Which countries in the African continent are most active users of Twitter? That’s what this fascinating infographic put together by Tweetminster and Portland shows.
Based on analysis from October to December 2011, the infographic uses geo-location to determine where over 11.5 million tweets originated.
The most prolific country is also the richest: more than 5.03 million tweets were sent by Twitter users in South Africa.
Next on the list was Kenya with 2.48 million tweets, followed by Nigeria with 1.65 million and Egypt with 1.21 million.
