckers]) and then proceeded to LIE like a rug to the good people of WI, telling them the state was broke and he was going to have to institute major changes to keep the state from going bankrupt. I'm betting when he is FIRED later this year the new governor is going to discover how seriously he has managed to fuck up everything in one short year. You see, every picture I have ever seen of him proves to me that he is truly 2 standard deviations below the mean; uh ... that means he's MAYBE just a few IQ points above my retarded son!
Glad I do n't live there. -- Yeah, life must be so much nicer on Fantasy Island.

Rock on. Down with the republicans and their agenda. Let's all do the Elephant Stomp on this party of the elite. If Wisconsin wins look for this to be the starting point of the reversal of republican fortunes in politicis. Newt had it right in '78, take over the dog catcher jobs and the local races and you will eventually supplant representatives, and senators to help take over the Oval Office. The Governors first and the White House second. Sorry, I am paraphrasing here.

Like I asked before. How many of the people involved in the recall Walker effort voted for him in the first place? And how many of them are going to vote for the Republican candidate in the next Wisconsin election because they simply can not bring themselves to vote Democrat, or they think Walker was just an anomaly, and the next Republican candidate could never do the things Walker did? You never can tell what the people who voted Walker into power in the first place are going to do.

jimstoner, let me address the common myths that abound on Current regarding the Scott Walker rise to power in WI. I live here, have all my life and I know a thing or two more than people who buy into the conventional wisdom about why Walker won here in 2010. The tired story line that many want everyone to believe is that the "progressives" stayed home paving the way to Walker's victory. Not true. The true progressives did not stay home, it was the moderate Dems who bought into the flood of Koch bought ads painting the prior Democratic Governor as the reason for all the state's ills, which was untrue on its face. Jim Doyle did a lot of great things for WI including creation of BadgerCare for low income families and SeniorCare for the elderly providing affordable health care for both groups. I could go on, but that's not the point here. The biggest reason for the Walker rise to power is the political demographic shift that has taken place in this state over the past few years. We are no longer a majority Blue state. A lot of the old guard have died off or retired to Florida and Arizona and have been replaced by an influx of conservative voters who feel the Republican Party have kept more money in their pockets. But the extreme agenda put forth by Walker has opened plenty of even their eyes to the negative effects of his economic agenda such as losing their neighborhood school. There is plenty of buyer's remorse since 2010 and many that voted for Walker are now firmly in the recall camp. We'll see what a 2012 do-over brings to the state and a rejection of the Koch/ALEC influence hopefully carries the day.

The Koch's bastardization of the democratic process through their shadow front groups using the tactics of Goebbels has indeed has to be eradicated. As Stephen Colbert said to George Stephanopolous the other day, "Money is speech and more money means more speech" hit the right wing's attitude right on the head. People are sick of it already as we have all seen the political process poisoned by lies and misinformation spewed by PACs that have no accountability for the damage they do to legitimate discourse. Now we really head into the dirty politics spring of 2012 here in WI. Walker has been the poster boy for the right wing agenda since day one and they will not let their first general go down easy. There is already a frantic attempt by the GOP led assembly to hand the state's mining industry over to the Kochs and they will not see their cash cow slip through their greasy fingers if they can help it. The campaign of misinformation is already in full swing on the airwaves and Walker is dancing as fast as he can in front of the out of state donors to stock his defense of career fund. One of his top former aides is about to go on trial for embezzlement and his amateurishly criminal cronies are starting to bob to the surface at the worst possible time for him. Hopefully the state Democratic Party can parlay enough of the dirt into a mud pie that will stick to Walker's ass all the way to pink slip time.

John Chisholm, the City of Milwaukee DA, who would have jurisdiction over any of the dirty dealings that went on when Walker was Milwaukee County Exec, leans left which still exists in some key positions in the city but is very even-handed in his approach to justice. The ilk of who Walker hired on as member sof his regime is becoming very obvious, featuring the aforementioned embezzlement of funds intended for a veterans families fund and child enticement and internet porn charge against another associate, not to mention the usual campaigning on County time that has been levied against other members of his slimy team. They are a bunch of real gems and they were not able to bury their numerous indiscretions deep enough.
