Penn State College, football coach Joe Paterno, 85 has died from complications of lung cancer. It was reported that Paterno was being kept alive by a ventilator. His family was waiting to make the decisions about turning it off after Paterno told his family he did not want to be kept alive by a machine.

I live in PA. but I've never had any use for the kind of cult that has surrounded this guy for so many years (I find cults generally disturbing). Football in general is a cult activity in PA. Sorry for his family of course, but beyond that well all death is sad (unless it's someone like a right-wing-dictator, then celebrate!).
