SALISBURY -- The state physicians board has suspended the medical license of a Salisbury psychiatrist after it determined he had engaged in sexual misconduct with a female patient.

The board suspended Dr. Daniel S. Smithpeter's license for three years when it made its ruling in December; however, the suspension could be lifted after a year if he completes a professional ethics course.

"Dr. Smithpeter used the authority and trust granted to him as a psychiatrist to subject this patient to his sexual overtures and acts while engaged in a medical appointment in his office," wrote John T. Papavasiliou, deputy director of the physicians board, in the board's written decision.

The patient was being treated at Delmarva Family Resources on North Salisbury Boulevard when the sexual relationship with Smithpeter started in 2005.

Smithpeter, who was licensed in 1996, is identified as the owner of Delmarva Family Resources in board documents.

The psychiatrist's license suspension came almost a month after a Salisbury pain management doctor's license was suspended in December.

Maryland State Board of Physicians suspended Dr. Brent Fox's medical license at the conclusion of a drug investigation.

    • Milieu, You're a little off topic with your continual erroneous posts from OTHER's false data sourced from left wing hate websites - which is of course very reliable (sarcasm) - kinda like your South Park bible.

You're also supporting Psychiatrists with known histories of sexual misconduct charges. But oh well - everyone is entitled to whom they support.

Anyhow, doesn't change the fact Dr. Daniel S. Smithpeter (Psychiatrist) who, for now, won't be harming people, umm meant, practicing. Ha, ha, ha!!!! ...along with several others Psychs for sexual misconduct acts.

Their crimes just don't stop - and this fact must drive you mad! Ha, Ha, Ha!!!

But please, keep trying to obfuscate Psychiatric abuse with false data.

Also loved Diane Sawyer's recent three part investigation revealing over medicated foster children on Psych Drugs!

    • Just a few of the $cientologist's problems as to why they are fighting psychiatry:

      Nice job David Miscavige, Jr.

      Scientology and Psychiatry
Why Scientology Is Against Psychiatric Treatment

German domestic intelligence services have monitored the organization's activities. The German government does not recognize Scientology as a religion. It views it as an abusive business masquerading as a religion and believes that it pursues political goals that conflict with the values enshrined in the German constitution. This stance has been criticized, most notably by the U.S. government, which recognizes Scientology as a religion and has repeatedly raised concerns over discriminatory practices directed at individual Scientologists.[2][3][4]

Strength in their numbers: More Church of Scientology defectors come forward with accounts of abuse

In scientology there have been enough verified reports of children being ordered locked in chain lockers on the "flagship" by Hubbard himself or being subjected to the labor camp reform of the RPF, to know that the man hadn't the slightest regard for the welfare of children. Children are housed in squalid conditions, deprived of proper parental supervision, medical care and generally considered excess baggage by the cult's leaders.

The abuse, however, that I would like to address here is what I have personally witnessed: the mental and spiritual abuse perpetrated upon children raised in the cult environment.

      180 THE SEA ORGANIZATION 1966-1976

In 1968, Hubbard's Ethics was put into action with the chain-locker punishment. A chain-locker is "a dark hole where the anchor chains are stored; cold, wet and rats," to quote one ex-Sea Org officer. The lockers are below the steering in the bowels of the ship. A tiny manhole gives access, and they are unlit. When a crew member was in a low enough Ethics Condition, he or she would be put in a chainlocker for up to two weeks. John McMaster says a small child, perhaps five years old, was once consigned to a chain-locker. He says she was a deaf mute, and that Hubbard had assigned her an Ethics condition for which the formula is "Find out who you really are." She was not to leave the chain locker until she completed the formula by writing her name. McMaster says Hubbard came to him late one night in some distress, and asked him to let the child out. He did, cursing Hubbard the while. Another witness claims that a three-year-old was once put in the locker.
